Inter are preparing to finalise their negotiations with Tottenham for outgoing Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to a report from Italian media outlet Gianlucadimarzio.com today.
The report details how the 27-year-old midfielder has agreed upon a deal with Inter for a January move, but now the Milanese club must work to reach an agreement with Spurs to fully finalise the deal. Inter are hoping to lower Spurs’ requested fee of €20 million.
Furthermore, the report continues, the club are working rapidly to ensure that coach Antonio Conte will have the player at his disposal immediately, rather than waiting until June. Inter appreciate the need for midfield reinforcements, with yesterday’s draw against Atalanta also showing the importance of stronger options in the department.
Eriksen has made 25 appearances across all competitions for Spurs so far this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process. Last season he was one of the key players in the squad that helped guide the club to the Champions League final.
