Following another Juventus appeal against Inter being awarded the 2005/06 due to the Calciopoli scandal that rocked Italian football, Fabio Capello shared his thoughts.
“It was a joke and clearly unfair to have assigned that Scudetto to Inter. The timing wasn’t respected and the rules didn’t allow for sporting justice to operate properly. Guido Rossi acted too hastily,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.
Capello also commented on the recent racist incidents at Italian grounds.
“Players should sit on the field and they shouldn’t be punished. By doing that, it would help the fans who are behaving and want to watch football, while forcing those guilty of monkey chants to stop and feel ashamed of what they’re doing.
“Italy’s the only country where the ultras are in charge and the players go to greet them. We give too much importance to these people.
“Around 85-90% of the fans who come to the stadium are important, not these gentlemen with banners, slogans and power given to them by their clubs.”
