Gazzetta dello Sport reports on the data of KPMG’s study on European Clubs, underlining the growth of Napoli, which has become the Club of the second highest value in Italy, behind the usual Juventus but surpassing Roma, Inter and Milan, with a value of 518 million euros in 17th of the overall standings. Manchester United continue to lead at 3,255 million, with only one Italian Club within the top ten. Juventus have been able to create a big economic gap between themselves and the rest of Italy. The Bianconeri are ninth in Europe, worth 1.3 billion (1,302 million to be precise), that is almost three times as much as the next biggest in Italy, Napoli (518), followed by Milan (514), Inter (491), Roma (455) and Lazio (241) being the last of the Italians in the 32 Club ranking by KPMG.

The value used in order to draw up the rankings is the so-called enterprise value. For example, the sum of contributions of the shareholders in capital gain and debit balance. An increase for Napoli, whose valuation has grown by 27%, were from the profits of 2016-17 after the sale of Gonzalo Higuain. The KPMG study, is based on the economic data of last season. De Laurentiis’ company gained 101 million in pre-tax profits: with only Leicester in Europe doing better (108). On the other hand, Milan saw a minus 70 on the latest income statement, a huge deterioration in comparison to the season before (-6%).

Roma is stable. Whereas, Inter have increase by 14% thanks to a boom in commercial revenue, thanks to Suning. The new sponsors have been the biggest contributing factor.

Meanwhile, Juventus continue to march up, now the Agnelli Club is worth 7% more, thanks to success in 2016-17, characterised by the money gain from the Champions League and sale of Paul Pogba.

È una partita che abbiamo perso noi e non ha vinto l’Inter, ci siamo fatti male da soli perché una partita così importante a dodici minuti dalla fine la vinci 2-1, siamo andati nel pallone per un rinvio sbagliato, un calcio di rigore e un’espulsione. Adesso si sta addebitando la colpa a Stefan de Vrij, è vero che ha fatto un errore evidente ma anche altri errori ci sono stati, è una partita gestita male dove l’Inter facendo poco e niente è riuscita a qualificarsi. Io trovo umiliante anche per il tifoso interista che l’Inter gioisca per essere arrivata quarta, perché la quarta posizione adesso ti dà la Champions League e i soldi, ma vent’anni fa o trent’anni fa l’Inter quarta rischiava l’allenatore di essere cacciato via a metà campionato. Come posizione è poco e niente, arrivi quarta e vai a prendere i soldi della Champions League ma come livello è minimo per una squadra come l’Inter, eppure Luciano Spalletti passa per quello che ha fatto una grandissima stagione. È arrivato quarto nel campionato italiano e doveva arrivare quinto, ma per una squadra come l’Inter il quarto posto è una cosa minima perché lo dice la storia. I soldi fanno passare il quarto posto diverso da trent’anni fa: un conto è il risultato sportivo e un conto quello economico, sportivamente l’Inter non ha fatto niente e a livello economico risana un po’ il bilancio. Non puoi dire che la stagione dell’Inter, anche se va in Champions League, è un qualcosa di straordinario, per la Lazio sarebbe stato più importante».

After the clash at the Stadio Olimpico for Champions League qualificaion, both Inter and Lazio will engage in another contest. The two are to go to battle over Italian midfielder Bryan Cristante as per Tuttosport.

It is understood that the player would like to work with Luciano Spalletti, while Lazio have also been following him for quite some time.

The renewal of Spalletti is thought to be not far away from completion. The two major Italian Sports newspapers, Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, both agree that Inter will move forward with the Tuscan technician.

After the post-match celebrations in Rome, Spalletti refused to speak to the media but a press conference is scheduled for tomorrow.

In short, the announcement is imminent. Spalletti had convinced everyone with his work, regardless of getting Champions League.

“Once the celebrations are over, planning for the next season will begin. Spalletti will make an appeal to Management for a clear understanding of their objectives for next season”, as understood by CorSport.

This is not only key for the coach but also the fans who supported Inter unquestionably through the campaign, once again achieving the highest average attendances. It is not impossible to reach Antonello’s own objective (“We have a project to build a competitive team in Italy and Europe over the years, the Champions League is an accelerator and why not, next year we could even think about the Championship”) but to succeed, as explained above, there is the need to build a high class squad within the limits of the settlement agreement.
