Hellas Verona President Setti On Inter Linked Marash Kumbulla: “Never Doubted Him”

Hellas Verona president and owner Maurizio Setti has revealed that clubs came in for top prospect Marash Kumbulla 18 months ago and the club turned them away.

The highly rated Italian born Albanian national team defender has had a breakthrough season at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi club and has found himself linked with a whole array of clubs ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Inter, Napoli, Lazio, Fiorentina and Juventus have all been linked with the 20-year-old, who has two years left to run on his current contract with the Gialloblu club.

“We have never had any doubt about the human and technical capacity of Kumbulla. In January 2019 there were already several clubs after him, but we were convinced that he could grow further,” Setti explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition of the Milan based news outlet.

This season Kumbulla, who is a product of Hellas Verona’s academy, has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals just shy of 1600 minutes, Kumbulla has scored a single goal.

Spanish Media Report Inter & Barcelona “In A Poker Game” Over Lautaro Martinez

Negotiations between Inter and Barcelona over Lautaro Martinez are continuing despite the two clubs being adamant to not changing their current stances according to a report from Spanish football journalist Francesc Aguilar, who works for Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona do not want to pay any more than €65 million plus two players for the 22-year-old Argentine national team striker whilst Inter want between €80-90 million plus a single player if a player plus cash deal is to be done.

The reigning Spanish champions have already got an agreement over personal terms with the player but Aguilar goes on to explain that this has not stopped Inter from demanding that his €111 million release clause is paid, concluding that negotiations are ongoing with both clubs “in a poker game” to call each others bluff.

Until the release clause expires, there will be no room for negotiation on the price they want for Lautaro, who joined back in 2018 from Racing Club.

This season Lautaro has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.

Inter Could Offer Youngsters Oristanio & Salcedo + Cash To Hellas Verona For Marash Kumbulla

Inter could offer youngster Gaetano Oristanio to Hellas Verona as part of a deal for Marash Kumbulla according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Inter wish to add Albanian international Kumbulla to their ranks in the coming months and wish to do so without paying the €35 million that the Gialloblu club are demanding for him.

The Nerazzurri could therefore offer Oristanio in addition to Eddie Salcedo to Hellas Verona in a bid to lower the cash element of a deal for Kumbulla, who has also drawn interest from the likes of Napoli and Juventus too as of late.

The report goes on to explain that Hellas Verona have in fact shown an interest in Oristanio, who is part of Inter’s Primavera side, lately and asked about him when in talks with his agent Alessandro Lucci over another of his client’s, Valerio Verre.

This season Oristanio has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored five goals and provided a single assist for his teammates.

UEFA Introduce Temporary Emergency Measures To Help Clubs Meet Financial Fair Play Rules

European football’s governing body UEFA have approved several emergency temporary measures to help clubs meet licensing regulations and Financial Fair Play rules, they have confirmed via a statement on their official website.

The newly introduced measures have the aim of giving clubs flexibility whilst ensuring they can still fulfil transfer and salary obligations, give clubs more time to quantify and account for unanticipated revenue losses and neutralising the impact of the pandemic by allowing clubs to adjust the break-even calculation, among other things.

UEFA go on to explain that all clubs who are competing in UEFA competitions must prove at July 31 and September 30 they have no overdue payables.

Clubs must also share their accounts in respect to transfers at June 30 and September 30 to allow for cross-matching of information with payables of other clubs.

With regard to the break even rule, UEFA elaborate by stating that the assessment of the 2020 financial year has been postponed by a season and will be assessed together with the 2021 financial year.

As part of their statement, UEFA have also confirmed that they have asked member associations to harmonise transfer window periods when it comes to the upcoming ‘Summer’ transfer window and have asked all associations to end their transfer windows on October 5.

Inter President Steven Zhang Has A Plan To Improve TV Viewers Experience Of Matches At San Siro

Inter president Steven Zhang is studying ways in which San Siro could be made to feel more like normal whilst games must be played behind closed doors due to restrictions imposed following the outbreak of COVID-19, according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri supremo is looking at long term ways to improve the experience for TV viewers given that the restrictions are likely to be in place for the foreseeable future.

As per the report, Zhang is considering the possibility of projecting using LEDs and virtual images which will be projected onto the stands to give the impression of a fuller stadium when in all reality there will only be a few hundred people present in the stadium, including the teams.

Leagues elsewhere in Europe that have already restarted, including both the Bundesliga and Premier League, have used artificial crowd noises when broadcasting matches and it is presently unclear whether this is something that will be used for Serie A matches too.

La Liga President Tebas Believes Big Money Transfers Like Inter’s Lautaro Martinez To Barcelona “Unlikely”

La Liga president Javier Tebas has shared his belief that it will be a long time until big transfer deals will take place again due to the global Coronavirus crisis.

Reigning La Liga champions Barcelona in particular have been linked with making a host of big transfers ahead of the upcoming transfer window with them having been linked to Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar and Inter’s Lautaro Martinez, who has a €111 million release clause.

“It will be a complicated market. I guess we will see a lot of exchanges and few big deals. It will take some time to see business of a certain level again, I think at least two years,” Tebas explained in an interview with Catalonia based radio station Rac 1 earlier today.

He then went on to share his belief that global spending will not surpass the €800 million mark, something which regularly happens during the Summer transfer window, which is set to take place a few months later this year due to Coronavirus.

“At the moment, there are clubs like Manchester City, PSG or Newcastle that can invest a lot of money, in a way that I don’t like at all. I don’t think that, in any case, we will exceed 800 million euros globally.”

The transfer window in Italy is set to commence at the beginning of September and close at the start of October and other leagues are expected to follow and change the start and finish dates of the window.

Inter To Keep Ashley Young & Antonio Candreva As Futures Of Victor Moses & Cristiano Biraghi Uncertain

Ashley Young and Antonio Candreva are certain to remain at Inter over next season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

According to the report, Inter are reportedly planning to strengthen at full back in the upcoming transfer window and have drawn no shortage of links to full backs in recent weeks and months.

In particular the Nerazzurri have been linked with Chelsea’s Italian international wingback Emerson Palmieri, the report continues.

The futures of Fiorentina loanee Cristiano Biraghi and Chelsea loanee Victor Moses look increasingly in doubt as Inter are not happy with their performances, the report concludes.

Whilst Inter have plans to shake up the full back department, they will still keep a hold of some of the current crop of full backs, including both Young, who has extended his deal with the club until the end of next season, and former Lazio player Candreva.

Young joined Inter back in the most recent January transfer window from Manchester United and has surprised many with the level of his performances.

He has made eight appearances across all competitions since his arrival, in which he has scored one goal and tallied one assist.

Candreva has meanwhile made 27 appearances this season and has scored four goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
