Inter Legend Marco Materazzi: “I’ll Forever Thank Zlatan Ibrahimovic For Helping Me Win The Champi ons League By Going To Barcelona”

In an interview with Argentine broadcaster TNT Sports earlier on today, legendary former Inter defender Marco Materazzi reminisced about Inter’s historic treble winning season in 2009/10.

“It is nice to remember the moments lived with your teammates. When one plays and wins you don’t look behind, instead when the years go by you notice what you have done,” he began the interview.

“It was a very difficult task to achieve but when you grow up you give it more weight because you realise that it is something special.”

Next he discussed Jose Mourinho, who led Inter to the historic achievement.

“One of Mou’s best skills was to make everyone feel included. Mourinho knows everything about everyone and always says the right things. He was brilliant at that. He was the manager who influenced me most in my own managerial career. I was lucky to have had him near the end of my career.”

Materazzi proceeded to discuss former Inter teammate Ronaldo and some of the other big names who he played alongside.

“When I arrived at Inter the first time I was trembling to see certain players. Before my medical examination, I saw Ronaldo on the exercise bike. He had the nature of Messi and the physicality of Ronaldo. He did everything at two hundred miles per hour.

“I was also lucky enough to play with Totti, Del Piero, Crespo, Eto’o, I can say I crowned a childhood dream.”

He then spoke on Mario Balotelli and what he thought of the current Brescia striker when he was coming through Inter’s ranks.

“It is not true that he did not like to train. I have never saw the quality that Mario had at 16-years-old in anyone. He did not do normal things. He is the first to know that he did not express his potential because at 18-years-old he had won everything. He did not keep his initial promises.”

In conclusion Materazzi was asked about the rumoured rivalry between himself and former Inter teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“It is not true that there was rivalry. I will thank him forever, because if he had not gone to Barcelona, Eto’o would not have come. He helped me win the Champions League.”

The 2006 World Cup winner joined Inter in the Summer of 2001 from fellow Italian club Perugia and spent the next decade on the clubs books. In his time with the club, Materazzi made a total of 276 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he scored 21 goals and tallied three assists.

Emerson Espinoza’s Agent: “Inter Are Happy With Him, They Know How Important He Is”

Inter youngster Emerson Espinoza’s agent has admitted that the club are currently happy with his client in an interview with Ecuadorian radio station Area Deportiva FM earlier on today.

The 19-year-old joined Inter’s Primavera side on loan for the remainder of the season back in the January transfer window from fellow Serie A side Parma but is yet to play a game for them yet due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Despite not being able to play any games, the former Boston River player has still managed to impress the Nerazzurri with what he has done in training.

“Last week they did the tests at Inter, at the moment there is no official confirmation that Emerson Espinoza will join the first team but Inter are happy with him, they know how important he is.”

Inter, as per a report in recent months, have an option to be able to sign Espinoza on a permanent basis for a sum of €300,000 and it now remains to be seen whether the Nerazzurri will take up the option to sign the defensive midfielder, who is part of Ecuador’s under 20 national team.

Nahuel Bustos’ Agent: “He’s Similar To Lautaro Martinez, We’re Speaking With Clubs But I Won’t Mention Names”

Club Atletico Talleres striker Nahuel Bustos’ agent Ignacio Campo has likened his client to Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and refused to confirm whether or not Inter are among a host of Italian clubs keen on signing him.

“The first similar player that comes to mind is Lautaro Martinez. He has many qualities that resemble those of the Inter striker, even his movements are similar,” Campo remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

He then went on to reveal that Club Atletico Talleres are in a position where they have to sell Bustos and he also revealed how much his client is likely to cost clubs to sign.

“They need to sell him for financial reasons and because Bustos is at the right age to move to Europe. He’s 21-years-old and his contract is due to expire in 2022. How much will he cost? More or less €10 million.”

Campo then went on to share which leagues his client is fond of and spoke on the offers which he has received to date for him.

“Italian football fascinates him, very much. Also Spanish and English football does too, of course. We have six clubs in La Liga interested and much will depend on how the seasons end, if they end.”

In conclusion he was asked about the interest from Italy where Inter, Napoli, AC Milan and Roma are all seemingly interested in signing him: “I won’t mention names, but we are talking with some clubs.”

Italian Journalist Ceccarini On Inter Owned Mauro Icardi: “This Is An Important Week For His Future”

Italian football journalist and transfer market expert Niccolo Ceccarini has shared his belief that this week will be a decisive week for the future of Mauro Icardi.

Icardi is currently out on loan at recently crowned French champions Paris Saint-Germain from Inter and the Parisians have an option to sign him outright for a sum of €70 million, an option which expires this coming Sunday.

