Italian Media Reports Inter Will Either Sell Or Reintegrate Radja Nainggolan In The Squad – No More Loans

Inter’s priority is to sell Radja Nainggolan this Summer but there is a possibility that he could be reintegrated in the squad according to a report from Italian news outlet PassioneInter.com.

The former Belgian national team player was one of three players alongside Ivan Perisic and Mauro Icardi who was considered to be out of the club’s project by club management this past Summer and he was loaned out to Cagliari for the season.

Nainggolan has a value of €19.6 million against Inter’s books and also has a salary out of reach for many other clubs within Italy with him earning €4.5 million net a year.

It will therefore be difficult for Inter to find a buyer for the former Roma player and given his impressive performances for the Rossoblu this term, Inter manager Antonio Conte being a fan and the good relations he has with his teammates, there is a chance he could be reinstated and given another chance at the club.

Napoli Remain Hopeful About Extending Contract Of Inter & Chelsea Target Dries Mertens

Napoli’s leadership are refusing to give up hope when it comes to keeping a hold of Dries Mertens despite the fact that time is running out according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Mertens current deal with the club is due to expire at the end of next month and there has been a lot of clubs who have shown an interest in signing him on a free transfer.

Despite the interest from elsewhere and the fact that some clubs, including Inter, have even extended contract offers to the 33-year-old Belgian national team player, Napoli maintain their belief that they will manage to reach an agreement with Mertens to extend his stay in the south of Italy.

The report goes on to explain that Inter and Chelsea’s offers are tempting Mertens, who has made 29 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored 12 goals and provided six assists.

Inter Decline Barcelona’s Offer Of Samuel Umtiti In Exchange For Milan Skriniar

Inter have no interest in acquiring Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti for several reasons according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

A recent report suggested that Barcelona would be willing to offer the 2018 World Cup winning centre back to Inter as part of a deal for Milan Skriniar but Inter are not interested in such a deal taking place as they are not interested in the former Lyon player.

The main reason Inter are not interested is because Umtiti is left footed and Inter would prefer to continue to show faith in their current left footed centre back Alessandro Bastoni and either bring in Jan Vertonghen, Marash Kumbulla or Armando Izzo as cover for him.

The feasibility of a deal given Barcelona’s financial problems is also a reason Inter are not interested.

This season Umtiti has found playing time limited to just 16 appearances across all competitions to date with foot and knee injuries playing a big part in that. In 1209 minutes he has made zero goal contributions.

Italian Olympic Committee President Malago: “I’m 99.9% Sure Serie A Will Resume On June 13”

Italian Olympic Committee president Giovanni Malago has revealed that he is almost 100 per cent certain that the Serie A season will resume next month on Saturday June 13.

Yesterday Lega Serie A set the above date as the provisional date for the season to resume after that date was preferred to a restart a week later on Saturday June 20.

The season has already been on hold for just over two months as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus and if all goes to plan it will resume just over three months after it was suspended.

“The Serie A season will restart on June 13, I’m 99.9 per cent sure. I don’t understand the discussion between some medics and the Italian government’s Technical Scientific Committee,” Malago remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Rai 2 earlier on today.

He then admitted to being uncertain when it comes to when the season may end despite Lega Serie A stating Sunday August 2 as the date the 2019/20 Serie A season will conclude if it resumes on June 13 as planned.

“Everything is being done with the aim of starting again, it is the primary objective. Once it starts again, I don’t know when it will end, you would need a crystal ball for that.”

Spanish Media Reports Barcelona Want To Sign €111M Rated Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez By End Of May

Barcelona are in a hurry to finalise a deal for Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and could do so by the end of May, possibly even as early as next weekend according to a report from Spanish news outlet Sport.

Inter have realised that it will be impossible for them to keep Lautaro at the club given they cannot offer him a contract extension in line with what Barcelona have offered him but they still want more than what Barcelona are prepared to offer them, the report goes on.

As per the report, Barcelona are willing to offer a sum of €60 million plus two players but Inter want more than this for the highly rated 22-year-old, who has a €111 million release clause in his current contract.

Joao Cancelo could be a player that Inter acquire with Barcelona reportedly wanting to exchange Nelson Semedo for the Manchester City full back before then moving him on to Inter as part of a deal for Lautaro.

Inter & Juventus Linked Tonali’s Agent: “He’ll Do His Talking On The Pitch”

Sandro Tonali’s agent Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bozzo has been short and succinct in his praise of him when asked about his client amid ongoing links to moves elsewhere.

The recently turned 20-year-old Brescia midfielder has been heavily linked with moves to both Inter and Juventus and a number of other clubs from abroad have also been linked with Tonali, who is widely regarded as one of the best up and coming Italian talents.

“Tonali is very good, let’s let him speak on the pitch,” Bozzo explained in an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

Bozzo, who also represents the likes of Juventus’ Federico Bernardeschi and Torino’s Simone Zaza, then went on to discuss how a number of teams are now building their squads with an Italian core with him specifically discussing Juventus and Inter.

“The process on Italianisation of the squad started some time ago,” he continued the interview.

“It’s reflected in the national team that Mancini is cleverly putting together with some interesting young players.

“Juventus have always been very attentive and oriented towards the construction and maintenance of an Italian core.

“Recently, Inter have also been trying such an approach. They have been for some years now and even more so since Marotta’s arrival.”

Bozzo then went on to speak about how he thinks the Coronavirus crisis could impact the upcoming Summer transfer market.

“I believe that the Coronavirus emergency and the creative market that will follow doesn’t necessarily have to be an obstacle for our talents to stay in Italy.”
