Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta: “Winning Is In Our DNA, We Want To Return To Being Inter”

Inter’s Sporting CEO Beppe Marotta stopped by Italian broadcaster RAI Sport moments ago, to share his thoughts on all things Nerazzurri, going into the second leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal at the Stadio San Paolo in Naples, with kick off scheduled for 21.00 CET.

The former Juventus CEO Marotta began by underlining the importance of the Coppa Italia for the whole club to return to winning titles.

“Winning is ingrained in the DNA of this squad as well as this club, and now we want to return to being Inter” Marotta began.

Marotta then discussed how important it is for Italian football to return to action, praising everyone involved in making this return possible, in particular the President of the Italian FA Gabriele Gravina as well as the President of the Serie A Paolo Dal Pino as well as their staff.

“All of football has committed to making this return possible, thank you to President’s Gabriele Gravina and Paolo Dal Pino, and all the technicians and backroom staff.

“It is difficult to understand what effects this work will have but what is certain is that there is a will and desire to do well.”

Napoli won the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal back in February 12th, at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan 1-0 thanks to a goal in the 57th minute by Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

Ex-Napoli & Inter Striker Benito Carbone: “A Lot At Stake Tonight In Coppa Italia Semfinal”

Former Inter and Napoli forward Benito Carbone discussed tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final clash between the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei in an interview with Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb earlier today.

“It will be a surreal match that makes you think we won’t see the usual teams. It will be played without fans, for the players it’s their first match back. The two teams are great, but they haven’t played football for a long time. It’s going to be a strange game.”

Carbone then highlighted how much at is at stake for both teams, especially considering that both coaches took over their respective teams in the last 12 months.

“It will look like a low-level game, but it’s really important. There’s a lot at stake. Antonio in these cases, as well as Gattuso, will have to find the right grit.

“Already in the summer games both have the right energy. Conte is well established, he’s won a lot. Gattuso has already done well at AC Milan as well as Napoli in the last period. It will be a good match.”

Inter coach Antonio Conte understands the importance of tonight’s game against Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli and has a plan to deploy the squad in a 3-4-1-2 formation in order to get the best out of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Lecce born coach is focused on winning the Coppa Italia, wanting to bring some success to Inter in his first season in charge. Conte was disappointed to exit the Champions League in the group stages and now the club appear outsiders in the title race, and so a cup victory would be a strong message to send to other clubs in Italy.
