Inter May Not Be Able To Use Man Utd’s Alexis Sanchez & Chelsea’s Victor Moses In Europa League

Inter and Roma are both at risk of losing players that they have on loan from English clubs according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Inter have Alexis Sanchez and Victor Moses on loan from Manchester United and Chelsea respectively whilst Roma have Chris Smalling and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on loan from Manchester United and Arsenal.

English clubs are against the idea of extending loan deals past the end of the domestic season and this could complicate matters for Inter and Roma, especially when it comes to the Europa League.

As things stand there is currently no international regulation regarding the extension of loans and it will ultimately come down to clubs reaching agreements with one another.

The report explains that English clubs are reluctant to allow the players out on loan to stay at clubs for the remainder of the Europa League as it could hamper their own chances of success.

It also goes on to explain that Alexis Sanchez’s situation is the most complex of all. He currently earns €12 million a year, of which Inter agreed to pay €5 million of for the duration of the loan.

Almost €5 million gross would be required to cover his wages for July and August, which is far more than Inter would have otherwise paid if the terms of the agreement remained the same.

Inter are therefore at risk of losing him which would mean they would have reduced options for the attack in the Europa League.

Ezequiel Carboni: “Dream Come True To See My Children At Inter”

Ezequiel Carboni has revealed that it is a dream come true for him and his wife to see sons Franco and Valentin join Inter.

Inter added Franco, who is the oldest Carboni son, to their ranks at the end of last year whilst they wrapped up a deal for middle son Valentin, who now only needs to put pen to paper on a contract to finalise things, in the past week.

“For me and my wife it is a dream come true to see my children at Inter,” he explained in an interview with Argentine broadcaster TyC Sports, yesterday afternoon.

Reports elsewhere in the media have stated that Inter will also bring the youngest Carboni son Cristiano to the club and Carboni senior has also recently confirmed in another interview that he will be joining Inter in a scouting capacity.

The former midfielder is currently a youth team coach at Catania, who Inter have signed two of the three brothers from. He has also had spells as manager of both Lanus and Argentinos Juniors in his native Argentina.

Juan Foyth’s Agent: “He’s Good Enough For Inter Who Sought Him Before He Signed For Tottenham”

Juan Foyth’s agent Claudio Curti has revealed that if Inter were to express an interest in signing him, he and his client would listen to what the Nerazzurri had to say.

Inter have been linked with a move for the Tottenham Hotspur central defender in the past and in an interview with Italian news outlet PassioneInter.com, Curti has confirmed that whilst Inter are not currently interested he believes his client has what it takes to play for the Nerazzurri.

“Inter sought him before he signed for Tottenham. I know Ausilio,” he began the interview.

“Currently the Nerazzurri are not interested in him but if there is any expression of interest in the future, we will listen to it. Juan can safely play in a club as big as Inter. He has the personality and the technical qualities to do it.”

The 22-year-old has been with his current employers since 2017 and has a contract with them until the end of the 2021/22 season.

This season the Argentine national team player has found playing time significantly limited, largely due to injury and Curti went on to explain that he and his client will hold talks with Spurs at the end of the season to decide what is best for him.

“We are currently waiting to end the season. Then we’ll talk to the club to evaluate the best solution for Juan.”

In seven appearances across all competitions this term, Foyth has made no goal contributions but has helped Spurs keep two clean sheets.

Ex-Nerazzurri Defender Fulvio Collovati: “Inter Could Return To The Serie A Title Race”

Former Inter central defender Fulvio Collovati believes that Inter could well get themselves back into the race for the Serie A title.

The Serie A season got back underway this past weekend following a three month Coronavirus enforced stop and Inter resumed the campaign in the best possible way with a 2-1 victory over Sampdoria at San Siro.

The victory has brought Inter within six points of league leaders Juventus with 12 games to play and Collovati believes that the pandemic has cancelled out any advantages sides had.

“There could be some surprises and even a return of Inter in the title race. The pandemic has cancelled all the differences, we have seen an unrecognisable Juventus,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Musica Television show ‘Taca La Marca’, earlier on today.

