Inter CEO Marotta Blasts FIGC Medical Protocol To Resume Serie A: “Impractical & Not Sensible”

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has blasted the Italian government’s proposed medical protocol that will have to be adhered to in order for group training to resume again.

“The protocol impractical and not very sensible,” Marotta is quoted as saying by Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

The report goes on to explain that Inter and several other Serie A clubs are simply not well enough equipped to meet the demands of keeping the entire team in a training ground retreat in order to allow the season to be completed.

Inter for example only have 27 rooms, which would not be anywhere near enough to require the players and the staff of the club.

Inter are one of several clubs demanding changes to the protocol which could well threaten the prospect of training resuming from this coming Monday. These demands come just several hours after the Italian players association and Italian football agents associations also raised concerns of their own.

Chilean Media Claims Inter & Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal Are Not Close To Agreeing Personal Terms For The Midfie lder

An agreement between Inter and Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal over personal terms is not imminent an unnamed Inter director has confirmed to Chilean news outlet El Grafico.

Reports in the media have suggested that the two parties were close to reaching an agreement over personal terms with Inter keen to add the Chilean national team player to their ranks in the coming months.

The report goes on to add that Inter are not currently prioritising the transfer market given the current Coronavirus crisis and they are solely focused on health.

Reports have suggested that Inter could acquire Vidal as part of a deal that would send Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona but others have suggested Inter would prefer to do a separate deal for Vidal, who Barcelona are said to value at €20 million.

This season Vidal has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored six goals and tallied three assists.

Italian Media Reports Inter Refuse To Lower Asking Price For Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez

Inter continue to refuse to lower their asking price for Argentinian international striker Lautaro Martinez amid continued interest from Barcelona according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

The Blaugrana club have shown a keen interest in signing the 22-year-old striker for some time but are reluctant to meet Inter’s demands for the highly rated Argentine national team player.

Inter, as per the report, want Lautaro’s €111 million release clause paid or an offer consisting of €90 million plus either one or two players.

The report goes on to explain that due to both clubs being reluctant it will not be easy for any potential deal for the former Racing Club player to be concluded quickly.

This season Lautaro, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In 2437 minutes on the park, Lautaro has scored 16 goals and has also provided four assists for his teammates.

Inter Coach Antonio Conte & Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal Set To Be Reunited This Summer

One way or another Antonio Conte will be reunited with Arturo Vidal in the upcoming Summer transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The Inter manager is desperate to be reunited with the Barcelona and Chilean national team midfielder who is destined to leave the Catalan club at the end of this season.

The arrival of Vidal at Inter could cushion the blow of losing Lautaro Martinez for Conte as he will get a player he knows well and has wanted since his arrival at Inter this past Summer.

Come this Summer Vidal will have just a year left on his contract with Barcelona and with him set to turn 33-years-old in just over a week’s time, Inter do not want to pay a lot for him and know that Barcelona will not be able to command a big fee for him due to this either.

Inter have set their sights on bringing in Edinson Cavani and Dries Mertens in the upcoming Summer transfer window to bolster the attack according to a report from Italian broadcaster SportMediaset.

Both Cavani and Mertens current deals with Paris Saint Germain and Napoli are due to expire at the end of next month thus meaning both could be acquired on free transfers.

Inter have offered Mertens a two year deal with an annual salary of €5 million and he is in fact already looking for a home in Milan.

Inter have also shown an interest in bringing in Timo Werner from RB Leipzig but in order to afford him they need to raise funds and those funds could come via the sale of Lautaro Martinez.

The report goes on to state that those funds could instead be put toward signing Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, who is at the top of Inter’s shortlist to reinforce the midfield.
