Negotiations Between Inter & Torino Over Belotti Could Take Off If Torino Get Relegated

Negotiations between Inter and Torino over Andrea Belotti could take off in the event that the latter are relegated to Serie B according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Inter have sparked an interest in signing the Torino captain ahead of the upcoming transfer window and for the time being La Granata do not want to sell him and have every intention of building the team around him next term.

However, things could change in the event that they are relegated, at which point Torino president Urbano Cairo would no longer oppose the sale of the Italian national team striker, who has been with them since the Summer of 2015.

Belotti, who has a contract with Torino until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date this term.

In his time on the park, which totals just shy of 2700 minutes, Belotti has scored 15 goals and provided three assists for his teammates.

Inter Linked Olivier Giroud: “I Was Close To Leaving Chelsea But Didn’t Want To”

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has admitted that he came very close to departing the Premier League club in the most recent January transfer window.

Inter and Lazio showed a particular interest in signing the French national team forward but could not get a deal done for him and Chelsea then proceeded to exercise an option they had to extend his contract by a further season.

“I was close to leaving the club but I didn’t really want to,” Giroud explained in an interview with British news outlet The Guardian.

“I needed game-time for the Euros and it’s true I spoke with the gaffer regarding maybe letting me go for another challenge. He said ‘yes’. He understood my situation. He was a player and we always had a great understanding regarding my future.”

The former Montpellier striker then went on to reveal that Chelsea manager Frank Lampard was a huge factor in him deciding to stay with the Stamford Bridge club, who he joined from Arsenal back in January 2018.

“When he told me that I was going to have more chances to show, I just trusted him, and I really want to fight for it, like I have done before at Arsenal. My motivation was very high. He gave me the opportunity and I just tried to pay him back. It feels like a new start. I want to win more trophies with Chelsea.”

This season Giroud has found his playing time significantly limited with him having been far from first choice throughout the campaign.

He has been limited to just under 700 minutes in total on the park, which have been spread across 13 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals.

Inter Yet To Make A Move For Real Madrid Owned BVB Loanee Achraf Hakimi

Inter have taken no steps toward signing Real Madrid full back Achraf Hakimi according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

Inter are one of a host of clubs to have shown an interest in the Spanish born Moroccan national team defender, who is currently out on loan at Borussia Dortmund, ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The report goes on to explain that Real Madrid would like to keep a hold of the 21-year-old and manager Zinedine Zidane is prepared to give Hakimi a shot in the first team following his highly successful loan with Borussia Dortmund.

As things currently stand, Inter are far away from bringing Hakimi, who would be a perfect fit for Antonio Conte’s style of play, to the club.

This season Hakimi has made 44 appearances across all competitions to date. During his time on the park he has scored nine goals and provided 10 assists for his teammates.

French Media Claim Chelsea Signing Timo Werner Can Lead To Inter Signing Olivier Giroud

Chelsea’s signing of Timo Werner could lead to Inter signing Olivier Giroud according to a report from the online edition of French news outlet L’Equipe.

Despite rising in the pecking order prior to football being brought to a halt due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Werner’s signing has pushed Giroud back down the pecking order at the Premier League club.

Inter, Lazio, Roma and Borussia Dortmund have all shown an interest in signing the former Montpellier striker, who appears almost certain to leave Chelsea in the coming months.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard would not be opposed to letting Giroud go, despite the fact the club just exercised an option to extend his contract by a further season.

This season Giroud has been a bit part player for the Blues, who he joined in the Summer of 2018 from Arsenal. He has made just 13 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored three goals.

Inter Defender Stefan de Vrij: “Conte Was Calm At Halftime In Derby Vs AC Milan”

Stefan de Vrij has reflected upon Inter’s most recent Derby della Madonnina success over city rivals AC Milan and discussed how manager Antonio Conte was during the half time interval.

Inter went into half time trailing their rivals 2-0 but in one of the best second half performances from Inter in a long time, Inter overturned the result and ended up smashing the Rossoneri 4-2.

“In the first half AC Milan put us in difficulty. We found ourselves behind but the coach remained calm at the interval. He helped us to score immediately. We believed in ourselves and it was also great for me to score, obviously,” the Dutch national team defender explained in an interview with sports broadcaster DAZN, earlier on today.

de Vrij also shared his thoughts on Inter’s last Serie A game, which was a 2-0 defeat to arch rivals Juventus back in March, prior to the Serie A season being brought to a halt due to the global Coronavirus crisis.

“It was different playing without fans, even if we have to get used to it for the next period. Unfortunately in that game they deservedly won, they were superior to us.”

The 28-year-old, who joined Inter in 2018 and has a contract with the club until 2023, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the par, he has scored two goals and tallied four assists.