Collovati also paid tribute to the late Mario Corso, who passed away aged 78 this past weekend.

“He was my manager at Inter in 1984. He was a character very close to the players and of great depth, I am sorry for his loss.”

Collovati joined Inter in 1982 from city rivals AC Milan and spent the next four years with the club before departing for 1986.

During his time with the club, Collovati made 167 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored seven goals.

The Forgotten Faces At Inter – Dennis Bergkamp: The Nerazzurri’s Non-Flying Dutchman

In this series of articles we will be reminding you of players you forgot ever donned the black and blue of the Nerazzurri, as well as discussing and dissecting their time at Inter as well as the rest of their careers.

Following last week’s look at Laurent Blanc, we come to the final part in our series of looking at forgotten players of Inter. This week comes on the turn of Dutch striker Dennis Bergkamp who spent two years in Milan with the Nerazzurri.

Bergkamp took the traditional route of starting his club career with Ajax, the giants of his own country, as they made the transition from Rinus Michels to Johann Cruyff.

Following his breakthrough into the first team, Bergkamp became a mainstay in a side that won the Eredivise, KNVB cup, UEFA Cup and also the European Cup Winners Cup.

Individually he became something of a goal scoring machine. Bergkamp scored more than 20 goals in all competitions in his final three seasons with the side which made him much sought after over Europe.

As with many players that have come out of the Ajax academy, an offer came in that couldn’t be refused for Bergkamp.

Inter parted with £7.1 million to bring the man to San Siro, alongside his team mate Wim Jonk. It is reported that Bergkamp turned down the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus to sign with Inter as he felt that the sides style of play suited him better.

This certainly appeared accurate as Bergkamp made a solid and consistent start to his time with Inter, forming part of a three pronged attack alongside Salvatore Schillachi and Ruben Sosa.

Inter’s coach Osvaldo Bagnoli soon started to tinker with the side and the pressure started to mount as results went against Inter.

Inter’s league form nosedived mid season culminating in the sacking of Bagnoli who found himself replaced by 1982 World Cup winner Gianpiero Marini.

Inter finished a shockingly low 13th place in 1993/94, just one point above a relegation place, but for Bergkamp it wasn’t all bad.

On the European stage, Inter managed to win the UEFA Cup, beating Austria Salzburg over two legs with Bergkamp being named as the player of the tournament following his eight goals on Inter’s route to glory.

Despite a troubling start to his Inter career as they toiled away in Serie A, Bergkamp managed 18 goals in all competitions and many Nerazzuri fans were hopeful that there was more to come.

The following campaign however brought disaster for the Dutch striker as he started to become a target for the Italian media when Inter were floundering.

Ottavio Bianchi took over the hot seat for the 1994/95 campaign and Inter’s league form saw minimal improvement.

Bergkamp came off the back of a World Cup summer with a number of nagging injuries and struggled to break into the starting lineup. The media began to speculate about his future and targeted him for appearing withdrawn on the field and criticised his unwillingness to participate in any post match interviews.

After a number of poor performances, the media set about labeling him a ‘donkey’ with one publication renaming their ‘donkey of the week’ award to the worst player of that particular match day as the ‘Bergkamp of the week’.

Inter rallied to finish the season in sixth place but failed to retain the UEFA Cup. On a personal note, Bergkamp produced a measly return of just five league goals and thus came questions over his future.

In the summer of 1995, Massimo Moratti completed his takeover of the club and brought about his vision of totally reshaping the club.

There were numerous casualties in the coaching and playing staff as Moratti brought about substantial change and Bergkamp became one of those.

Inter sold the Dutchman to English side Arsenal for £7.5 million, making profit on a player they had deemed surplus to requirements.

Bergkamp never looked back. Despite his fear of flying leaving him missing the odd European away day, Bergkamp was a huge success in North West London.

He was part of Arsenal’s infamous Invicibles side of 2003/04 as well as picking up three FA Cup winners medals.

Dennis-Bergkamp-Inter-03-1024x683.jpg PUBLICATIONxNOTxINxITA

Bergkamp also scored one of the all time great Premier League strikes with his stunning turn and shot to destroy Newcastle’s Nikos Dabizas in 2001.

