Former Inter and Juventus player Roberto Boninsegna spoke to TuttoJuve ahead of the Derby d’Italia clash on Saturday. There were his words: “I did not expect the derby in December to be a Scudetto clash, Juventus challenging for the title was predictable but Inter being here are a surprise after they came seventh last year. The Nerazzurri purchases were very good, then Perisic and Icardi stayed.”
But who is the favorite on Saturday night?
“The favorite in these circumstances is always difficult to pinpoint, they are two mammoth teams. I remember that with Juventus I won two championships and the third we were dead tired, they have already won six Scudetti and always manage to utilise their whole squad really well. Their new players integrated well”.
Higuain and Icardi will play for a place with their national team in the World Cup. Who’s going to come out on top “Pipita” or the Nerazzurri attacker?
“In my opinion, the attacker who plays at home is always favored because his team has more chances, they are two very good strikers, unfortunately they can not play together with Argentina”.
What about Allegri and Spalletti?
“Two good coaches, they know how to defend themselves and speak a lot. the Tuscan (Spalletti) can speak for days but when Spalletti finishes talking I always wonder what he actually said. They are two funny coaches”.
