Sampdoria Uruguayan midfielders is sure to be one of the many names on Inter’s radar during the upcoming transfer market.

In an interview with CalcioNapoli24.it, the players father and agent discussed the future of the player. “We are very happy for Lucas, and we are pleased that he is finally reaping the benefits after so many years of hard work. We are thinking about his future and working to find the best place for him. This is a new situation for us, to have so many teams interested and it makes us proud.”

The agent went on to address the recent rumours that Torreira had already agreed a deal to join Maurizio Sarri’s side next season. “At this moment, he will not be joining Napoli. I am not sure what the conversation was between the two clubs, but Napoli remains out of the question at the moment. Indeed, we have not had discussions with any side yet as Lucas still has a long time to decide on his future.”

GRANDE AFFLUENZA – Il responsabile marketing della Lazio, Marco Canigiani, fornisce qualche dato in vista dell’attesissima sfida tra i biancocelesti e l’Inter: «Il dato attuale circa la vendita di Lazio-Inter dice che siamo a 28.000 biglietti staccati quindi abbiamo superato le 40.000 presenze. Si tratta di un dato importante perché siamo a dieci giorni dalla partita. Stanno andando in esaurimento tutti i Distinti quindi ora vedremo gli accorgimenti da apportare. La quota dei 60.000 può essere raggiungibile in virtù della numerosa richiesta nerazzurra; il tetto dei 50.000 verrà quasi certamente superato». Infine, una specifica su data e ora che potrebbero variare: «Per regola, nell’ultima giornata del campionato, le partite che hanno lo stesso obiettivo di classifica devono giocarsi in contemporanea. The market has not officially opened yet, but Inter’s transfer team are already amongst the most active as they seek to build the team for next season. Indeed, Sporting Director Piero Ausilio admitted yesterday that the process is well underway.

Further confirmation comes from Gianluca Di Marzio, the market expert from Sky, who reports that the Nerazzurri have made a new attempt to sign Filip Benkovic – the 20 year old centre back from Dynamo Zagreb which Inter have been following for some time.

Despite his tender age the player is already a regular for his team, making 28 appearances and scoring four goals. Although he is yet to receive a call up to the senior Croatian side, he has 24 caps across different youth levels.
Inter will hope that their good relations with the Croatian club can smooth the negotiation process for the player. In the past Inter have secured both Mateo Kovacic and Marcelo Brozovic from Zagreb, with positive results.

MATTINA – “Nell’allenamento mattutino la squadra ha lavorato in palestra svolgendo esercizi di ginnastica a terra e potenziamento del core stability. Alla fine di questa prima parte si è poi proseguito con il riscaldamento e, infine, con un lavoro di forza personalizzato a stazioni. Alcuni giocatori hanno svolto degli esercizi di tecnica libera sul campo, altri calcio tennis, altri torello e altri ancora cross e tiri in porta”.

POMERIGGIO – “L’allenamento pomeridiano è iniziato in sala video con un approfondimento tattico in vista del match di sabato sera, per poi proseguire sul campo con esercizi sul possesso palla e una partitella a campo ridotto. Presente a bordocampo il direttore sportivo nerazzurro Piero Ausilio”.

“What happens after June will be a decision made by all parties who want the best for me, but I will have the final say.” These are the words of Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez to Ole, clarifying his position on the upcoming negotiations that will see him take the final steps to becoming an Inter player.

There were doubts regarding the timing of the deal raised yesterday by Victor Blance, the President of the Argentinian side, who suggested that there was a possibility that the player would remain in Argentina to continue to participate in the Copa Libertadores. This idea was shut down immediately by Carlos Yaque, a representative of the player, who described this hypothesis as “99% impossible.” It appeared as if the decision rests entirely in the hands of the Nerazzurri, although this latest quote suggests that the Bahia Blanca native intends to make his own decision about his destiny.

According to the Argentine paper, the request of the Racing president was not immediately rejected by the Nerazzurri. In fact, unlike other occasions, the club have chosen not to respond to the request at all as yet.

Amidst all the confusion, one thing for certain is Lautaro’s dream to with the Copa Libertadores with his beloved Racing Club. This has come closer to reality as the side are almost certain to qualify for the Round of 16, thanks in no small part to his goals. Pressure is being applied by both executives and players from Racing to convince the striker to remain with the club for another six months. Further encouragement will no doubt come from the fans during upcoming matches against Arsenal and Colón. Everyone involved in the club is desperate to keep the player in South America.
