Italian Media Claim Inter Open To Parting Ways With Milan Skriniar But Only For Big Money Offers

Inter are open to selling Slovak defender Milan Skriniar but only for a large offer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 25-year-old Slovakian international defender impressed in his first two seasons with the Nerazzurri, but has disappointed this season under coach Antonio Conte, due to the change of formation from a back four to a back three.

Last summer Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Manchester City were all keen on Skriniar, with the two English clubs offering €65 million at different times, but all were declined.

Despite that, Inter may be open to selling Skriniar, this summer, the report continues. It’s clear now that the Nerazzurri can no longer ask for €80 million for the 25-year-old, but would be willing to consider offers should they arrive. Skriniar has made 36 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 3122 minutes.

Italian Media Report Inter Will Only Accept Antoine Griezmann As Part Payment For Lautaro Martinez From Barcelona

Inter are willing to accept Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann in exchange for Lautaro Martinez, as the Blaugrana look to sign the 22-year-old Argentine striker this summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper la Stampa.

The report details how Barcelona will never be able to reach Inter’s request of €111 million, and the Nerazzurri have already refused both Nelsen Semedo and Junior Firpo, two players offered by the Catalan club.

The Milanese club would be interested in Griezmann, but the Frenchman earns around €17 million net per season, a huge wage considering Inter’s highest paid players, Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen, earn €7.5 million per season.

However, the report continues, Inter could make use of a tax exemption in the Italian tax code, which would mean that Griezmann would continue to earn what he currently earns at Barcelona, but that it would cost Inter €22 million gross instead of €34 million gross.

Inter are currently paying €22 million gross in wages to coach Antonio Conte, making Griezmann’s total wage cost on par with the Nerazzurri coach, something Inter can afford.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta will have to work hard to find both a possible deal with both Barcelona and Griezmann, the report continues. Lionel Messi’s wishes to play with Lautaro may prove important in the talks, as the Argentine star seems increasingly unhappy at the Catalan side, who may look to keep him happy.

Romelu Lukaku’s Medical Tests Show No Injury But Could Still Miss Inter’s Serie A Clash Vs Torino

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s medical tests today showed no injuries but the 27-year-old may still miss Monday night’s league clash between the Nerazzurri and Torino, according to a report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport earlier today.

The report details how the Belgian striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, was forced off the pitch during Inter’s disappointing 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona earlier this week, due to a pain felt between his right thigh and hip.

Today’s tests showed no injuries but a slight issue which may force coach Antonio Conte to leave him out of the squad for the game against the Granata.

Lukaku carried out a personalised training session today rather than training with the squad, the report continues, and tomorrow Conte will talk with the Belgian to understand the player’s condition, as well as meeting with the medical staff. For now, it seems unlikely that the former Chelsea boss will deploy the 27-year-old on Monday.

Italian Media Reports Inter Won’t Sack Antonio Conte Who Could Resign To Return To The Premier League

Inter have no plans to dismiss coach Antonio Conte but the former Chelsea boss could resign to join a Premier League club at the end of this season, according to a report from Rome based newspaper La Repubblica.

The report details how the Nerazzurri wouldn’t be able to afford to sack the Lecce born coach, due to the fact that he earns around €22 million gross a year until 2022, a huge contract with two years remaining on it. The club are still paying former coach Luciano Spalletti €9 million a season, until the end of June next year.

Marotta also has no interest in losing Conte, the report continues, and trusts the former Juventus coach. The 50-year-old Italian could decide to return to the Premier League, enjoying his time in England, according to the report.

However, at the same time Conte has spoken with admiration of colleagues like Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta and Simone Inzaghi at Lazio, who have been able to build a long-term project, the report continues.

Italian Media Reports Parts Of Inter’s Squad Questioning Antonio Conte’s Training Methods

A report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper la Stampa has suggested that some of the Inter squad are unhappy with coach Antonio Conte’s training methods.

The report details how some players are unhappy with the coach’s intense training methods, with the physical intensity still ongoing, despite the three-month Coronavirus stop.

These players believe that the training conducted since the restart has been too hard in relation to the fact that the squad are playing two games a week.

