Fabio Capello: “Inter Won’t Be The Tallest Skyscraper But Will Be A Great & Beautiful One”

Legendary Italian manager Fabio Capello has shared his views on Juventus and Inter, a few days on from the first Derby D’Italia of the season between the two clubs.

“Before the match at San Siro, Juventus only showed their enormous potential in glimpses but in the match against Inter there was an extraordinary demonstration of strength and conviction,” he said in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

“I was particularly struck by the compactness of Juventus in the folds of the match, the last thing that distinguishes the groups capable of achieving few and isolated results, from those that instead aim to cross the final goal.

“They may slip up in a few games when the concentration and determination rates are not at their maximum. Even in this case, however, the club has natural antidotes.”

He was then asked about Antonio Conte’s description of Juventus being a skyscraper and his Inter being a building under construction.

“I think Antonio exaggerated a little, as he did in the past when he talked about the different prices in restaurants to explain the failures in the Champions League. To be honest, his Inter will not be the tallest skyscraper in the world but they will be a great and beautiful skyscraper.

“The difference between them and Juventus is Juventus’ quality across their team. This was clear on Sunday when Stefano Sensi was forced off due to injury and Matias Vecino came on. Inter lost a lot of quality.”
