Former Inter and Juventus player Roberto Boninsegna has confirmed that he roots for both clubs despite them being arch-rivals both on and off the pitch.
“I go to see Inter and Juventus when I can. They are the two teams who matter most to me in my life. The first I support and the second because I done well there and I won a lot,” he said in an interview which appeared in the paper edition of Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
“When it comes to the title race, it is between Juventus and Inter. I was at San Siro on Sunday night and saw a good game between two great teams.”
He then went on to praise Inter manager Antonio Conte and spoke on the gap that has separated Inter and Juventus as the Bianconeri have reigned supreme in domestic football for nearly a decade.
“Antonio Conte is good, he is doing a great job at Inter but it is difficult to fill a gap of over 20 points immediately.”
He also shared his disappointment at the fact Inter let Nicolo Zaniolo go as part of the deal for Radja Nainggolan.
“I feel like crying when I see Zaniolo! To think that Inter sold him for €4 million and now he is worth more than €50 million it makes me go crazy: you can’t sacrifice someone like that for Nainggolan, with all due respect to Nainggolan. All right, Spalletti wanted the Belgian at all costs, but the club should have prevented the loss of Zaniolo.”
