Italian Media Claims Inter Reignite Interest In Signing SPAL Winger Mohamed Fares

Inter are interested in signing SPAL winger Mohamed Fares, according to a report from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are interested in the 24-year-old Algerian winger, who is contracted to SPAL until 2022.

The Milanese club were previously interested in the player and even closed out a deal for him worth €12 million, before he suffered a serious injury that killed the deal then.

Torino and Fiorentina are both interested in Fares as well, the report continues, but Inter have now returned to the table after the 24-year-old’s price dropped. Fares has only made two appearances across all competitions so far this season for SPAL, for a total of 92 minutes.

In that time, he has struggled to show off his qualities, although there is no doubt that the player is strong. He suffered a cruciate ligament rupture last summer that forced him to miss 25 games this season.

Inter Defender Milan Skriniar: “We Focus On The Serie A & The Europa League”

Inter defender Milan Skriniar discussed the Nerazzurri’s final games of the season, the Coronavirus stop and how he was named the best Slovakian player of last year in an interview with Slovakian newspaper Sport published yesterday, as reported by FcInterNews.

“We still have many games to play before the end of the season, anything can happen. We believe in our skills and will do our best to be as strong as possible at the end of the season.”

The 25-year-old then spoke about how the team trained during the quarantine period.

“Even during the quarantine, we trained constantly, although it is true that we did it at home. We started gradually with individual training, then squad training. I think we are well prepared for these commitments that await us.”

He highlighted how the squad are all excited to get back onto the pitch after so long on the sidelines.

“We couldn’t wait to get back to the game after a long break. Mainly because we can finally do what we love again. I think the circumstances and the situation will improve not only in terms of football, but also in terms of life in general.”

Skriniar commented on how he won the award for the best Slovakian player of 2019.

“I was very happy to win this award for the first time. It certainly helped me not to stop during the quarantine, but to train conscientiously, even if only at home.

“My teammates when they saw the news on the Internet congratulated me, but at that moment we couldn’t celebrate because of the restrictions. When we went back to training, we didn’t talk about it anymore.”

The 25-year-old Slovakian defender touched on the Nerazzurri’s elimination from the Coppa Italia last weekend.

“We are very disappointed, also for our fans, that we didn’t manage to make it to the final. Now we have no choice but to focus on the league and the Europa League to finish the season in the best possible way.

“I think we deserved more, we also had more chances, unfortunately we didn’t manage to score. That’s what football is also about.”

He briefly touched on the rumours linking him with a move away from Milan in the upcoming summer transfer window.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t want to comment on any kind of rumor at the moment.”

Finally, Skriniar joked about his thick beard and almost hipster styled appearance.

“Inspired by Lionel Messi? No no, I wasn’t inspired by anyone. It occurred to me that I would try something similar. In the meantime, I’ve shaved again.”

Skriniar has made 33 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2852 minutes. In that time, he has provided one assist.

Inter Midfielder Nicolo Barella: “Happy With The Result But We Need To Close Out Games Earlier”

Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV after the game.

“Did I get kicked? It happened. Both teams were a bit tired in the final moments of the game, it’s fine that in a tackle one player arrives a bit late. It’s football.”

The 23-year-old Italian, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2024, discussed how the squad need to find a way to close out games more comfortably, rather than letting them remain open until the final whistle.

“We should have tried to close it earlier. You have to close out these games. Bringing them all the way to the end can be dangerous. We were good at suffering like a great team. We’re happy with the result.”

The former Caligari midfielder talked about the role of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and how he has adjusted.

“We’ve been trying this for a long time to get Christian between the lines and get the ball to him. That’s what he can impact.”

Finally, Barella spoke about the teachings of coach Antonio Conte and how the Nerazzurri need the confidence to close out games before they become a problem.

“The coach is always telling us, we need to be more clinical in front of the goal and not only the strikers. All of us. We need to find even more confidence to close out the games earlier.”

Barella has impressed in his debut season with Inter under coach Antonio Conte this season. The 23-year-old Italian midfielder has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2216 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided six assists.

Christian Eriksen: “Need To Improve & Score Goals, I’m Proud To Be Here & That Inter Wanted Me”

Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria and his performance in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

“I need to improve some things, I need to score goals. I don’t count that one against Napoli as a goal, but a lucky shot. I’m happy with the way things are going.”

