Lazio Join Inter In Race To Sign Hellas Verona’s €30M Rated Marash Kumbulla

Lazio have joined the race to sign Inter target Marash Kumbulla, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Biancocelesti registered their interest in the 20-year-old Albanian defender a year ago and have now re-joined the race to sign the Hellas Verona starlet. The player is valued at around €30 million, a high figure considering the current financial climate. Lazio have already met Kumbulla’s entourage and would like to bring the player to Rome.

Inter are seriously interested in signing Kumbulla, the report continues, but must also be aware that some Premier League clubs may also join the race for the player.

The 20-year-old Albanian defender, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022, has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1581 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.

€20M Rated Winger Ivan Perisic Could Leave Bayern Munich & Return To Uncertain Future At Inter

Inter owned winger Ivan Perisic could return to Milan as Bayern Munich are not sure whether to sign him or not, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri sent the 31-year-old Croatian forward on loan to the German giants last summer, with a buy option agreed at €20 million.

However, the Bundesliga side aren’t willing to pay the full fee for him but would be happy to take him on loan again next season, which would save Inter having to pay his wages.

Perisic could also return to the squad, the report continues, considering how the only player certain to remain in that department is Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku. Alexis Sanchez will return to Manchester United, Sebastiano Esposito is likely to move elsewhere out on loan and Lautaro Martinez could be sold to Barcelona, who have been pressing hard for the 22-year-old.

Napoli Have Not Given Up On Keeping Inter & Chelsea Target Dries Mertens

Napoli are refusing to give up on Inter target Dries Mertens and are attempting to convince him to sign a new contract, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Partenopei attempted to offer the 33-year-old Belgian striker a new contract at the start of March, but the meeting between the player and president Aurelio De Laurentiis ended without a signature.

Leaving Naples won’t be easy for Mertens and his wife Katrin, who are both perfectly happy in the city and have been there since 2013.

The player’s teammates and his coach Gennaro Gattuso have been trying to convince him to stay with the club, the report continues. Yesterday, the club’s fans launched a petition on social media via a hashtag, #MeritiamoUnFinaleDiverso, We Deserve A Different Ending, showing their love for the 33-year-old.

Mertens is keen to play under coach Antonio Conte and has been talking to his close friend Romelu Lukaku, who has been tempting him to head to Milan.

Inter Reflecting On How To React To PSG’s Request Of Discount On Mauro Icardi’s €70M Price Tag

Inter are unsure how to react to Paris Saint Germain’s request for a discount on Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri want €70 million for the 27-year-old’s signature, the figure agreed upon between the two clubs last summer. PSG themselves have asked for a discount, highlighting the difficult financial situation they are experiencing due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Icardi had a €110 million release clause in his contract, the report continues, and so Inter’s request of €70 million is already a significant devaluation. The Nerazzurri want to avoid a situation where Icardi returns to Milan, as then it will be known that the club will take a discounted figure in order to get him off their books.

The 27-year-old has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring 20 goals and providing four assists in that time.

Inter Could Include Newcastle Loanee Valentino Lazaro In Player + Cash Offer For Liverpool Target Timo Werner

Inter would be happy to offer RB Leipzig Valentino Lazaro as part of the deal for German striker Timo Werner, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri sent the 24-year-old Austrian midfielder to Newcastle in January on a loan deal, with a buy option attached worth €24 million. The Premier League side are unsure whether to purchase the player or not but Inter have a plan should he return to Milan.

The Nerazzurri would be happy to include Lazaro as part of the deal for Werner, the report continues. Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are fans of Lazaro and registered their interest in the 24-year-old in January, and so may be tempted by his inclusion into the deal.

Inter believe that Werner may be the perfect replacement for 22-year-old Argentine star Lautaro Martinez, the report highlights, who is heavily wanted by Barcelona. The Nerazzurri want a replacement lined up before they agree to sell the player.

Inter Pressing Hard To Sign Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen On A Free Transfer

Inter are working hard to try and sign Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri believe that the 33-year-old Belgian may be the perfect fit for coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system. The player has experience playing in a three-man defence and would be able to play on the left side, a problem area for Inter considering Milan Skriniar’s tough adaption to the role.

Other clubs are also interested in signing the Tottenham defender, the report continues, including Napoli and Roma, as well as other Premier League clubs, Ajax and Atletico Madrid. Vertonghen’s contract will expire with Spurs at the end of the season, and so he will be available to sign on a free transfer. He has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2151 minutes. He has scored two goals and provided one assist in that time.

UK Media Claims Man Utd To Offer Inter €58M For Real Madrid Target Milan Skriniar

Manchester United are seriously interested in signing Inter defender Milan Skriniar and are preparing an offer for the player, according to a report from English media outlet Daily Mirror.

