Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio are still working hard to secure the signature of Swedish midfielder Dejan Kulusevski, but the aim is to sign him next summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how Parma, who have the 19-year-old Swede on loan from Atalanta this season, aren’t willing to let him leave in January, due to his importance to the squad.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri management are working with Atalanta to finalise a deal for next summer instead, hoping to beat Juventus to his signature. The Bergamo based club want around €30 million plus bonuses for Kulusevski, expensive but an investment for the future considering his strong performances and young age.
However, the Nerazzurri still need to find a midfield reinforcement for the upcoming January transfer window, the report highlights. Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal is a potential option, but only on a loan deal with a buy option attached due to his older age and high wages.
Udinese talisman Rodrigo De Paul is another option, but he is also expensive and the Friulian club may not be willing to let him leave.