Upon his retirement in 2006, Bergkamp was inaugurated with his image being added to the wall of legends at Arsenal’s brand new Emirates Stadium. For his country he finished up with an impressive record of
37 international goals in 73 caps for Oranje.

As with many over this series, Bergkamp went onto achieve success following his departure from Inter.

His career at Arsenal and Ajax and his exploits for his country make Bergkamp one of modern football’s most gifted and well respected strikers. His ability to play as well as contribute goals saw him usher in an argument for strikers to be more than just goal getters.

It again simply strikes a case of wrong place wrong time for him at Inter. A managerial merry go round in a pre- Moratti world and being part of a side that produced Inter’s lowest league finish didn’t aide his reputation.

Had Bergkamp been a Moratti man he may have managed one more year to prove himself in Milan but it wasn’t to be. Another crazy case of a player who just didn’t fit into blue and black stripes but just about any other.

Ex-Nerazzurri Defender Angloma: “Inter Was A Beautiful Time In My Life, Moratti A Gentleman”

In an interview with Italian news outlet PassioneInter.com, former Inter defender Jocelyn Angloma has reflected on his time with the club among a number of other things.

“Inter was a beautiful time in my life. I was able to grow even more after my experience at Torino, in a great team. I wanted to stay longer, but I couldn’t do it after only a year I had to go to Valencia,” he began the interview.

“From that moment I have always followed the Nerazzurri, I have seen them grow. We reached the UEFA Cup final, the year after my farewell they raised the cup but Inter always remains in my heart, for me it was a pleasure and an honour to play in Milan.”

Angloma, who is currently the manager of the Guadeloupe national team, was then asked what his best memory was from his single season with the Nerazzurri club.

“We didn’t win titles, but we had a good season. We played a final, done good things in the league, and I played with champions such as Pagliuca, Zamorano, Djorkaeff, Ince and Winter. We had a team to do great things, even if we didn’t make it all the way. Then there was Moratti, a gentleman. I miss him very much.”

The former French national team player then spoke further on former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti.

“We had a normal relationship, but he knew football well and established a special relationship with the players. He was always present, he would speak in the right way, I really liked this side of him.

“We had a normal man-to-man relationship, but on the one hand it resembled that of a father with his son. The players always had this affection for him.”

He then went on to speak about former Inter teammate and current Inter vice president Javier Zanetti and his memories of the Argentine.

“I have a great memory of Zanetti, he was a great player and I also really like the job he is doing now. It is important for Inter to have someone like him who wrote history and who then remains as part of the management.

“I was able to play with Javier and he was incredible. He could play at full back, in the midfield and he even once played in the attack. We had a beautiful relationship.”

Next Angloma went on to speak about former Inter manager Roy Hodgson, who was in charge whilst he was at the club.

“He was certainly treated a little badly, because we didn’t have the results that a team like Inter must have, especially with world class players.

“He knew how to deal with the players, he was very affectionate. A team like Inter needs someone with great personality and he had it but he was missing something. He couldn’t finish the job as he wanted to but that’s how it is. Big teams often change managers.”

Next Angloma spoke on two more of his former teammates, Youri Djorkaeff and Ivan Zamorano.

“I already knew Djorkaeff from the national team, I knew full well what he was able to do. I will always remember his goal against Roma.

“Zamorano? The Helicopter, Bam Bam Zamorano! He did great things he was our goalscorer. That was a real team, there was a real friendship in that team, we went out to eat and every now and then to part. The two of them were two champions.”

He was asked about whether he still follows Inter to this day.

“I have played in seven teams and I still follow all seven of them. In particular, Inter, who are a great team and play football well.”

In conclusion he shared his thoughts on the current Inter team.

“This team has something special about them. This year I thought the Nerazzurri could win, they had started off great, but in the long run they lost a lot.

“It was difficult for Conte to arrive and win immediately but I know that he does everything to win and even now he will do everything to give Juventus a hard time. Next year Inter can return to the Champions League again and this is very nice for the fans, it’s fundamental.”
