Inter’s leading ultra group Curva Nord have released a statement via their official Facebook page ‘L’urlo Della Nord’ urging fans thinking of going to this weekend’s Derby D’Italia against Juventus to not buy tickets for the game.
Several reports in the media have reported that the match between the two great rivals at the Allianz Stadium is to be played behind closed doors as a result of the recent Coronavirus outbreak in Italy.
No official word has arrived on the matter but some other reports have went so far as to suggest that Juventus will stick with their policy regarding ticket refunds meaning fans who purchase tickets will not be reimbursed.
In the increasingly likely event that the game is played behind closed doors it will be Inter’s third straight game affected by the virus’ presence.
The Nerazzurri’s Serie A match at home to Sampdoria this past weekend was postponed and tonight’s Europa League round of 32 clash with Ludogorets is to be played behind closed doors.
“DO NOT BUY TICKETS FOR TURIN,” the statement is titled.
“The Curva Nord encourages all Inter fans to not buy tickets that are still available for the away section in Turin for the match on Sunday.
“Although it may seem paradoxical, the “behind closed doors” has not yet been made official so the Turin club – whose name doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned on this page – are continuing to sell tickets and will do so up until 24 hours before the match.
“Respecting their own absurd faculty, it seems certain that once there is confirmation that fans will not be there, they will NOT reimburse those who purchased tickets.”
