Inter & Lazio Target Marash Kumbulla: “Stefan de Vrij 1 Of The 3 Best Defenders In The World”

Inter target Marash Kumbulla discussed the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, his first steps in football and the strongest defenders currently playing in an interview in today’s print edition of the Italian magazine Sportweek.

“The epidemic has taught us not to take everything for granted, to live in harmony with what is wonderful around us, to enjoy the little things that are the most genuine and authentic, to have more respect for life, nature and ourselves, to be selfless, to love us.”

The 20-year-old Albanian defender, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022, then moved onto discussing his first steps in football and how it started with his father.

“It came into my life with my dad, a great fan. When I was 4 years old, he enrolled me at a football school in Peschiera. Later, when I saw that I was comfortable with the ball at my feet, I was even happier to go to practice. And even now it’s like that, training is everything to me. It’s the thing I missed the most during the pandemic.”

Kumbulla touched on how he signed for Hellas Verona when he was only 8 years old.

“I think that for every child the dream is to play for their home team. I had a trial and they signed me.”

The Albanian teenager spoke about how he plays in Serie A without fear or nerves.

“Yeah, I enjoy duels, even aerial ones. I really like the physical fight. And then, for some in my role, there’s nothing more satisfying than being the last line of defence, like those who clear the ball off the line.”

The Hellas Verona defender discussed his strengths and weaknesses and what he needs to do to improve.

“I have to improve with my left foot. My strength is my concentration in the game, the care I place on each pass, and my determination.”

Finally, Kumbulla commented on the who he thinks are the three best central defenders currently playing, including Inter defender Stefan De Vrij on that list.

“Van Dijk, Sergio Ramos, de Vrij. I like to study how de Vrij plays. He always understands first where the ball can go.”

Kumbulla has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1581 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.

Italian Media Highlights Which Barcelona Players Inter Open To Accepting As Part Payment For Lautaro Martinez

A report from Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport has analysed five possible Barcelona players that could be sent to Inter in exchange for Argentinian international striker Lautaro Martinez.

The report details how the Blaugrana cannot afford to pay the €111 million release clause attached to the 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023.

Many names have been suggested, but the Nerazzurri now have the choice of two out of the five of Nelson Semedo, Junior Firpo, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti.

Inter will only accept Umtiti on loan alongside another player and around €70 million in cash, the report continues, but the Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their wing back department, and so may prefer to look for Semedo and Firpo.

For the midfield, Arthur would have been the ideal choice, but he doesn’t want to leave Barcelona, and so the Nerazzurri are considering Vidal, a player who coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of. Rakitic was previously linked to Inter, but now the Nerazzurri have seemingly moved on.

Italian Media Reports Inter Will Only Sign PSG’s Edinson Cavani If 2 Conditions Met

Inter will only sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani on two conditions, according to a report from Italian broadcaster SportMediaset aired earlier this afternoon.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri are hoping to sign Cavani on a free transfer after his contract expires with PSG, but will do so only if the French club decide to permanently sign Mauro Icardi and the former Napoli striker agrees to lowering his wage demands.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are expecting to sell the 22-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Spanish giants Barcelona incredibly keen to sign the player.

However, the Blaugrana cannot afford to pay Lautaro’s €111 million release clause and so have been looking to offer Inter a couple of players as well as money.

Other clubs are interested in Cavani, the report continues, including teams from the MLS and Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

Cavani has made 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1096 minutes. In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided three assists.

Italian Media Claims Inter Have Not Given Up On Trying To Sign Juventus Target Federico Chiesa

Inter haven’t given up in the race to sign Fiorentina talisman Federico Chiesa, according to a report from Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

The report details how the 22-year-old Italian forward, who is contracted to the Florence based club until 2022, is a fan of Inter coach Antonio Conte and would be happy to play under the former Chelsea and Juventus coach.

The Bianconeri are also keen on Chiesa, although they have not had recent contact with the Viola. The big problem in the deal for Chiesa is his cost, the report continues, as president Rocco Commisso doesn’t want to give up on the club’s talismanic winger for any less than €60-70 million.

The Nerazzurri aren’t willing to pay that much for a single player due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and its effect on the transfer market.

Chiesa has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2117 minutes. In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided five assists.

Hellas Verona Sporting Director D’Amico On Inter & Lazio Linked Kumbulla: “He’s Worth More Than €25M”

Hellas Verona sporting director Tony D’Amico discussed Inter target Marash Kumbulla in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia aired earlier this afternoon.

“We want to finish the season, which is what matters, there will be time for the rest. Kumbulla is a strong player. Is he worth €25 million? I think that evaluation is a little bit lower than our evaluation of him.

“He’s had an amazing season. It’s clear that, because of his age and what he’s shown on the pitch, he’s one of the players that many top European clubs have started paying attention to.”

