Inter Add Man City’s Sergio Aguero To List Of Replacements For €111M Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez

Inter could make a move for Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero if Lautaro Martinez departs the club in the coming months according to a report from Italian football journalist and transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla.

Lautaro continues to be heavily linked with a possible Summer transfer window move to Barcelona and due to this Inter management are preparing for a potential departure by identifying possible replacements.

Aguero’s contract with the reigning Premier League champions, who he has been with since 2011, is due to expire at the end of next season and his relationship with the club is far from idyllic at the moment.

The former Atletico Madrid player, who has been one of the most prolific goalscorers of the past decade, has made 30 appearances across all competitions to date this term and in just over 2000 minutes on the field, the Argentine international has scored 23 goals and has provided a total of three assists for his teammates.

Italian Media Claim Man Utd Owned Alexis Sanchez Could Stay At Inter Past This Season

Due to how difficult it could be to sign either Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani or RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner this Summer, there is a possibility that Alexis Sanchez could remain with Inter past the end of this season according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Sanchez is currently out on loan at Inter from Manchester United and should he perform well if/when the Serie A season resumes Inter could pursue a permanent deal for him.

The Chilean national team attacker currently earns €12 million a season from the Premier League club and Inter have paid €5 million of it during his loan spell with the club, which has been largely forgettable and filled with below par performances.

Whilst in Milan, the former Arsenal and Barcelona player has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date. In just shy of 600 minutes on the pitch, Sanchez has scored a single goal and has also provided three assists.

Inter Speed Up Efforts To Land PSG Striker Edinson Cavani On A Free Transfer This Summer

Inter have sped up their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Uruguayan international striker Edinson Cavani according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Inter appeared close to signing Dries Mertens but now the player has made a u-turn and looks set to extend his contract with Napoli.

As a result of this, Inter have now shifted their attention to Cavani, whose contract with Paris Saint Germain expires at the end of next month.

Inter are not alone in courting the former Napoli player with the report from the Rome based newspaper going on to add that Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid are also keen on adding him to their ranks in the coming months.

This season Cavani has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date and in just shy of 1100 minutes on the field, he has scored seven goals and has provided three assists for his teammates.

Amantino Mancini: “I Had A Beautiful & Unique Experience At Inter”

Former Inter player Amantino Mancini has reflected on his spell with Inter as part of an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia as part of their ‘Casa Sky Sport’ interview series aired yesterday.

The Brazilian joined Inter in the Summer of 2008 from fellow Serie A side Roma and spent two years on Inter’s books, the final six months of which he spent out on loan at Inter’s city rivals AC Milan.

He began the interview by speaking on why he was never signed permanently by the Rossoneri club at the end of his loan spell.

“Why was I not bought by AC Milan? After I went on loan to them because I wasn’t playing at Inter, I remember I played three games and got injured. I spent two and a half months out injured.”

He then went on to speak about his time on Inter’s books.

“At Inter the first year went well with Mourinho. At the beginning I was playing in his 4-3-3, then he changed system and took me out the team.

“However, it was a beautiful experience in a large and important club. I thank President Moratti who wanted me very much.

“Things change in football and it is not always the manager’s fault. Maybe at the time I wasn’t at my best and therefore it was right to take me out the team. All in all, it was a unique experience. Both Inter and AC Milan are great clubs.”

Next, the now retired 39-year-old spoke on what it was like to work under Jose Mourinho at Inter.

“He understood that in that period I was not doing well and he settled on playing 4-4-2. As I said before, maybe in that period I was not doing well and therefore it was right not to play me.

“He is a manager who manages to bring out the best in the players. I remember in a press conference after a 3-0 defeat he had created a little controversy and the next day nobody talked about the game anymore, but about his behaviour.

“He was very good at taking responsibility from the players and was very well prepared in communication. Was it him who blocked my transfer to Genoa? No, actually it was me who didn’t want to go.”

Mancini, who made seven appearances for the Brazilian national team during his playing career, made a total of 36 appearances for Inter in which he scored one goal and tallied four assists.

Inter Legend Marco Materazzi: “Against Everything & Everyone, Thank You Inter Fans For Your Support”

In an open letter posted on Inter’s official website, legendary defender Marco Materazzi has touched upon a number of different topics relating to his time with the club.

“For me, it was always a matter of life or death. Every game, every ball. Unpleasant, unbearable, tedious. I’ve been called all sorts of things. But you know, this is the way I am. I’ve always been like this. Whether I’m playing a football match or a game of ping-pong with my children, losing really pains me.

“And when I’ve lost, I’ve never been ashamed to cry: releasing those pent-up feelings helps. The Nerazzurri tears I shed encompassed a wide array of emotions, from dejection and despair to joy and love.

“They also encompassed glory. My journey at Inter was like being on a roller coaster: there were bumps along the road, there were twists and turns, steep inclines and feelings of euphoria.”

He then went on to recall some of the occasions where he did shed a tear during his time on Inter’s books.

“I cried on May 5 2002, I cried after the Derby in the Champions League, I cried when Giacinto passed away, I cried when we won everything, and I cried when I hugged Mourinho and told him to stay.”

He then recalled his arrival at Inter from fellow Italian club Perugia and how he got used to overcome challenges that presented themselves.