The 28-year-old Dane, who joined the Milanese club in the winter transfer window from Tottenham in a deal worth €20 million, talked about the move.

“Did Inter make the right choice in January? I’m proud to be here and that Inter wanted me. Everyone has been very welcoming to me, I’m a bit sad about the lack of fans.”

The Inter midfielder touched on the mentality he has found at the Nerazzurri and how his position has changed under coach Antonio Conte.

“I’m happy with the mentality that I found here. I’m getting used to it, we’ve changed our attitude. My position has changed. In the first half I had a lot of space, in the second half Samp changed their formation and I had less space.”

Finally, Eriksen gave his prediction for the winner of this season. Inter are six points behind rivals and league leaders Juventus and five points behind second place Lazio.

“Inter for the Scudetto.”

Eriksen has impressed since the Coronavirus stop, after initially disappointing with the Milanese club. The 28-year-old struggled to show off his qualities after arriving in Milan in January, but in the last three months has been working closely with coach Antonio Conte to understand the tactical system in place in the club.

Inter Coach Antonio Conte: “I Always Tell My Players To Kill Off The Opponents On The Pitch”

Inter coach Antonio Conte discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game, aired late last night

“Kill the opponent, I always tell my players this. You have the chance, even against Napoli the match was clear, you create a lot, 1-1 and you go home and you’re subject to criticism.

“Today, you have to be determined, cynical, because one situation and you’re in trouble. You go from a 3-0 to a 2-1, this game was vital for us.

“We don’t have room to make mistakes, we had opportunities to make the game 3-0 and we didn’t take advantage of them. We want to get back in the game, we’re six points behind and there are 12 games to go. My wish is to have everyone at our disposal, we want to play our cards right, knowing that the margins of error are minimal.”

The former Chelsea and Juventus coach highlighted how the Milanese club need to become more clinical if they are to compete with the very best.

“These games must be a signal, when we can kill the opponent, we must do it. It’s not personality, but if you want to be a hero and win you have to learn how to be evil and when you have the chance you have to score goals and kill off the opponent.”

He touched on the title race and how the Nerazzurri have started to close the gap between themselves and rivals Juventus.

“Just that they say that we’re out of the title race, we were nine points behind, if we had drawn the direct clashes against Juventus, we’d be equal to them.

“The difference is there, we have room for growth, I’m satisfied with what I’ve seen. We did well, but if we want to do something extraordinary, we have to be more clinical. I have great confidence, we need poison, we need to feed hope.”

Conte spoke about how the team worked well in the offensive phase of the game this evening and the performance of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who bagged an assist after setting up Romelu Lukaku at the start of the game.

“I am satisfied with the offensive department, we created a lot. I think they had a good game. Eriksen could have scored a couple of goals, he has to become more clinical too, he has to find the goal as well.

“We worked both tactically and physically with him. Everyone’s happy, but I find the flaws. We have licked our wounds after Napoli, not tonight.”

The 50-year-old Italian spoke about the Nerazzurri’s rivals in the title race, Lazio and Juventus.

“Those ahead of us can make mistakes. Lazio have all the credentials to do something extraordinary. Juve have shown over the years that they’re superior, this year it’s more difficult, and this situation makes things better unexpectedly.

“For me Juve remain a very, very strong team, used to playing certain games and Lazio can do something important.”

Finally, Conte talked about his ambitions for this season and how the club could still win the league title, should they play at the top of their game.

“We want to get in there and fight until the end, we’re playing for something important. We have to think we can win, if we want to build a winning mentality, we shouldn’t give up on our goals.

“Sorry about the Coppa Italia, we deserved more. We must give our lives in every match, we must not have regrets. I’m proud to be the coach of these guys.”

Giuseppe Bergomi: “Christian Eriksen Gave A Good Performance, Conte Should Make Substitutions Sooner”

Former Inter defender Beppe Bergomi discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria and the performance of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia on the TV Show ‘Sky Calcio Club’ after the game, broadcast late last night.

“For the Scudetto, Inter have to do something miraculous. The drop in the second half is no surprise: even in the first meeting this season, the second half was always the one under their control.”

Bergomi highlighted how coach Antonio Conte should tinker with the tactical system in order to better work his midfield.

“With the 3-5-2 formation you spend a lot of energy, so the drop is symptomatic, maybe Conte should make better use of the substitutions, earlier.

