Inter Have Two Options If They Wish To Keep Rafinha

Inter are studying two different options that would enable them to keep hold of Rafinha for the following season, according to Catalan newspaper Sport.

Rafinha joined the Nerazzurri on an initial six-month loan deal in the January transfer window and has impressed everybody during his first half-season in Italy, but Inter cannot afford to pay the €38 million they would need to pay Barcelona in order to make the move permanent.

Despite this, the club have not given up on holding onto the 25 year-old and are looking at ways that they can get around their Financial Fair Play restrictions.

Sport write on Friday that sporting director Piero Ausilio intends to renegotiate the terms of the agreement Inter reached back in January, which could be facilitated both by the fact that Rafinha wants to stay in Milan and by Barcelona’s lack of alternative offers for the player.

Should the Catalans agree to revisit the previous deal, there are two options Inter could pursue: either a permanent deal worth much less than €38 million, or an extension of the loan deal that is due to expire on 30 June.

Inter Face Competition From Roma & Napoli For Simone Verdi

Inter face stiff competition from Roma and Napoli in the race to sign Bologna forward Simone Verdi, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Verdi has enjoyed an excellent season with the Rossoblu in which he has scored 10 goals and 10 assists and is one of the players Piero Ausilio is following as he looks to reinforce the Nerazzurri’s options in attack.

However the Rome-based publication reports that Inter are not the only club interested in signing the 25 year-old, with Roma and Napoli also keen to secure his signature.

“The auction that will take place for Verdi along with Bologna’s valuation of the player (€25 million) prevent Inter from feeling at ease,” they write.

Along with Verdi, Inter and Bologna have also been in talks recently over Zorya Luhansk goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, whom Inter could sign as Samir Handanovic’s heir and send to the Rossoblu in order for him to gain some experience on loan.

Bologna are also said to be interested in Andrea Pinamonti, whom Inter are likely to sell this summer in order to help them respect UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

Galatasaray Expected To Make Nagatomo Move Permanent

Galatasaray are expected to sign Inter full-back Yuto Nagatomo on a permanent basis after having the Japanese player on loan during the second half of the season.

Nagatomo left the Nerazzurri during the January transfer window in the search for game-time that would help him secure his place at this summer’s World Cup, eventually signing for the Turkish giants on loan with an option to buy.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Galatasaray are keen to make the deal permanent and will soon pay the €3 million required to take him off Inter’s books.

Inter are required to raise €40 million in capital gains from player sales before 30 June in order to respect the terms of their Financial Fair Play agreement with UEFA, and Nagatomo’s departure would provide some help in that sense.

Another small contribution will come from Geoffrey Kondogbia’s move to Valencia, which was officially made permanent on Thursday for a fee of €25 million.

Lautaro Martinez: “Inter Are Everything I Wanted”

Lautaro Martinez has assured that ‘Inter are everything that I wanted’ upon his arrival in Milan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Martinez flew into Italy on Thursday to complete a medical ahead of his €22 million move from Racing Avellaneda, having played his final match for the Argentine side in the Copa Libertadores during the week.

Racing have been pressurising Inter to allow them to keep the forward, described as one of the best young prospects in Argentine football, until the end of the calendar year, when the South American club season finishes.

However the Nerazzurri are not willing to make such a concession and will make sure Martinez is at Luciano Spalletti’s disposal from the beginning of pre-season training in July.

Moreover, the player himself is thought to want to start life in Serie A as soon as possible and is reported to have told Racing president Diego Milito and Inter’s management on Thursday that the Italian giants represent everything he wanted.

“Today Martinez will meet Javier Zanetti,” Gazzetta write, “while in the evening he could speak to the Italian media.

“What’s certain is that he will wear the no. 10 shirt – another demonstration of how much Inter believe in a player who in Argentina is thought to be ready to fight for a place in the Selección with the likes of Aguero and Higuain.

Inter Target Barella Will Cost €40 Million In Cash

Inter will have to pay €40 million in cash if they wish to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolò Barella, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Barella has caught the Nerazzurri’s eye after a successful season with the Sardinian side and is one of the players sporting director Piero Ausilio is targeting as he looks to reinforce Luciano Spalletti’s midfield options.

Inter’s intention would be to lower Cagliari’s asking price of €40 million by including some promising young players as makeweights in the deal, such as Andrea Pinamonti and Xian Emmers, as that would make it easier for them to respect UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

“Tommaso Giulini [Cagliari president], however, does not like this idea at all,” Gazzetta write. “Barella is valued at €40 million without any discounts, and most of all without any makeweights.

“With these conditions it’s unlikely that Barella will end up in Milan. Roma, however, could be a potential destination for him; were they to make an important sale this summer he could come in very handy for them.”

Inter Recommence Pursuit Of €40 Million-Rated Nainggolan

Inter have recommenced their pursuit of Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Belgian was one of Luciano Spalletti’s key transfer targets last summer but neither Roma nor Nainggolan himself were willing to countenance a move, forcing the Nerazzurri to go after other players instead.

However Thursday’s private meeting between sporting director Piero Ausilio and the player’s agent Alessandro Beltrami, along with the praise Spalletti reserved for him during his post-season press conference, leads the Milanese publication to believe that Inter will make another attempt to sign Nainggolan this summer.

“Spalletti had already put Nainggolan at the top of his transfer list last summer, but there weren’t the conditions to satisfy his request,” Gazzetta write.

“Now the situation is different. Rafinha may have impressed everyone but his future at the club is in doubt due to Inter’s financial problems [related to Financial Fair Play], which is why they are interested to find out whether they can enter into talks with Roma this time around.

“It is thought Nainggolan would cost €40 million, but at this stage the important thing is to obtain the player’s consent for a move. The rest would come afterwards.

“For sure though yesterday’s appointment [between Ausilio and Beltrami] will have pleased Spalletti, who said in his press conference that ‘Ausilio knows full well what we need to do, despite the fact we need to balance the books as well.

“Barella is a good player, and so is Nainggolan.”