The report details how the Red Devils are keen on the 25-year-old Slovakian centre back, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023. United will face competition from Spanish giants Real Madrid, who are looking for a long-term replacement for Sergio Ramos. Inter’s request is around €60 million, although no club so far have offered more than €44.75 million.

Manchester City were previously interested in Skriniar, the report continues, but have changed targets, the same as Catalan giants Barcelona. The battle now is simply between Manchester United and Real Madrid for the player’s signature.

Skriniar has made 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2762 minutes. In that time, he has provided one assist and helped the squad keep nine clean sheets.

Inter Seriously Consider Signing PSG Trio Edinson Cavani, Thomas Meunier & Laywin Kurzawa

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has analysed all of Inter’s potential free transfer targets.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are interested in signing Belgian striker Dries Mertens in the summer, after his contract expires with Napoli. The Partenopei are working to try and secure a new deal for the 33-year-old, but there is still some distance between the two parties.

Inter are also interested in multiple Paris Saint Germain players who will be available to sign on a free transfer in the summer, the report continues. These players are Layvin Kurzawa and Thomas Meunier, two who could strengthen the Nerazzurri’s full back department.

The Milanese club are also keen on Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani, who could be brought in to either help replace Lautaro Martinez or play alongside him. The player is waiting for a sign from PSG, but it doesn’t seem likely that the club will offer him a new contract, especially if they are looking to sign Mauro Icardi.

Ex-Inter Defender Ivan Cordoba: “AC Milan’s Shevchenko Was The Most Difficult Striker To Mark”

Former Inter defender Ivan Ramiro Cordoba discussed his rivalry against former AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko and other topics in an interview in yesterday’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“First of all, that he was loyal, very strong you know. Shevchenko always expressed all his football with the team in mind and without doing anything weird. Without being a phenomenon, just to be clearer.”

He discussed how he would work hard to ensure that Shevchenko wouldn’t score easily.

“A defender must always make the attacker feel that he’s there, but I don’t remember him as a whining opponent, not at all. But above all, he wasn’t one of those rivals that make you want to beat them, even if he did everything he could to make me angry.”

The Colombian touched on how the Ukrainian striker did score against him many times.

“Yes, several times. But several times he didn’t, he scored a lot of goals, I took a lot of them away from him, stopping them. But that’s the way football is, you always remember who scores goals, almost never those who stop it.”

He moved onto talking about why he was the player often chosen to mark the player.

“Because he was fast, quick and strong mentally. If you tackled Shevchenko you knew one thing, if the ball went behind the defence and he got it, 99 times out of 100 it was a goal. But I don’t remember his goals where he started off and found himself alone in front of the goalkeeper.”

Cordoba revealed that he was never worried about marking any opponent, not even Shevchenko.

“Never had the anxiety of having to face an opponent. First because there’s a team defence and I’ve always had faith in my teammates. I didn’t feel alone against Shevchenko, never. Secondly because I knew it was also a personal challenge and so I prepared myself mentally, a lot, it was concentration, not anxiety.”

He confirmed that he did study the player before facing the Rossoneri.

“Absolutely yes, when you have to deal with someone as unpredictable as he was, the only thing you can do is try to reduce the chances of him surprising you.”

The Colombian spoke about Shevchenko’s first Milanese derby, where he scored two goals in a 3-2 win for the Nerazzurri.

“Before that day I’d only seen him on TV, but an opponent is something else when you’re facing them. I quickly understood who I’d be dealing with. And that day I wasn’t very happy even though we had won, a defender would always want to finish a game with zero goals conceded.”

He touched on the 2003 Champions League semi-finals.

“We played that game in a back three, me, Materazzi and Cannavaro. Almost man against man with Sheva and Inzaghi, they didn’t bother us much, but I wasn’t happy that day either, at least one goal had to be scored. Also, because we already knew that Shevchenko would hardly go two games without scoring.”

Cordoba spoke about the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

“In fact, on the return leg he scored, and it finished 1-1. And to think that I also played well, but if that day there was something that could go wrong, it did. The moment before the goal with the ball on his foot is something that I’ve been dreaming about it for a long time.”

Finally, Cordoba spoke about how he has previously named Shevchenko as one of the toughest players that he’s faced in his career, alongside former Inter striker Ronaldo.

“Never has anyone had the domination of the ball and the power in speed like Ronaldo. But I only faced him with the national team and when he was at AC Milan, when he was no longer himself.

“Sheva was the toughest in Italy not only because of the goals he scored, but because he was a complete and smart striker. You could never let him out of your sight, for him it was the inches, not the metres, that became decisive.

“Sheva started from the left, from the right, you’d find him everywhere, like that pain in the ass Inzaghi, but with all due respect, if Inzaghi ran I could catch him, if Shevchenko ran it was a gamble, maybe I’ll catch him, maybe I won’t. And if you didn’t get him back, nine times out of ten it was a goal.”
