Inter To Arrive In Naples On Morning Of Coppa Italia Semi Final Clash

In order to mitigate the risk of possible Coronavirus contamination, Inter are taking extreme caution when it comes to their plans for this weekend’s match against Napoli according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter are due to take on the Partenopei in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi final on Saturday night and Inter will only arrive in Naples on the morning of the match.

The team will spend the day in a hotel in Naples to allow the players to recover ahead of the match which they must overturn a 1-0 first leg defeat in in order to make it to the Coppa Italia final where they could face either Juventus or AC Milan.

Inter will leave the Stadio San Paolo immediately after the match has finished and will get on a charter flight back to Milan from Naples airport.

Spanish Media Claim Barcelona Cool Interest In Inter’s Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona have slowed down in their pursuit of Lautaro Martinez according to a report from Spanish football journalist Francesc Aguilar, who works for Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The Blaugrana club have cooled their interest in signing the 22-year-old Argentine national team striker due to the fact they are discreetly working on a deal to bring Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar back to the club.

Aguilar states that Barcelona are in no hurry to finalise a move due to the fact the transfer window looks like it will be open until October.

He also states that Barcelona do however need to raise funds to balance their books ahead of the transfer window opening and hope that they can convince some players to depart the club in the coming months.

With Barcelona seemingly now focused on signing Neymar, it remains to be seen what this means for their pursuit of Lautaro as a whole.

Ranocchia, D’Ambrosio & Skriniar Set To Start For Inter In Coppa Italia Clash Vs Napoli

As things stand, Inter’s defensive line against Napoli is to consist of Andrea Ranocchia, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Milan Skriniar according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired earlier this evening.

The reason for this is due to Alessandro Bastoni and Stefan de Vrij both hardly being in optimal condition due to muscle problems.

The report goes on to explain that Inter manager Antonio Conte will stick with his tried and tested 3-5-2 system and this comes contrary to other reports which have suggested he could opt to deploy the team in a 3-4-1-2 system instead.

It also adds that Victor Moses and Stefano Sensi will find themselves as part of the starting line-up to face the Partenopei at the Stadio San Paolo.

Inter probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic; Andrea Ranocchia, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Milan Skriniar; Ashley Young, Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella, Stefano Sensi, Victor Moses; Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku.

Italian Report Claims Dries Mertens “Tempted To Join Inter” Prior To Choosing Napoli Stay

Dries Mertens was really tempted to join Inter prior to opting to sign a contract extension with Napoli according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Belgian national team’s deal with his current employers is set to expire at the end of the month and as a result Inter had shown a keen interest in bringing him to the club on a free transfer.

For a while it looked like Inter would pull it off and Mertens was tempted by the idea of a move elsewhere having spent a long time playing for Napoli but he changed his mind.

Mertens is still yet to put pen to paper on a contract extension with the Stadio San Paolo club but is widely expected to do so shortly.

This season the 33-year-old has scored 12 goals and tallied six assists in 29 appearances across all competitions to date.

Italian Media Report Inter Seriously Considering Reintegrating Radja Nainggolan Into Squad

Inter are seriously considering reintegrating Radja Nainggolan into the first team picture according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The former Belgian national team midfielder is currently out on loan at fellow Serie A side Cagliari and is due to return to Inter once the loan deal expires but it is as yet unclear what will happen with him.

There has been talk of interest from Fiorentina and Atalanta but the report goes on to explain that neither club are thinking all that seriously about the former Roma player due to his age, likely cost of at least €20 million and his annual salary of €4.5 million.

Whilst out on loan at Cagliari, Nainggolan has shown glimpses of the best version of himself again. This term he has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals just shy of 2000 minutes, he has scored five goals and provided six assists.

Italian Media Report Inter & Fiorentina Agree To Extend Dalbert’s Loan To End Of The Season

Inter and Fiorentina have reached an agreement to extend Dalbert’s loan until the end of the season according to a report from Italian news outlet FirenzeViola.it.
