Cagliari manager Walter Zenga has revealed that he hopes on loan midfielder Radja Nainggolan will be able to be back at his disposal soon.

Nainggolan picked up a muscle strain in training in the past few days and it is currently unclear how long the former Belgian national team midfielder will be sidelined for.

“Radja’s injury? My luck is that I can always manage even the most trivial situations,” former Inter goalkeeper Zenga remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Lina earlier on today.

“Often in training I deploy players out of role to see how they adapt in certain situations. We hope to get Radja back as soon as possible, but I’m calm because we have good alternatives.”

Nainggolan arrived on loan at the Rossoblu this past Summer from Inter, where he was judged to be out of the club’s project just a year after joining from Roma.

The 32-year-old has performed well and been a key player for Cagliari during the course of this season, in which he has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date.

In his time on the park, which totals just over 1900 minutes, Nainggolan has scored five goals and provided six assists for his teammates.

Inter president Steven Zhang is calm about striker Lautaro Martinez’s future with the club according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

Zhang, who is Inter’s youngest ever president in club history, is calm due to the fact Inter are in a strong position with thanks to the €58 million sale of former club captain Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona have shown an extremely strong interest in signing Lautaro for a considerable amount of time and it is widely understood that they do not want to pay the €111 million release clause in his contract, which runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.

This season the 22-year-old Argentine national team forward has become a regular starter and formed a solid strike partnership with Romelu Lukaku.

He has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.

Arsenal fullback Hector Bellerin arriving at Inter could complicate Barcelona’s pursuit of Lautaro Martinez according to a report from Spanish news outlet Don Balon.

Inter have recently sparked an interest in signing the Arsenal full back to bolster their defensive options and should he arrive, Barcelona would be forced to rethink their pursuit of the 22-year-old Argentine.

Barcelona hope to be able to bring the cost of a deal down for Lautaro by offering a full back such as Junior Firpo or Nelson Semedo, as part of any deal but if Bellerin arrives at Inter, the Nerazzurri may have no interest in acquiring another full back.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his current contract with Inter, which runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Hellas Verona and Brescia are both interested in Inter goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Di Gregorio is currently out on loan at Serie B side Pordenone and has impressed with his performances whilst with the Neroverdi club.

The Gialloblu and Biancazzurri sides have both made enquires to Inter regarding the 22-year-old shot-stopper and the report claims that Inter could potentially use Di Gregorio as a counterpart in a deal for either Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla or Brescia’s Sandro Tonali.

The report also explains that Monza and Vicenza, who have gained promotion to Serie B for next season, have both made enquiries to Di Gregorio’s agent Carlo Alberto Belloni.

This season Di Gregorio, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 campaign, has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date during which he has managed to keep eight clean sheets.

Barcelona manager Quique Setien has chosen to remain tight lipped when quizzed on the club’s interest in signing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

The reigning La Liga champions have been heavily linked with making a move for the highly rated 22-year-old striker for some time now and many reports have stated that he is in fact the Blaugrana’s top transfer target for the upcoming transfer window.

“The conditions in which football is currently being played have changed and this will influence the market. I am not going to speculate because the market is far away, now we must concentrate on the present,” Setien remarked during his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match against Mallorca, as quoted by FCInterNews.it.

Lautaro, who joined Inter in 2018, is under contract with the club until the end of the 2022/23 season and he has a €111 million release clause in his contract, a clause Barcelona are widely understood to be reluctant to trigger.

Dries Mertens was fascinated by the prospect of joining Inter and forming a partnership with national team teammate Romelu Lukaku according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter had shown a keen interest in bringing the Belgian national team player to the club and had offered him a two year deal worth €4.5 million a year but this offer caused Napoli president and owner Aurelio De Laurentiis to match that salary and also offer him a €2 million signing on bonus and option of a third year.

De Laurentiis’ offer convinced Mertens to forget about a move to Inter, despite how fascinated he was, and prolong his stay at the Stadio San Paolo.

This season the 33-year-old has made 29 appearances across all competitions to date. In just under 1800 minutes in total on the park, Mertens has scored 12 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.

For the time being it looks like Inter’s back line against Napoli will consist of Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni and Stefan de Vrij according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

Skriniar has always been a certainty to start whilst Bastoni and de Vrij were initially doubtful due to both having muscle problems.

Bastoni has completely recovered from his injury whilst de Vrij is near enough there and the chances of him playing are growing and growing. Should, for any reason, the Dutchman be unable to play, Andrea Ranocchia will play instead.

Inter manager Antonio Conte is yet to definitively decide who will play in the defence alongside Milan Skriniar this weekend against Napoli according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Diego Godin trained with the rest of the team yesterday but still remains a doubt for the match which will be played at the Stadio San Paolo.

Danilo D’Ambrosio is also not in the best of conditions and although Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni appear to have overcome their injury issues, the report suggests that they may not be risked given the packed schedule coming up.

If one of them does not play, Andrea Ranocchia could stand in.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to add that midfielder Matias Vecino is unlikely to travel with the squad to Naples due to his injury problem.

Matias Vecino is almost certain to miss Inter’s Coppa Italia semi final second leg match away to Napoli tomorrow night according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Uruguayan national team midfielder is currently struggling with injury and is unlikely to travel with his teammates to Naples for the match which is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 local time at the Stadio San Paolo.

Whilst Vecino looks set to miss out, Diego Godin’s condition has improved, as have the respective conditions of Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni.

As things stand, de Vrij and Bastoni should join Milan Skriniar in the defence but if neither of them are able to, Andrea Ranocchia is ready to stand in.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to explain that Antonio Candreva is currently ahead of Victor Moses to start at right wing back whilst Christian Eriksen is ahead of Stefano Sensi to start.
