Diego Godin & Roberto Gagliardini Among 5 Players Whose Inter Future Hangs In The Balance

Diego Godin, Roberto Gagliardini, Matias Vecino, Alexis Sanchez and Cristiano Biraghi are all playing for their Inter futures in the remaining eight league games according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Godin has never entirely convinced since his arrival on a free transfer this past Summer whilst Gagliardini has been in poor form as of late and Vecino’s future with the club has long been up in the air.

Sanchez and Biraghi are meanwhile playing to convince Inter to turn their loan spells with the club into permanent moves.

Eriksen, who arrived at Inter in the most recent January transfer window, will be out to convince Inter manager Antonio Conte to really focus on him in the near future. Danish national team player Eriksen has had a few good performances but has left a lot to be desired with the rest of his performances.

Italian Media Claim Inter Feel Remorse & Bitter After Juventus & Lazio Both Slip Up

There is a feeling of real bitterness and regret at Inter after Juventus and Lazio both slipped up in their most recent matches according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have slipped up themselves several times as of late, most recently this past weekend against Bologna and there is real regret for the many wasted opportunities. Inter have had no shortage of changes to kill games off but have failed to do so and have paid dearly for it.

Inter’s lack of suitable alternatives to the starters plus the many injuries have certainly played a part in Inter stumbling as of late and the report goes on to add that Inter manager Antonio Conte wants his team to give everything against Hellas Verona later on today and wants to have no regrets.

Inter are due to face Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi tonight with kick off scheduled for 21:45 CET.

Inter Striker Romelu Lukaku Could Equal & Surpass Record Of Goals Scored In 1 Season Tonight

Romelu Lukaku could match his personal record for goals scored in a single season in tonight’s match away to Hellas Verona according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Inter and Belgian national team striker has netted 26 goals across all competitions to date and needs just one more goal to match his record of 27 goals in a season, which he achieved in the 2017/18 season at Manchester United.

Lukaku, who joined Inter in a club record €65 million deal this past Summer, could of course set a new record if he is to score more than once but even if he fails to match the record tonight, it seems almost inevitable that he will and that he will set a new record too.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to add that Lukaku is now happy and no longer thinks of the days where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not consider him as a key player at Manchester United.

Inter President Steven Zhang Still Stuck In China Due To Travel Restrictions Following COVID-19 Pandemic

Inter president Steven Zhang remains stuck in his native China and will be forced to once again watch Inter play on television tonight according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Zhang is currently unable to return to Milan due to Chinese government blocking foreign travel of any kind and this applies to everyone.

Zhang, who is the youngest Inter president in club history, has recently been in contact with club management to express his desire to get back to Milan but he will be forced to hold on and wait until the Chinese government lift the current travel restrictions before returning.

Inter are due to face Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi in a few hours time and this will just be the latest of many matches that Zhang has been unable to attend alongside the rest of the club’s management team.

Inter Coach Antonio Conte Expecting Immediate Reaction From Team Tonight Against Hellas Verona

Inter manager Antonio Conte has turned the page on the defeat to Bologna this past weekend and has now set his sights on taking over Lazio and finishing in second place according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter currently sit in fourth place and are trailing Lazio by four points but with a win tonight they could reduce that gap to a single point.

Conte is well aware that he and the entire squad are under scrutiny having thrown away the match against Bologna at San Siro and he is expecting immediate reaction from everyone in tonight’s match away to Hellas Verona.

Rather than blast his squad in his pre-match press conference, Conte opted to declare his faith in those at his disposal rather than fuel the tensions that have been created in the days since the loss to Bologna.

The former Italian national team manager is convinced that the comments made will provide him with the answers he is looking for at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Nicola Berti On Inter Being In Crisis: “I Find These Talks Excessive, Inter Have A Winning Project”

Former Inter player Nicola Berti has admitted that he feels talk of Inter going through a crisis period is excessive following their loss to Bologna this past weekend.

“In three games time it will be Juve-Lazio and until then Inter have four games to play, starting with tonight’s match at Verona,” he started an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“After this match we will have a more precise idea of the season and the title race. Inter must string together consecutive victories whilst Juventus face a very delicate match against Atalanta next.”

He was then asked if he thinks Inter have thrown away too many games as of late.

“Calm down, I don’t agree. In reality I think the only game that was thrown away was the last one against Bologna. Inter were ahead, were in total control and had they scored the penalty the game would have been killed off.

He was then asked about the idea of Inter being in crisis.

“I honestly find this excessive. Conte did well to groom everyone and to stimulate them to react and the owners have shown that they want to invest to get back to winning trophies.

“Bringing in Conte was the first step of this mission and the recent purchase of Hakimi, who is a top player, shows which direction they are working in. Trust me, Inter’s project is a winning one and it shows.”

He was then asked what Inter have been missing.

“Without the fans it is another sport and then there is all the injuries too. Barella’s absence was really felt against Bologna whilst Sensi has been injured for most of the season. He had a very strong start and proved he could be an important added value.”

In conclusion he was asked whether he thinks Lautaro Martinez has been impacted by the speculation regarding his future.

“Lautaro is distracted. To be at Inter, he must have nothing else on his mind. He must understand that he is already at a great club and that wearing the Inter shirt is a privilege.”

Former Italian national team player Berti joined Inter in 1988 from fellow Serie A side Fiorentina and spent the next nine and a half years with Inter before leaving for Tottenham Hotspur.

