#ForzaInter 🔵⚫

Inter Legend Luis Suarez: “Inter Had A Duty To Compete With Juventus This Season”

Legendary Inter midfielder Luis Suarez has voiced his views on Inter’s recent poor form which has seen them slip to fourth place in the Serie A table and as good as lose any chance whatsoever of winning the Serie A title.

“The impression now is that now we do not know which way to turn. This situation is not normal, there was a clear involution and before the stop the form had been so-so,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, earlier on today.

“Many points have been lost on the way and I think that even the club management and the coach find it difficult to find the right solution to the problem. There have been too many ups and downs.

“This year Inter had a duty to compete with Juventus until the end of the season but now I here that there are plans to change a lot for next year, but this is not positive. If you do this you must do it all right.

“What remains is the Europa League where one can hope in an exploit.”

The Spaniard was then asked whether Antonio Conte should remain in charge of the club amid reports that his future with the club is in question.

“I think the rumours about the coach are exaggerations. A manager does not determine if his side wins, it is the players who win.

“I have always maintained the idea that the coach must not do damage and that the difference is made by quality players. We must ask ourselves what the value of the squad is.

“I see players with little personality and lack of technical ability to aim very high. If the matches are go poorly, the players of a high level have to take control of the situation.”

“Everyone thought that with his arrival there would be wins but if you do not have the team you do not win. I would like to give another example. AC Milan are about to sack Pioli but to see the value of the coach I say they should leave the same team to Rangnick and then let’s see.”

In conclusion Suarez, who was part of the Grande Inter side of the 1960s, spoke on current Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen, who has struggled as of late.

“It is a strange situation. He played well in England and also in the national team. It could be an issue of character. Perhaps he cannot express himself in the role of leader and cannot fulfil these functions,

“It is one thing to play a normal part but it is another matter to be a guide both on and off of the field. Maybe he is not used to it. He has been a disappointment but in two months you do not forget how to play football.”

Two-time Balon d’Or winner Suarez joined Inter in 1961 from Barcelona and spent nine years with the club before moving on to Sampdoria, where he spent three years before retiring.

Whilst at Inter Suarez made 329 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored 55 goals and helped the team to win seven trophies.

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Biasin: “Inter Can’t Be Struggling Or Succumbing To Sassuolo, Bologna & Verona”

In a column for Star Casino Sport, Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has shared his views on Inter following their recent struggles.

Inter have thrown away their past two games where they were leading in. Against Bologna they ended up losing 2-1 and on Thursday night against Hellas Verona Inter were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.

These results, coupled with a few others as of late, have as good as ended any possibility of Inter winning the Serie A title this season and the Nerazzurri club have now slipped to fourth in the Serie A table.

Some reports in the Italian media have went so far to even suggest that the former Italian national team manager may not even be in charge of the Nerazzurri next term.

“Inter are worn out, disconnected and definitely not resembling their manager. All of this makes us think a lot, because towards the end of the first season led by Antonio the (non) progress are these witnessed in Verona, then perhaps upstream there is not all this desire to go forward together,” Biasin began his column.

“If mutual trust is lacking, well, then a solution will be found.”

Biasin proceeded to share a possible reason behind Inter’s poor form as of late.

“The feeling is that half of the squad is not throwing themselves into the fire for the coach, an essential prerogative for a Conte team.”

Biasin then went on to share his belief that Conte’s Inter made a quick start but ever since that start things have slowly fallen apart.

“We could have understood and accepted the ‘first year effort’, but only if accompanied by progress. Conte’s Inter, on the contrary, is a team that has given its best in the first ten days of the season and then has broken apart slowly.”

Biasin then concluded by stressing that despite all the money that has been spent it still does not seem enough to Conte and stressed that regardless of what Conte had to settle for, he cannot be struggling against the sides his side have as of late.

“We are not there, because in the meantime more than 150 million has been spent on the market and in any case it still does not seem to be enough.

“We are not there because the coach talks about a ‘pre-packaged’ Inter but however ‘pre-packaged’ it is, he cannot be struggling (or succumbing) against Sassuolo, Bologna and Verona.”

Italian Media Argue Conte’s Late Use Of Substitutes Cost Inter Last Night Against Hellas Verona

Inter manager Antonio Conte holding off making substitutes proved costly for Inter last night according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter fell 1-0 behind to Hellas Verona just minutes after the game started and whilst Inter managed to overturn things and take the lead shortly after the second half began due to a quickfire double, Inter could not see the match out.

Moments prior to Miguel Veloso scoring an equaliser for the hosts, Lautaro Martinez missed a golden opportunity to put Inter 3-1 ahead.

Despite some players being visibly tired, Conte delayed making substitutes until the 70th minute and only made three of the five changes available to him and the report implies that this was a factor in Inter’s inability to see the game out.

