Inter Legend Suarez: “Allow Me To Give You Some Advice Lautaro, Stay Where You Are”

In an interview with Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter legend Luis Suarez has admitted that if he were Lautaro Martinez he would not leave Inter.

Lautaro continues to be heavily linked with a potential Summer transfer window switch to La Liga giants Barcelona but Suarez, who also played for the Blaugrana during his playing career, thinks that the Argentine should stay where he is, as difficult as that may be.

“Staying or not is a very difficult question but if I were in his place I would not change clubs,” he explained in the interview which appeared in today’s print edition of the Milan based news outlet.

“If Messi calls it would be difficult for anyone to remain. However, we are talking about a very young boy who has plenty of time to try other challenges in the future and lets face it, in Spain he would play less than at Inter.

“What role would he play in a trophy won with Inter compared to one at Barcelona? If Inter won the league or even just the Coppa Italia, Martinez would be a protagonist in it and this, in my view, is worth a lot.

“Allow me to give you some advice Lautaro, stay where you are.”

Suarez, who was an integral part of Inter’s ‘Grande Inter’ side during the 1960s, then went on to speak about Mauro Icardi.

“The relationship is now definitively compromised. I think it is almost impossible to imagine him again with us. I would have loved to see a trident at San Siro of Mauro, Lukaku and Lautaro.”

He then proceeded to discuss both Ivan Perisic and Radja Nainggolan’s respective futures with the club.

“Compared to Icardi, the reasons for their farewells are different. I think they were purely for technical/tactical reasons. It’s too bad they left last summer, they could have given Inter a lot.”

Suarez, who one the Balon d’Or once during his playing days, concluded the interview by sharing his thoughts on Inter January transfer window recruit Christian Eriksen.

“He struggled a lot, I would say too much. Inevitably he must be considered rejected, at least for now. In any case, in the Premier League and with the Danish national team he has always done great things, how can someone forget how to play football?”

Udinese Owner Pozzo On Inter Linked Musso: “He’s Very Strong But Must Stay For Another Year”

Udinese president and owner Giampaolo Pozzo has shared his belief that goalkeeper Juan Musso should stay with the club for at least another season amid reported interest in his services from elsewhere.

Inter are one of several clubs to have been linked with making a move for the Argentine shot stopper, who recently revealed that he was happy due to the interest that the Nerazzurri club have shown in him as of late.

Inter have seemingly identified the former Racing Club keeper as someone capable of initially serving as understudy to current number one Samir Handanovic before taking over from him and being the number one for years to come after that.

“Musso is very strong, but he must stay for another year here in Udine to fully complete his growth,” Pozzo remarked in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition of the Milan based daily newspaper.

This season Musso has made 27 appearances across all competitions to date during which he has managed to record a total of nine clean sheets.

No Clubs Currently Interested In Signing Inter Midfielder Joao Mario Permanently

No club has come forward and shown an interest in signing Joao Mario on a permanent basis from Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Portuguese national team midfielder is currently out on loan at Russian Premier League club Lokomotiv Moscow and although they have an option to buy him outright for €18 million, the club’s president has recently admitted that they cannot afford to buy him.

The report goes on to explain that Joao Mario would be allowed to leave Inter for just €14 million but other than some rather timid interest from Real Betis and Marseille, there is no other interest in the former Sporting CP player, who Inter spent a then club record €45 million to sign back in 2016.

It goes on to add that the most probable outcome for Joao Mario is another loan experience somewhere else next season.

Whilst in Russia he has made 15 appearances in which he has scored one goal and tallied four assists.

Italian Media Claim Inter Take Hard Stance On Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez After Missing Out On Dries Mertens

Inter could take a more rigid stance in negotiations with Barcelona over Lautaro Martinez after having missed out on signing Dries Mertens according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, aired earlier this afternoon.

Inter looked set to land Mertens on a free transfer once his deal expired with Napoli but the player had a change of heart and is now instead on the verge of extending his stay with the Stadio San Paolo club, who he has played for since 2013.

The report goes on to add that Lautaro will push to leave Inter to join the Blaugrana club but states that he will not force things.

Italian Media Reports Inter President Steven Zhang Sees Signing Sandro Tonali As Integral To Overtaking Juventus

There are three key reasons as to why Inter are courting Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali according to a report from the online edition of Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The first reason is his suitability to Inter manager Antonio Conte’s system and the fact he can be a more than viable alternative to Marcelo Brozovic and also play alongside and support him too.

The second reason Inter are chasing the highly rated 20-year-old Italian national team midfielder is because he fits perfectly in line with the club’s transfer policy as he is young and Italian with plenty of potential and can play a part for the club in the medium to long term.

The third reason is that Inter want to close the gap with their arch rivals Juventus and believe that signing Tonali would send an important signal with regard to their intentions an opinion Inter president Steven Zhang is a big proponent of, the report concludes.

This season Tonali has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided a total of five assists for his teammates.

Brescia President Cellino Slaps €50M Price Tag On Inter, Juventus & Barcelona Target Sandro Tonali

Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino has zero intention of letting top prospect Sandro Tonali leave the club for anything less than €50 million according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset aired this afternoon.

Brescia are waiting to see if the many clubs to have been linked with making a move for him, including Barcelona, Juventus and Barcelona, will move for him.

Whilst Cellino is adamant that he will not accept a penny less than €50 million, the report goes on to claim that he could be convinced into accepting less if the club are to receive an interesting player or players as part of any deal.

Inter have not been frightened by Brescia’s demands and are at work trying to come up with an offer that could satisfy the needs of Cellino.

Brescia are interested in Inter youngster Sebastiano Esposito but Inter will not allow him to leave the club on a permanent basis given he is one of the most promising youngsters to have come through at the club in many years. Inter could however agree to letting him join La Rondinelle on loan as part of a deal for Tonali.

The report goes on to add that should Brescia be relegated to Serie B, then Tonali’s value could drop.

Inter have four potential replacements in mind should Lautaro Martinez depart the club in the coming months according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Barcelona have seemingly identified the 22-year-old striker as one of their top transfer targets ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window and have reportedly offered him a bumper contract to link up alongside compatriot Lionel Messi.

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of Inter’s potential replacements for him and he could cost them in the region of €40 million to sign. He does however have an annual salary of €12 million which is rather steep for Inter.

The Argentine national team player’s deal with his current employers is due to expire at the end of next season meaning a deal at ‘normal’ figures could take place. He earns in excess of €15 million a season but Inter could offer a three year deal with an annual salary of €9-10 million.

Lyon’s Moussa Dembele is another player who could potentially replace Lautaro at Inter. The former Celtic player has impressed for the French side and is by far the most obtainable for Inter from a salary point of view given he currently earns €2.5 million a year.

Finally there is RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, who has also drawn links over a move to Liverpool, who are ready to pay his release clause, which will be €50 million if RB Leipzig fail to win the Bundesliga.