“Surely, in midfield Inter are running thin, Sensi out, Brozovic out, Vecino often used, but he’s out. Even though Borja Valero always gives a lot when he plays.”

Finally, Bergomi spoke about the performance of the 28-year-old Danish midfielder Eriksen, who provided the assist for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku against Sampdoria last night.

“His defensive task was not to let Bertolacci play. In attacking, he found several quick one-twos and it proved easy to find the goal. He put in a good performance but I think he can do more. Today, though, he gave a good sign.”

Eriksen has struggled to make a significant impact in Milan since arriving from Tottenham in the January transfer window, in a deal worth €20 million.

Since the end of the Coronavirus stop, however, the Dane has impressed, starting with his performance against Napoli last weekend in the Coppa Italia semi-finals. Coach Antonio Conte changed the formation from a 3-5-2 to a 3-4-1-2 to better suit Eriksen and it seems to have made a difference for the player.

InterTV’s Roberto Scarpini: “Christian Eriksen A Completely Different Player Now Compared To January”

Roberto Scarpini, the voice of InterTV, discussed the performance of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen against Sampdoria last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV after the game.

“He is a player who seems completely different from what he looked like in January. He had to understand the movement and what Conte was asking him. He’s already taken over the rest of the team. He ran more than Brozovic against Napoli, Conte emphasized this with satisfaction.”

Scarpini touched on how the 28-year-old Danish midfielder scored directly from a corner kick against Napoli last weekend.

“This goes beyond the goal, which is always an important thing. It was the first time he scored from a corner kick, I asked him on the plane as we were coming back. He’s a player who knows how to guess the spaces well.”

The former Tottenham midfielder has finally started to adapt to coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system, with the Lecce born coach changing the formation from 3-5-2 to a 3-4-1-2, placing Eriksen behind the attacking partnership of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku.

The player bagged an assist for the Nerazzurri earlier tonight in the league clash against Sampdoria, where he impressed in his 78 minutes on the pitch.

Eriksen joined Inter in the January transfer window from Spurs in a deal worth around €20 million, a high figure considering that he only had six months left on his Tottenham deal. Despite that, Conte identified the Dane as a priority and it seems that the duo finally have an understanding.

Ex-Inter Defender Adani: “Great Match By Lautaro, Always Ready To Make The Right Decision”

Former Inter defender Daniele Adani discussed the performance of Nerazzurri striker Lautaro Martinez in the Milanese club’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria during the commentary of the game. His words were noted by Italian media outlet FcInter1908.

“Great match so by Lautaro Martinez. Oriented control, always ready to make the right choice. Good in space, great game so far.”

The 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, suffered from a lot of criticism after an incredibly disappointing performance against Napoli last weekend in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals.

Lautaro was seemingly invisible against the Partenopei and was taken off after 71 minutes to be replaced with Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez, who instantly had a greater impact on the game.

Lautaro managed to overturn some criticisms with his performance against Sampdoria tonight, with the 22-year-old scoring the second goal to guarantee the three points for the Nerazzurri. Some have suggested that the player’s form has dropped due to the interest of Barcelona, who are keen to sign the striker in the summer.

Italian Journalist Condò: “Eriksen Can Become The Third Goal Scorer That Inter Lack”

Italian journalist Paolo Condò discussed Antonio Conte’s Inter squad and the inclusion of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen in the tactical system in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

“Brozovic will be missing for a short time, his recovery is crucial. There’s big news, Conte sent a message saying he didn’t have time to include Eriksen. Then that happened, and Conte worked for Eriksen and on Eriksen.”

Condò then highlighted how Eriksen may be an important player for the former Chelsea and Juventus coach.

“Now he’s insisting on the trequartista role because Eriksen is worth it. In addition to being a great trequartista, he can become a third goal scorer that Inter lacks. Lukaku, Lautaro, and then there’s a hole and he can fill it.”

Eriksen joined the Nerazzurri in the January transfer window from Tottenham in a deal worth €20 million. Since his arrival, the player has struggled to make an impact in Milan, disappointing many. However, he has been hard at work learning the tactical system of coach Antonio Conte in the Coronavirus stop, with the hard work seemingly paying off.

Eriksen impressed against Napoli in the Coppa Italia semi-finals last weekend, scoring a goal directly from a corner and being a constant threat behind the striking partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. The Dane continued his strong performances by playing well against Sampdoria earlier tonight, providing the assist for Lukaku.