As a result of the draw, Inter remain in fourth place, one point behind third placed Atalanta, three behind second placed Lazio and 10 behind league leaders Juventus.

Italian Media Highlight Inter Coach Antonio Conte’s Statement After Bologna Had No Effect

Inter manager Antonio Conte’s words following the defeat to Bologna did not have the desired impact against Hellas Verona nor did the tactical changes he made according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Conte admitted he had full faith in his team despite the fact they threw away the match against Bologna and lost 2-1 but rather than being repaid for the faith shown, the team started in the worst possible fashion as they conceded within two minutes of the game beginning at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Whilst Milan Skriniar was undoubtedly at fault, he was not the only one with the report also stating that Stefan de Vrij and Samir Handanovic were at fault too.

As for the tactical changes, Conte brought Borja Valero and Alexis Sanchez in in place of Christian Eriksen and Lautaro Martinez respectively but neither Valero nor Sanchez made the desired impact.

Italian Media Praise Antonio Candreva’s Performance For Inter Against Hellas Verona

Antonio Candreva was Inter’s star performer in last night’s 2-2 draw away to Hellas Verona according to the player ratings published in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian wing-back has been handed a rating of 7/10 for his goal and playing the ball which Hellas Verona defender Federico Dimarco directed into his own net.

Ashley Young and Romelu Lukaku were Inter’s next best performers with both receiving a 6.5/10 rating whilst club captain Samir Handanovic, Borja Valero, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez all got 6/10 for their efforts at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Stefan de Vrij, Diego Godin, Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini all got 5.5 whilst Marcelo Brozovic and Inter manager Antonio Conte have both received half marks.

The worst performance on the night, in the eyes of the Milan based news outlet anyway, came from Milan Skriniar, who they gave a rating of just 4.5 to. Skriniar was especially poor when Inter conceded their first goal and this was a large factor in him getting the rating he did.

Italian Journalist Paulo Condo: “Inter & Roma Must Come Out Of This Moment To Compete In Europa League”

Italian football journalist Paolo Condo has insisted that both Inter and Roma must aim to win the Europa League following the draw earlier on today.

Inter are due to face Getafe in the Europa League last 16 at the beginning of August and can face either Rangers or Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter finals of the tournament, the remainder of which is to be contested across four cities in Germany during August.

Roma can meanwhile face either Wolves or Olympiakos in the next round of the tournament if they are to get past Sevilla in the last 16.

Both sides should they progress past the semi finals would not be able to meet one another but they could of course meet in the final on August 21.

“Inter and Roma have to compete to win the Europa League,” Condo explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today after the draw was made.

Condo proceeded to discuss the two teams current form.

“Both are not having a good time, we will see what they are like in a month. They have very difficult opponents to face in Sevilla and Getafe. In any case, both the Nerazzurri and the Giallorossi must come out of this moment and have hope.”

Italian Media Report Antonio Conte’s Comments Post Hellas Verona Fan Flames Of Talk Of Departure

There are bad omens in the relationship between Inter manager Antonio Conte and the club according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

Some reports in the media have sensationally suggested that Conte could leave the club at the end of the season just a year after taking charge and this report claims his comments following the 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona have only added to this idea and increased the shadows hovering over Conte’s future with the club.

Conte took over from Luciano Spalletti and signed a three year contract with an annual salary of €12 million a year. Club owners Suning invested heavily to bring players Conte wanted to the club, including making a club record €65 million move to sign Romelu Lukaku.

Since taking the reigns at Inter, the former Italian national team boss has managed Inter in 42 matches across all competitions, of which he has won 24.

Barcelona’s Move For Inter’s Lautaro Martinez Hinges On Offloading Philippe Coutinho To Raise Funds

Barcelona signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter is dependent on them finding a buyer for Philippe Coutinho according to a report from sports broadcaster ESPN.

The Spanish powerhouses have already agreed personal terms with the highly rated 22-year-old striker but are yet to agree terms with Inter, who he is under contract with until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Negotiations between the clubs have been happening for some time but have been impacted by the global Coronavirus crisis, which has led to Barcelona cutting their budget by €200 million for next season.

Lautaro’s €111 million release clause has expired but the report claims Barcelona never had any intention of paying that much ever and were hopeful of doing a deal on a player or players plus cash basis.

Inter would however like cash for Lautaro and therefore Barcelona will need to raise funds through sales with Coutinho pinpointed as being the player who could bring in the most money.

Barcelona spent €160 million to sign Coutinho from Liverpool and are well aware that they will have to take a real hit. The report goes on to add that they are hopeful that they can find a buyer for him and his sale is seen as key to acquiring Lautaro.