During his time with the club Berti scored 41 goals and provided eight assists in 312 appearances across all competitions.

AC Milan President Paolo Scaroni: “Ours & Inter’s New Stadium Will Be Ready In 2024”

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has confirmed that the new stadium with Inter will be ready for 2024 and has claimed that it will be the most beautiful stadium in the world.

The two clubs have been joint tenants of San Siro since just after the second World War and will once again share a new state of the art stadium which will be built opposite San Siro, which is set to be demolished as part of the clubs’ grand plans.

The clubs have two different architectural groups vying to build the stadium which will be part of a newly renovated San Siro district, which will contain plenty of green space as well as commercial space and places for citizens to work out.

“I think we are on the right track. The city council made us a proposal that we don’t like very much because it has reduced our ability for construction, but we accepted it because it should resolve the political part of the situation,” Scaroni explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera, which appeared in today’s print edition.

He then went on to share his optimism and admitted that it would be difficult for the Milan city council to reject a project which will employ thousands of people.

“Today I am reasonably optimistic, it seems to me that the city council has embraced the project to have a new stadium and the opposition also sees it favourably.

“It is hard to say no to a project that employs 3000 people, in such a big city. It will be the most beautiful stadium in the world.”

Next he provided some further details such as when the stadium will be ready.

“The stadium will be ready for 2024. There will be a phase in which the new stadium will be completed and San Siro will still be standing: the mayor will decide where to perform the ceremony, it would seem strange not to use the new stadium.

“Then the refurbishment of San Siro will start, which will cost us €74 million and will allow parts of San Siro to be salvaged.”

German Journalist Kessler: “Inter Like David Alaba A Lot, Don’t Think Bayern Will Sign Ivan Perisic”

German football journalist Philipp Kessler, who works for BILD, has revealed that David Alaba has some doubts regarding a potential transfer from Bayern Munich to Inter.

The Austrian national team defender has been linked with Inter in recent weeks and in an interview with Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it, Kessler has admitted Inter are interested but Alaba has doubts.

“From what I know, Alaba interests Inter a lot and Conte is a great admirer of him. At the moment, however, there is no agreement,” he began.

“Alaba, as far as we know, would have some doubts about the Nerazzurri. There is talk of interest from PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City but Bayern Munich officials are very confident that no concrete moves will come from these clubs. Real Madrid and Barcelona are both really interested.”

He was then asked whether he is aware if there has been any contact between Inter and Alaba’s representatives as of late.

“Some of the media in Italy have claimed this but these rumours are not what we at BILD know. I really do not think that there has been any direct contact between the player’s representatives and Inter.”

Next he spoke on the current status of contract extension talks between Bayern Munich and Alaba, whose current deal expires at the end of next season.

“It is a difficult situation. Alaba wants to become one of Bayern’s highest paid players. He is expecting to earn around €15 million gross per year including bonuses. Alaba knows his value.

“The Austrian has matured a lot, he is now also a leader on the field. He is now also a central defender, although he has played most of his career as a left back. I think Alaba is gaining more appreciation due to the fact he is playing at centre back and Bayern already have two world class players in Jérôme Boateng and Lucas Hernández there.”

Kessler was then asked about Ivan Perisic and whether the newly crowned German champions will sign him outright from Inter.

“At the moment it does not seem that Bayern will decide to buy him outright. He is over 30-years-old and earns a lot and Bayern do not want excessive costs as part of their new club policy. I have liked what he has done on the field but at the moment I repeat that the feeling is that they will not sign him.”

He then went on to rule out the possibility of Thiago Alcantara ending up at Inter.

“Thiago will most likely return to Spain. Bayern officials say there are still no official offers for him on the negotiating table.

“I can see Thiago playing for any great team in the world but I don’t think he will go to Inter. In my opinion, the Nerazzurri have a strong team, but they are not yet ready to win the Champions League and that’s one of his biggest goals.”

In conclusion he spoke on how Inter are viewed in Germany.

“People are acknowledging the fact that Inter are resurrecting. They have been able to contend for top spot in Serie A with Juventus in the first half of the season.

“There is a belief that if they continue to invest in the team, they will soon be able to be one of the top teams in Europe again. They have strong players and very good management.

“In general, there is a perception of a rebirth of Italian football after years in which Juventus have dominated.”

Cagliari President Giulini On Signing Inter Owned Nainggolan: “I Can’t Answer This Today”

Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini has admitted he cannot answer whether Radja Nainggolan will remain with the club or not at this moment.

The Belgian has spent the season on loan at the Sardinia based Rossoblu club from Inter and Cagliari have not hidden the fact that if there is a possibility to keep him they will certainly try to keep him.

Nainggolan has also been linked with moves to other clubs such as Fiorentina, who could finance a move for him by selling Erick Pulgar.

“What we do in the transfer market will be determined by what we do in the next seven matches. The higher we finish, the more chances we will have. Today it is not a question that I can answer,” Giulini remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following Cagliari’s goalless draw with Fiorentina last night at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Whilst on loan at Cagliari, 32-year-old Nainggolan, who still has two years left on his contract with Inter, has made 28 appearances across all competitions to date.

During his time on the park, which totals just over 2200 minutes, he has scored six goals and provided seven assists for his teammates.
