Sampdoria President Ferrero: “Inter & Napoli Want Torreira”

Sampdoria President, Massimo Ferrero was interviewed by RMC Sport, where he spoke about a few different topics such as midfielder Lucas Torreira’s future as well as Saturday’s match at the San Siro between Inter and Juventus.

Ferrero was asked about Napoli’s reported interest in coach Marco Giampaolo as well as the Uruguayan international midfielder stating that: “If they want both, they just have to pay. Torreira is a player that is talked about much, many clubs have asked about him, but we are waiting for June. Something will happen. Clearly, the last decision is up to the player himself. Napoli, Inter and other teams, everyone wants him. We value him along the lines of Patrik Schick, but if he does not work out at Roma they will kill me.”

Ferrero also talked about the events last Saturday at the San Siro: “Daniele Orsato is one of the best referees in existence, as was Nicola Rizzoli. I have not seen Inter vs Juventus and I cannot judge from the newspaper reports, but I just say that he’s a great referee, I do not know what happened to him on Saturday.”

Galatasaray’s President: “Inter Could Evaluate Nagatomo As Much As Maradona”

While speaking at a press conference, Galatasaray President, Mustafa Cengiz spoke about Yuto Nagatomo’s current situation at Galatasaray. He stated that the player is happy in Turkey and that the club has benefited from his loan spell so far, in which they have increased the clubs outreach to the people of Nagatomo’s home country, Japan.

“He is happy here, he is a really great person. He came to us, he did not think about the idea of returning to Italy. Since he has been here, Istanbul has become a popular destination for Japanese people, even their Minister of Economy, when he came here, began to ask about him. We received thanks from the Japanese Embassy, but what we say about him could be said again by the Italians tomorrow.

“Regarding his redemption clause, we have not yet had a meeting with Inter. In normal circumstances, they could also ask for the money they would ask for Maradona instead of stopping at the already established figures, and I hope we can close everything with mutual satisfaction.”

Inter’s Gagliardini Could Recover For Lazio Clash

Inter’s medical team have delivered some good news regarding Roberto Gagliardini’s injury after tests results yesterday showed that the former Atalanta player is recovering better than expected Sky Sport Italia report.

According to the report, Gagliardini, who hurt his right thigh against Cagliari, could be fit to play in the final match of the season away against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in what could be a play-off for the coveted fourth spot.

It is reported further, however, that he will only be called upon if the match is decisive for whether or not Inter are still with a chance of qualifying for next seasons Champions League. Gagliardini has been ruled out for two of the final three fixtures, if he is indeed ready to return for the last match against Lazio.

As it stands, Inter and four points behind Lazio, who have 70 points with three games remaining of the Serie A season.

Argentina National Team Coach Sampaoli To Meet With Icardi In Milano

Argentina national team coach, Jorge Sampaoli, will meet soon with Inter captain Mauro Icardi in Milano during his current tour of Italy, Sky Sport Italia report.

According to the report, Sampaoli met with Juventus players Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain in Turin earlier this week, and will now head to Milano to meet with the Nerazzurri striker. It remains to be seen after this meeting if the former Sevilla coach will soften his stance taken about a month and a half ago regarding the possibility of including Icardi in his squad for this summers FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Sky Sport report further that Icardi could be considered for the 35 man pre-selection squad that will be announced next week, on May 14th, but conclude that it is very unlikely that Icardi will be called up to the final squad as Sampaoli believes that he has better options to choose from for the Albiceleste’s attack.

Davide Santon Likely To Start Against Udinese

Inter manager Luciano Spalletti will have to face Udinese away at the Dacia Arena on Sunday’s Serie A early 12.30 CET kick-off fixture, with a reduced squad.

With Roberto Gagliardini injured as well as Matias Vecino and Danilo D’Ambrosio suspended, Spalletti is forced to make two changes to the lineup that started against Juventus last Saturday. In midfield Rafinha, Brozovic and Borja Valero are expected to start, but Spalletti is yet to decide who he will choose for the left back position, as his choices are Davide Santon or Henrique Dalbert.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Spalletti is leaning towards selecting Santon over the Brazilian full-back. According to the report, Spalletti prefers Santon over Dalbert despite the Italian full-back’s mistakes against Juventus.

Inter are trailing Lazio in fourth spot by four points and are still with a chance of overtaking the Biancocelesti in the race to qualify for the group stages of next season’s Champions League but have zero margin of error against an Udinese who are only three points above the relegation zone.

Musa Barrow

Il sito “GazzaMercato.it” accosta il giovane attaccante dell’Atalanta Musa Barrow all’Inter.