“When I joined Inter, it didn’t take me long to realise that it would be different here. I feel as though everything I did in the Nerazzurri shirt was worth twice as much: ‘Against everything and everyone’.

“Overcoming challenges is something I’d got used to as a child. My father was a coach, so we used to follow him from city to city.

“This meant that I was regularly forced to say goodbye to friends and start from scratch, with this applying to both school and football. I achieved everything I did one step at a time, sometimes with great difficulty on tough pitches.”

Materazzi then went on to recall Inter legend Giacinto Facchetti’s death and what he helped him do a few days prior to his death.

“In the summer of 2006, Giacinto was already unwell. He was like a father, a brother and a friend to me. He understood me, even during the most difficult times.

“As Berlin approached, I wrote to him and said: “I’m waiting for you to come and see me.” However, I knew it wouldn’t be possible.

“At the end of August, I promised that I’d visit him in hospital and bring him the Italian Super Cup. We won 4-3 against Roma and I did just that. That day, he had visitors wanting to make an imprint for the Golden Foot. I helped lift him up, and he leaned on me as the cast was made. He died a few days later.”

Next Materazzi went on to discuss Inter’s historic treble winning 2009/10 season in which Inter became the first Italian club to win a treble consisting of the Serie A title, Coppa Italia and Champions League.

“When it comes to this season, I feel that it’s necessary to start right from the very beginning, from Pasadena and the friendly between Chelsea and Inter. We lost 2-0, but there was the feeling that something was emerging. I sent a now-famous text to Eto’o, who didn’t have my number: “If you come to Inter, we’ll win everything.”

“Speaking of text messages, Mourinho would often send them. This was his way of keeping everyone on their toes. We all felt included, even those who were playing less. The intensity in training was always high. Every session was a small war where everyone would give their all.

“Do you know what the turning point was that season? The 3-1 defeat to Catania. I can still hear José shouting to this day. He completely tore into us. We then headed to London for Chelsea vs. Inter knowing that it could all go up in smoke in just a matter of days. But instead…

“Another tough moment was the 2-2 draw in Florence. But we tried to find the positives as we returned to Milan: “Come on, maybe this will be a valuable point come the end of the season.” And so it proved to be.

“I damaged the dugout in Barcelona, but I swear I didn’t do it on purpose. I saw Messi cut inside and let fly with that left-footed effort: Julio leapt across and I leapt up, resulting in the damage…

“Rome, Lazio 0-2 Inter. With the match about to end, Mourinho approached me and said: “Marco, would you like to play in the Coppa Italia final?” I still smile when I think back to it today: would anyone have said no in response? After that fixture, I trained on the Olimpico pitch, and it was one of the most intense sessions of my life. I began playing that final against Roma three days in advance… and what a battle it was.

“And then there was Madrid. Mourinho had been clear in explaining that Cordoba was better suited to come on against Barcelona, who would bring on Bojan during the match, while I needed to be ready to face Bayern, who would possibly send on Gomez. So I knew that I’d play, be it ten minutes, one minute or ten seconds. It wasn’t important how long I’d be on the pitch for, the only important thing was for us all to see it through.

“I wanted to close the circle, the roller coaster needed to finish in the best way possible. Everyone keeps asking me about Milito’s feint and if we’d prepared it in training. But it’s quite simple: with Diego, you knew what was coming but you were never able to stop him. We were also delighted for Moratti, who was as happy as a child at Christmas.”

Next he spoke on what it meant to win the World Cup with Italy and all the trophies that he did with Inter.

“I’ve already talked about tears: often children cry out of fear before getting on a merry-go-round that will go at full speed. But once they’re on, they don’t want to get off. I won the World Cup, which for me was like winning ten trophies. And while at Inter, I won everything.

“But my secret was that I was never satisfied with what I’d achieved. Even today, I still feel regret at the team letting those five trophies slip away.”

In conclusion he thanked the fans for the support that they gave him whilst he represented the club.

“Winning for our colours is the best thing that exists, I’ve always felt a close bond to Inter. The Nerazzurri faithful gave me strength and I always tried to display this out on the pitch.

“You often thank me for our triumphs, but I’d like to thank you, both for your support and for your passion. It’s because of you that I managed to fulfil my dreams and yours too.”

AZ Alkmaar Captain Koopmeiners Agent: “He’s Been Linked To Napoli & Inter But There’s Absolutely Nothing”

AZ Alkmaar midfielder and club captain Teun Koopmeiners agent Michael Janssen has confirmed that whilst his client has been linked with moves to Italy lately, there are currently no negotiations going on.

The former Dutch under 21 national team player is amongst the Netherlands brightest prospects at the moment and is part of a very exciting young AZ Alkmaar team that also includes the likes of Myron Boadu and Calvin Stengs.

“For months in Italy Koopmeiners has been linked with various clubs, not only Napoli but also Inter. At the moment, however, there is absolutely nothing. Signing one of the best Dutch players is not a low cost operation,” Janssen explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Marte late last night.

Koopmeiners is a product of AZ Alkamaar’s academy and has a contract with the Eredivisie side through to the end of the 2022/23 season.

This season Koopmeiners, who can also play as a centre back, has been virtually ever present with him having made 42 appearances across all competitions and played all barring 34 minutes of AZ Alkmaar’s season.

In 3777 minutes on the field, Koopmeiners has scored 16 goals and provided a total of three assists for his teammates.