There hasn’t been a direct confrontation yet, the report continues, but only an exchange of views between some members of the Inter squad, who are convinced that slightly lighter training sessions may prove beneficial.

Conte uses the full five substitutions less than his counterparts and it’s not surprise that games can be lost late when the squad are struggling to complete the game. Numerous injuries also haven’t helped in this regard.

Inter President Steven Zhang Phoned CEO Beppe Marotta After Hellas Verona Draw

Inter president Steven Zhang phoned CEO Beppe Marotta after the Nerazzurri’s disappointing 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona in the mid-week game, according to a report from Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.

The report details how the president wanted to understand what is currently going on with the squad and their inconsistent performances. The Chinese Nerazzurri president trusts Marotta, who in turn trusts coach Antonio Conte, the report continues.

A dismissal for the Lecce born coach is incredibly unlikely, especially considering his €22 million annual salary, which he will earn until 2022, and so the club haven’t even considered firing the former Chelsea and Juventus boss.

Marotta has invested a lot of his credibility into hiring Conte, the report continues, and so a dismissal of Conte would be a defeat for the Inter CEO.

A different matter would be if the 50-year-old Italian coach chose to leave at the end of the season, although this is also unlikely unless he receives an incredibly convincing offer from abroad.

Alessandro Bastoni, Christian Eriksen & Lautaro Martinez Expected To Start For Inter Against Torino

Alessandro Bastoni, Christian Eriksen and Lautaro Martinez are all expected to start for Inter against Torino on Monday night, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is likely to miss the league clash against the Granata on Monday, after suffering muscle discomfort on his right thigh.

The 27-year-old has joined the list of injured players, which also features players like Stefano Sensi, Nicolo Barella and Victor Moses. Four changes will be made to the starting 11 who faced Hellas Verona in the mid-week game.

These changes will see Alessandro Bastoni, Cristiano Biraghi, Christian Eriksen and Lautaro Martinez all return to the starting 11, the report continues. Coach Antonio Conte is forced to rotate the squad as much as possible, due to the current format of playing two games a week.

Probable Inter lineup (3-4-1-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan De Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Antonio Candreva, Roberto Gagliardini, Marcelo Brozovic, Cristiano Biraghi; Christian Eriksen; Alexis Sanchez, Lautaro Martinez.

Italian Media Report Doubts Emerge Over Christian Eriksen’s Future At Inter

Doubts are starting to emerge over Christian Eriksen’s future at Inter after the Dane struggles to impress coach Antonio Conte, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 28-year-old Dane joined the Nerazzurri from Tottenham in the January transfer window in a deal worth around €20 million, a large figure considering that his contract was set to expire with Spurs six months later.

The player failed to fit in Conte’s 3-5-2 formation after arriving and so the Lecce born coach changed the formation to a 3-4-1-2 after the Coronavirus stop in order to better accommodate the player.

Despite a couple of positive performances, Eriksen still hasn’t particularly impressed and Conte’s confidence in the player has plummeted, leaving the Dane’s future unpredictable.

The player is likely to start against Torino on Monday, but only because Spaniard Borja Valero is unable to play two games a week.

Italian Media Details Friction Between Antonio Conte & Parts Of Inter’s Squad & Owners

A report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport has detailed the friction present between Inter coach Antonio Conte, parts of the squad and the club.

The report details how the Lecce born coach has repeatably highlighted how the club would prefer to sign younger players with a more long-term view in mind, whilst the former Chelsea and Juventus boss would prefer to sign more experienced players, like Arturo Vidal or Edin Dzeko.

The club’s work in the transfer market seemingly confirms this, with the team looking to sign other young talents like Sandro Tonali and Marash Kumbulla, rather than looking at Conte’s list of Vidal, Dzeko and potentially Jan Vertonghen.

Some within the club are keen on Conte’s methods and public statements, the report continues, with some players highlighting how they’ve had to ask the coach for a lower level of physical training after suffering muscle problems.

The club, however, have no interest in dismissing him, especially because of his large contract. Things would be different, though, if he received an offer from a different club.
