Following on from his earlier interview on the sidelines at the Gentleman prize ceremony, Piero Ausilio spoke to the gathered media entirely on all the hot topics concerning the Nerazzurri.

Inter captain Mauro Icardi and incoming Lautaro Martinez have been included in Jorge Sampaoli’s 35-man preliminary squad for the upcoming World Cup.

In the coming weeks in the lead up to this summer’s spectacle in Russia Sampaoli must cut 12 players from that squad to make a final 23 man squad.

Icardi and Martinez may well miss out due to the fierce competition despite scoring 28 and 17 goals this season respectively.

Former Inter player Cristian Ansaldi is also in the squad that includes a number of players currently plying their trade in Serie A.

Con una grafica andata in onda nel corso della puntata di “Sky Calcio Club” è stata analizzata la stagione di Mauro Icardi dal punto di vista dei gol. Nonostante sia di gran lunga il miglior cannoniere dell’Inter, con ventotto centri in campionato, nel girone di ritorno ha mostrato una flessione non solo dal punto di vista numerico.

DIVISIONE NON EQUA – Dei ventotto gol realizzati fin qui da Mauro Icardi diciassette sono stati messi a segno nel girone d’andata e undici in quello di ritorno, dove c’è però da segnalare che ha saltato quattro partite e una la deve ancora giocare. La differenza reale, secondo Sky Sport, è legata però al valore delle reti realizzate dal capitano dell’Inter: fino alla diciannovesima giornata per cinque volte aveva sbloccato il match, per otto volte aveva portato in vantaggio la squadra di Luciano Spalletti e per tre volte aveva pareggiato la situazione, ora invece solo in tre occasioni ha firmato il primo gol di una partita e in altrettante ha mandato avanti i nerazzurri nel punteggio, mentre solo una volta (con la Juventus) ha rimesso in parità l’incontro.

Former Suning technical coordinator Walter Sabatini reflected on his time with the Nerazzurri and spoke on the Milan rumours in an interview with the gathered media at an event in Turin.

“I am in no hurry, but I want to start again. I will carry a huge regret though: having lost Inter. After leaving Inter it is difficult to think of anything better. Milan do not think about me. These are just stories, and I do not want to be involved in them,” he said.

Sabatini, who left his post by mutual agreement recently, then spoke on Inter’s Champions League qualification decider with Lazio this coming weekend on the final day of the Serie A season.

PROMOSSI – «Abbiamo vinto la Supercoppa Italiana e la Viareggio Cup nonostante le tante assenze. Abbiamo fatto benissimo anche in Youth League, dove siamo stati eliminati ai rigori dal Manchester City. In campionato l’obiettivo era arrivare tra le prime due e ce l’abbiamo fatta con una giornata d’anticipo. Il bilancio stagionale è fin qui sicuramente positivo, mi auguro che possiamo continuare così per rivincere lo Scudetto. Facundo Colidio? Sta facendo molto bene. Non è facile inserirsi in una realtà completamente nuova, ha talento ed è ancora giovanissimo. Nicolò Zaniolo? È forse quello più pronto di tutti, ha grande fisicità e qualità. Ha fatto tredici gol, se si impegnerà e si allenerà al massimo farà il calcio vero, da lui tutti si aspettano tantissimo. Jens Odgaard? Ha grande talento. È un danese un po’ freddo, quindi deve migliorare come temperamento, però ha grandissime doti. La società ha investito su questi ragazzi e loro stanno ripagando la fiducia. Giovani in prima squadra? Nell’organico della prima squadra, come accaduto l’anno scorso, verranno inseriti anche i miei ragazzi, qualcuno ha anche esordito poi. Facendo le coppe europee ci sarà spazio un po’ per tutti, toccherà a Luciano Spalletti decidere. Qualcuno di buono c’è sicuramente. Andrea Pinamonti? Non so se tornerà con noi in Primavera, non penso, ormai è un calciatore della prima squadra. Roberto Mancini? L’ho conosciuto molto bene, è uno dei migliori allenatori italiani. Ha fatto benissimo all’Inter e credo che possa fare altrettanto anche con l’Italia».