He moved onto talking how many clubs are interested in the 20-year-old Albanian defender, but there was no guarantee that the player would leave Verona in the summer.

“He’ll certainly have a lot of offers, which he already has today, but it’s too early to talk about figures. We make an exclusively tactical assessment of the player and he doesn’t necessarily need to be sold.

“There’s still plenty of time, for us it’s an honour to have such a young man, I think it’s a credit to Setti’s management who has always believed in the youth sector. And I think that this is the reward of that.”

Finally, D’Amico spoke about the situations of players who are on loan at the club, like the Inter owned Federico Dimarco and Eddie Salcedo.

“We haven’t started talking to the players, we need the rules that the federation and UEFA will have to impose. It is unthinkable to find a single agreement with the players, an ad hoc rule will have to be found for this emergency.”

Inter are incredibly keen to sign the 20-year-old Albanian defender, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022. Kumbulla, who is also wanted by Lazio, as well as many other top clubs around Europe, made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1581 minutes.

In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets. The player’s expected cost is a little lower than many would expect for a player of his quality and potential, due to the effects of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The Nerazzurri are considering signing Kumbulla in the summer, and then sending him back to Verona on loan for the season, in order to help him earn more regular playing time and develop further.

Inter Fend Off BVB & Barcelona To Agree 5 Year Deal With Panathinaikos Youngster Vagiannidis

Georgios Vagiannidis is set to sign for Inter after reaching an agreement with the Italian club, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 18-year-old Greek defender, who has been with Panathinaikos since 2017, has reached an agreement with Inter.

The player has agreed to a five-year contract, with a salary that could grow depending on how important the player becomes for the Milanese club. It will be up to coach Antonio Conte to decide, with the Greek teenager set to be available in the summer pre-season training camp.

Barcelona and Dortmund were also interested in Vagiannidis, the report continues, but the player was immediately won over by the project presented to him by Inter CEO Beppe Marotta. He cannot leave Greece for now due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic but will undergo medical examinations as soon as it’s safe to do so.

Spanish Media Claims Inter Open To Accepting Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti As Part Payment For Lautaro Martinez

Inter are interested in Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti and the player has been included in the shortlist of the 3-4 players that the Nerazzurri would be happy to include in the deal for Lautaro Martinez, according to Spanish news outlet Sport.

The report details how the 26-year-old is on the list of players that Inter would be happy to be entered in the talks for 22-year-old Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez. The Blaugrana are incredibly keen to sign the player, believing that he would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez.

Barcelona had to drop their valuation of the player, the report continues. The Blaugrana valued the 2018 World Cup winner at €50 million, which was dropped to €30 million, considered reasonable by all parties.

Barcelona cannot afford to pay Lautaro’s €111 million release clause and so have to include players in the deal to reach that number. The Milanese club have not made a final decision yet, and both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in Umtiti as well.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta Aiming To Make €58M Capital Gain When Selling Mauro Icardi To PSG

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is looking to make a record breaking capital gains on selling Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

According to the report the former Nerazzurri captain Icardi’s value on Inter’s balance sheet is a measly €1.8 million and the club is aiming make at least a €58 million capital gain when selling the player to PSG.

The report details how the Parisians have offered the Milanese club €50 million plus €10 million in add-ons for the 27-year-old Argentine striker, who has spent this season on loan with PSG.

However, Inter won’t be willing to accept this offer, as they feel it is far too low considering the two clubs agreed to a €70 million buy option last summer.

The Milanese club, however, would according to the report, consider accepting a deal of €60 million plus €10 million in add-ons. PSG know that Icardi is a problem for the Nerazzurri and they are offering Inter an easy solution, rather than potentially selling the player to their rivals.

Icardi has made 31 appearances across all competitions this season for PSG, for a total of 1958 minutes. In that time, he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists.

Italian Media Reports Inter To Use Fee From Mauro Icardi’s Transfer To PSG To Sign Arsenal’s Aubameyang & Juventus Target Tonali

Inter will use the funds received from the transfer of Mauro Icardi to Paris Saint-Germain to sign Brescia’s Sandro Tonali and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Libero.

The report details how PSG have offered the Nerazzurri €50 million in cash as well as €10 million in add-ons that aren’t easily triggered.

PSG want to close out the deal before the end of May, the report continues, because otherwise they would have to renegotiate Icardi’s contract.

Inter simply want to sell the 27-year-old as he is not needed for coach Antonio Conte’s project and his sale would give them the funds to sign Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Brescia’s Sandro Tonali.

The two clubs agreed upon a figure of €70 million last summer, and so the Nerazzurri aren’t keen to accept this offer. Both parties are still negotiating and Inter may be willing to accept a deal of €60 million in cash with €10 million in bonuses.
