Manchester United defender Ashley Young’s move to Inter is appearing more and more likely, with coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s decision to leave the player out of the squad today suggesting he is close to departing, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how Solskjaer tried to suggest that Young won’t be leaving the club this month, but it’s now clear that the Englishman is no longer considered key in the club’s project. The 34-year-old has told the club’s management that he wants to leave the club immediately and move to Milan to join Inter.
The deal is expected to be finalised next week, the report continues, after the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia match against Cagliari.
Young has reached an agreement with Inter for a contract that will expire in June 2021. Inter still need to reach a compensation fee with the Red Devils for Young’s signature.
