Inter are prepared to go all in for Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali following on from the sale of Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are incredibly keen to sign the 20-year-old Italian midfielder, who is unlikely to be sold by Brescia for less than €35 million, plus add-ons. Brescia president Massimo Cellino is continuing to ask for €50 million and so the Nerazzurri are planning to make an offer to convince the club to accept a slightly lower deal.

Inter are considering two options, the report continues. The first is to include Sebastiano Esposito’s loan in the deal for Tonali, alongside cash and add-ons. The other idea is an offer that would consist of cash plus Andrea Pinamonti, an operation worth around €40 million. Inter are planning to use the funds from the sale of Mauro Icardi to PSG to fund the deal for the 20-year-old.

The sale of Inter owned striker Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain will be announced today, according to a report from Italian media outlet GianlucaDiMarzio.com earlier today.

The report details how the 27-year-old Argentine striker will be sold by the Nerazzurri to PSG for €50 million plus €8 million in add-ons, which will be easy to achieve. The clause that would see the French club pay Inter €15 million extra should Icardi be sold to an Italian club will also be in the deal, essentially killing the chances of Juventus signing the player for the next 12 months.

Icardi impressed whilst on loan with Paris Saint-Germain this season, despite the rocky end to his Nerazzurri career. The 27-year-old Argentine forward made 31 appearances across all competitions this season for PSG, for a total of 1958 minutes. In that time, he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists, but has suffered a slight relationship breakdown with coach Thomas Tuchel.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio and his assistant Dario Baccin will sign new contracts with the Nerazzurri, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

The report details how their contract extension was confirmed in the last few weeks, with the new deal set to expire in 2022. Both Ausilio and Baccin are appreciated by Inter’s management and the duo have helped to create a strong working group. The idea of renewing their contracts was already being considered last September, owing to their work together.

The Suning group wanted both the management and technical staff to be on contracts that expire at the same time, the report continues, with both Beppe Marotta and Antonio Conte’s contracts also set to expire in 2022. The goal of the club’s owners is to win the league before that date, but the club are not looking to rush and want to build a strong project for the future.

Italy coach Roberto Mancini discussed the restart of the Serie A season, the title race and the different time slots that the remaining games will be played on in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper la Stampa.

First, he spoke about the restart of the league and compared it to the restart of the German Bundesliga.

“The restart of the season will be very soft, we saw how it went in the Bundesliga. Low rhythm, very few tackles, few protests, in short, little of all the ingredients that make up a match. Let’s get ready for this kind of spectacle for the first two games at least.”

The Italy coach then moved onto talking about the three-way title race between Juventus, Lazio and the Nerazzurri.

“Many tactical ideas could, if not be replaced, at least change. So even the Scudetto race isn’t completely taken for granted. Let’s face it, Juve and Lazio are still at an advantage, but I wouldn’t give Inter up as they also have a game to catch up on. And who knows who will be relegated, it isn’t as obvious as the table suggests.”

Finally, Mancini commented on the discussions regarding which time slots the games should be played in during the hot summer months, when the season is usually over.

“Let’s get ready for another type of football. And in this sense, I hope we’ll be on the pitch at night. Playing at 17:00 from Rome is bad, but at the end of the day all over Italy as well, it would increase the discomfort of an already bad situation. I trust that we’ll choose 20:00 and 21:45 as the time of day.”

Serie A is set to restart next month of the 20th June, over three months after being stopped because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Inter are currently nine points behind rivals and league leaders Juventus, although they have a game in hand thanks to the postponed game against Sampdoria which still needs to be replayed.

Inter coach Antonio Conte has been preparing the squad for their upcoming Coppa Italia semi-final clash against Napoli, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Lecce born coach has divided the club’s training sessions into different types, some where the squad train in groups after watching tactical videos or others where two groups are pushed more physically. The Nerazzurri lost the first leg of the semi-finals 1-0 at home in the San Siro, and so the Nerazzurri need a comfortable win in Napoli’s Stadio San Paolo to progress to the final.

Conte is hoping both Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku will be able to drive the Milanese club to the final, the report continues, with both players set to play vital roles in the game.

Lukaku has scored 23 goals and provided five assists in 35 appearances this season for the Milanese club.

Barcelona are refusing to give up in the fight to sign Inter star Lautaro Martinez and have a plan, according to a report from Spanish media outlet Marca earlier today.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker has declined an offer from Inter to renew his contract, due to the fact that he still has three years left on his contract. The player is still incredibly keen to join Barcelona and that has been apparent in conversations between the Argentine forward and the club.

Barcelona aren’t withdrawing in their interest of signing the player, the report continues, despite the fact that they cannot pay his €111 million release clause. Lautaro’s release clause is valid for the first two weeks of July, but beyond that he has no release clause. Barcelona believe that his value would drop due to the Coronavirus pandemic and so are in no rush to sign the 22-year-old. They still believe they can tempt Inter by offering multiple players in exchange.

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez showed himself having fun in training with the Nerazzurri squad in a post on his Instagram page yesterday.

The 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has been at the centre of many market rumours for some time now, with Barcelona incredibly keen to sign the player, who they think would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez. Inter confirmed yesterday that he would only be sold for his release clause, €111 million.

Former Inter defender Marco Materazzi condemned the systematic racism in the United States of America in a post on his Instagram page yesterday.

The 46-year-old Italian shared a video made by Nike condemning the current situation in the USA, which has been unstable following on from the tragic death of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer. The murder has seen protests and riots in the city of Minneapolis, with many pushing for large scale changes.
