Inter are ready to sell Brazilian forward Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa to Flamengo, but despite an agreement with the Brazilian club, they are still waiting for the player’s consent to the sale, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 23-year-old striker, who has scored 24 goals and provided five assists in 29 appearances for Flamengo this season, is valued by Inter for around €22 million. However, the Brazilian side have failed to offer that, instead reaching a figure of around €18 million. Therefore, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has asked to insert in the deal a percentage on a future sale of between 20 to 25%.
Whilst the Brazilian side have agreed this, as they are keen to retain a player who is one of the hottest in the Brazilian league this season, Gabigol has yet to give his consent to the deal. Now both clubs are forced to wait for the 23-year-old’s decision.
