Joao Mario has taken to photo sharing social media platform Instagram to share his disappointment after injury has forced him to withdraw from Portugal’s upcoming matches.
Portugal are due to face Lithuania at home and Luxembourg away to conclude their EURO 2020 qualifying campaign, games that they must win if they wish to defend their title.
The midfielder is currently out on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow from Inter and has played 12 times, contributing one goal and four assists in the process.
“Unfortunately I am injured and I will not be able to help our team in the next two qualifying matches. I will work to get back soon. Thank you for your trust, I will be another supporter of Portugal!,” he posted.

#staystrong #fpf #lokomotiv #juntosporportugal @portugal @fclokomotiv
