Gazzetta dello Sport have taken a look at how Champions League qualification will affect Inter’s summer transfer dealings.

As a result of Inter’s qualification, there will be around an extra €40 million available in the budget but the Milan based newspaper insist that this will not mean that the Nerazzurri will be splashing the cash freely.

Inter are looking to add a winger to their ranks and Ajax’s Justin Kluivert, Sassuolo’s Matteo Politano, Bologna’s Simone Verdi and Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa are all ideas. It is understood however that Kluivert will only become a concrete option for Inter should one of Ivan Perisic or Antonio Candreva depart the club.

Gazzetta also bring an update on the current situations regarding the futures of loanees Rafinha and Joao Cancelo. Inter are more likely to find a solution for Rafinha whereas it will not be so easy for Joao Cancelo. Should Cancelo not be redeemed, Inter will set their sights on adding Atletico Madrid’s Sime Vrsaljko.

Tottenham Hotspur have spoken with Ivan Perisic’s agent Fali Ramidani over the possibility of the Croatian winger leaving to join their club in the summer according to FCInterNews.it.

The North London club are looking to add a top winger to their already strong team but as things stand, Perisic is not on the transfer market and Inter are understood to not even be interested in entertaining the possibility of him departing the club.

Last summer Spurs’ Premier League associates Manchester United were extremely keen on signing the former Wolfsburg player. However, despite the Red Devils best efforts to bring his price down, Inter held firm and kept a hold of him.

In the last season, the 29-year-old made a total of 39 appearances in all competitions for the Nerazzurri and made a vital contribution to Inter qualifying for the Champions League by scoring 11 goals as well as tallying the same number of assists.

Marco Tronchetti Provera, the chief executive of one of Inter’s long standing sponsors Pirelli has revealed that Inter’s Champions League qualification will mean the tyre manufacturer’s sponsorship will be upgraded.

Inter secured their place in European football’s top club competition for next season with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Sunday night in the final game of the 2017/18 Serie A season. It is the first time since the 2011/12 season that Inter will feature in the Champions League.

“Sponsorship has more value in a European context. For someone who is a passionate Interista it brings me great satisfaction and it is so good to see all those who have committed themselves achieve this goal. The contract is linked to the results so there will be a further upgrade.”

Pirelli have been one of the Nerazzurri’s main sponsors since 1995, the year Massimo Moratti assumed presidency of the club.

Valencia manager Marcelino has reaffirmed that the Spanish club will be taking up their option to redeem Geoffrey Kondogbia but conceded he is unsure as to what Inter will be doing with regard to keeping a hold of Joao Cancelo.

“Inter has until May 31 to exercise their purchase option for Joao Cancelo and this is also the case for us with Geoffrey Kondogbia. They [Inter] have not decided what they will do but we will make it [redeeming Kondogbia] official.”

Marcelino did not however state when Valencia will activate their option but with only eight days until d-day, an official announcement can only be around the corner.

Both Cancelo & Kondogbia have excelled at their respective loan clubs this season. Inter’s chances of keeping Cancelo seemed nothing more than a pipeline dream over a week ago but with Champions League qualification in the bag, Inter’s chances of keeping the Portuguese have certainly increased. Valencia meanwhile have long made it clear that they will pay the €25 million fee that will allow the Frenchman to keep playing his football at the Mestalla.

Intervenuto in collegamento da Torino nel corso di “Zona 11 PM” su Rai Sport +, il giornalista Giampiero Timossi ha analizzato a due giorni di distanza lo scontro Champions League fra Lazio e Inter. Secondo lui il ribaltone finale sarebbe stato determinato dalla lucidità dei due allenatori.

SCELTE IN PANCHINA – «La Lazio era più bella, sicuramente, e credo meritasse per quanto fatto vedere in tutto il campionato un posto in Champions League, però nella partita decisiva non credo tanto solo alla mancanza di personalità e all’esperienza dei giocatori: credo che nel momento decisivo si sia vista la differenza tra un allenatore come Simone Inzaghi, che sicuramente diventerà uno dei migliori allenatori ma che in questo momento ha qualche problema di esperienza, e un allenatore che ha già dimostrato e continua a dimostrare di avere grandi qualità e grandi capacità di leggere i momenti chiave della partita come Luciano Spalletti. Io credo che, al di là degli episodi, alcuni cambi di Inzaghi siano stati poco azzeccati, soprattutto in questa partita che decideva l’intera stagione. Se dobbiamo pensare a quanto fatto e a quali sono state le risorse della Lazio in questo campionato e negli ultimi anni sicuramente meritava questo posto in Champions League. L’Inter è una squadra che delude, perché comunque sono anni che cerca di rinforzare il proprio organico ed è qualche anno può contare anche su una delle proprietà che ha le maggiori disponibilità nel nostro calcio. Sono anni che l’Inter, da Roberto Mancini in poi, acquista giocatori, quindi forse qualcosa non funziona sia nel mercato di gennaio sia in quello estivo. Io credo che la Lazio abbia pagato semplicemente un po’ di inesperienza da parte del proprio allenatore, che diventerà un grande allenatore e probabilmente era anche il tecnico indicato per la panchina della Juventus in caso di addio di Massimiliano Allegri, ma sicuramente dovrà crescere».
