Sevilla Reject Inter’s Joao Mario-Joaquin Correa Swap Proposal

Inter’s proposal that involved swapping Joao Mario for Sevilla’s Joaquin Correa has been turned down by the Spanish club who simply do not want the Portuguese midfielder according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

Despite this setback, Inter remain keen on the former Sampdoria attacker and have sent an intermediary to deal with Sevilla to try and strike a deal. It will not be easy though given Sevilla did not want a player of Joao Mario’s ability. Inter opted to turn their attention to Correa after they were offered Franco Vazquez by Sevilla in return for Joao Mario but neither Piero Ausilio or Walter Sabatini wanted the former Palermo man.

The 23-year-old made the switch to the Andalusian club back in the summer of 2016 in a deal around the €13 million mark from Sampdoria. The Argentine, who can play on either wing as well as an attacking midfielder has been a regular feature in the Sevilla side making no less than 19 appearances across all competitions, scoring four and assisting just as many.