“This is an important week to understand what will happen with Icardi as we will see if PSG will redeem him immediately or if they will ask for a discount,” Ceccarini remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Bianconera earlier on today.

Ceccarini then went on to discuss the ongoing links which have seen Lautaro Martinez linked with a potential Summer transfer window switch to Barcelona and also discussed who Inter could replace the Argentine with if he does go.

“Barcelona wants to understand if Inter will give them Lautaro or not. Who could Inter go for if he leaves? There is Cavani but his salary demands must be reduced.”

In conclusion, he then went on to reveal that Juventus are working very hard to try and sign Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, who is also a big transfer target of Inter’s for this Summer.

“I think Tonali is the player that Juventus are making the most important effort for.”

Claudio Marchisio On Inter Owned Mauro Icardi: “He Would Do Well At Juventus Because He’s A Great Player”

Former Juventus and Italian national team midfielder Claudio Marchisio has shared his belief that Mauro Icardi could do well at Juventus if he were to join them.

Icardi is currently out on loan at newly crowned French champions Paris Saint-Germain from Inter and recent reports have suggested that Paris Saint-Germain are keen to keep a hold of him past the end of this season.

They have an option to sign him outright for €70 million but will seek a discount, something Inter will seemingly grant them due to wanting to avoid Icardi returning to the club at all costs.

Juventus have a long standing interest in signing the 27-year-old and some reports in the media have suggested that the Bianconeri club could try and do a deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

“I think he would do well because he is a great player, who still has room for improvement. He would certainly find the right environment if he joined Juventus but we will have to wait and see what the transfer market will be like,” Marchisio remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet Fanpage.it.

Whilst on loan in France, Icardi has scored 20 goals and tallied five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions to date.

Argentina Manager Scaloni: “Taking Lautaro Martinez Away From Inter Isn’t Going To Be Easy”

Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni has sang the praises of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez amid continued reports linking him with a move to La Liga giants Barcelona this Summer.

Almost every day for the past few months the highly rated forward has been linked to the Blaugrana club, who reportedly see him as one of, if not their top transfer target.

“Taking Lautaro away from Inter is not going to be easy. I would like Lautaro Martinez to play, to have continuity. He will be the reference striker for the future,” Scaloni, who took charge of Argentina back in 2018, remarked in an interview with Argentine radio station Radio La Red earlier on today.

In conclusion, Scaloni shared his belief that if Lautaro were to complete a transfer to Barcelona then his new manager Quique Setien would find a way to utilise him as a starter.

“I believe that if he goes to Barcelona, manager Quique Setién will find a way to make him play as a starter. He will have to however sacrifice himself to earn his place.

“The player we seen before the 2018 World Cup was not the one we see now, he has grown a lot.”

This season the 22-year-old has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals, tallied four assists and cemented himself as one of the most promising players on the planet.

Italian Report Argues Why Inter Should Not Replace Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez With PSG’s Edinson Cavani

Edinson Cavani may not be the best route for Inter to go down to replace Lautaro Martinez, should he depart the club in the coming months, a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Libero warns.

Lautaro has drawn continuous links over a move to Barcelona and talks between Inter and Barcelona over him are ongoing.

Should he depart Inter will obviously have to go out and find a replacement for him and the Nerazzurri are seemingly very keen on bringing in Cavani, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain is due to expire at the end of next month.

The report from Libero goes on to state that Cavani is more similar to Romelu Lukaku than he is to Lautaro and there are several doubts about him.

Cavani has just turned 33-years-old, which has led to doubts being cast over whether he is past his best or not. He has struggled for game time this season due to injury and missed no less than 17 games and his scoring rate has also slowed down with him only managing to net seven goals this term.

Inter Coach Conte Could Change Formation To Get The Best Out Of January Signing From Spurs Christian Eriksen

In order to try and get the best out of Christian Eriksen, Inter manager Antonio Conte could change to a different tactical set-up according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Since Eriksen arrived at Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Tottenham Hotspur in January, he has struggled to adapt and has performed nowhere near to how everyone expected he would.

Eriksen does not have a natural role in Conte’s tried and tested 3-5-2 system and Conte ultimately prefers Stefano Sensi for this system.

However, in an attempt to get the most out of Danish national team attacking midfielder Eriksen, Conte could change his system to a 3-4-2-1 or a 4-2-3-1 in order to allow Eriksen to play in his natural position.

Since his arrival at the Nerazzurri club, the 28-year-old, formerly of Ajax, has made eight appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and tallied one assist.
