Inter Prioritizing Signing Juventus Target Sandro Tonali Over Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa

Inter are the club most interested in signing Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali as revealed by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio during his ‘Calciomercato – L’Originale’ show late last night.

Inter have identified the newly turned 20-year-old sensation as a player capable of making the leap into Antonio Conte’s team but they face competition from their arch rivals Juventus for his signature.

According to the report, the Nerazzurri have prioritized signing Tonali over signing Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa whose price tag is too high for the Nerazzurri as things stand.

Tonali wont come cheap either, as he is widely regarded as one of the best Italian prospects out there at the moment and reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino is demanding no less than €50 million for the player. Tonali’s contract expires at the end of June 2021 but there is an option to extend it by a further season.

The Italian international has very much impressed in his first season in Serie A despite the fact Brescia are rooted to the bottom of the table.

This season he has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and tallied five assists.

Inter Tracking Porto’s €30M Rated Wingback Jesus Corona But Man City’s Joao Cancelo Remains Inter’s First Choice

Inter have identified FC Porto’s Jesus Corona has a player they could bring in to play at right wing back according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The report claims that the Mexican international is a player who has intrigued Inter management for some time, especially chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio.

The former FC Twente player, who has also had interest shown in him by Spanish and English clubs, has a €30 million release clause in his current contract with the Liga NOS side but is not Inter’s first choice for the position.

The Rome based newspaper goes on to explain that Inter’s first choice is Manchester City and Portugual national team player Joao Cancelo, a player who knows the club already having spent the 2017/18 season on loan.

Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Inter could acquire Cancelo as part of a three way deal between themselves, Barcelona and Manchester City.

Barcelona would exchange Nelson Semedo and Cancelo and would proceed to offer cash plus Cancelo for Lautaro Martinez.

Spanish Media Claims Lautaro Martinez Declines Man City’s & PSG’s Advances – Either Barcel ona Or Inter

Lautaro Martinez will only leave Inter for Barcelona and nobody else other than them according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

As per the report, the 22-year-old Argentine national team striker has told Inter management to only listen to offers from the Blaugrana club, who have shown an extremely keen interest in signing him for a good few months now.

According to the report, Lautaro has as a result declined advances from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as well as Paris Saint-Germain, deciding that he will either stay at Inter or move to Barcelona.

Now it is time for the clubs to try and strike an agreement over him. Inter are reluctant to let him go for anything less than his €111 million release clause whilst Barcelona do not want to pay anywhere near as much as that and want to do a player(s) plus cash deal for him instead.

The report goes on to explain that Arturo Vidal, Nelson Semedo, Junior Firpo and Jean-Clair Todibo are all candidates to be included in a deal for the former Racing Club player, who is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Ex-Inter Midfielder Felipe Melo: “Chiellini Doesn’t Like Me Because I Headbutted Him”

In an Instagram Live chat with Sebastien Frey yesterday afternoon, former Inter and Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo has hit back at former teammate Giorgio Chiellini over comments he made about him in his newly published book.

Chiellini labelled Melo as ‘the worst of the worst’ and a ‘rotten apple’ among other things in his book in which he also hit out at former Inter player and current Brescia player Mario Balotelli.

“This guy right here has a problem with me because I headbutted him in the game against Siena,” Melo began the interview.

“He has not apologised to me like he did with Balotelli. Chiellini created controversy in order to sell his book,”

“He should have followed the example set by the great Javier Zanetti, the vice president of Inter, who never mentioned Juventus in his books. Anyway, now is not the time to publish a book, there are people dying.”

The former Brazilian national team player who is currently on the books of Campeonato Brasileiro Série A side Palmeiras then went on to reflect about his spell with Inter.

“It was special, going to Inter was my childhood dream. I made history at Galatasaray, it was too comfortable for me to stay there because I was an idol of the fans. I had just renewed my contract for three years and I would have made a lot of money but I went to Inter and earned 50% less.

“When I was at Fiorentina, Mourinho and the others called me, unfortunately I went to Juve, a great club that opened its doors to me. I never spoke badly about Juve. When I entered San Siro with the Inter shirt, in the Milan derby, it was the best feeling for me. We won 1-0. That stadium is crazy.”

He then spoke on former Inter player Marco Materazzi, who, like him, was seen as a bit of a villain on the playing field during his playing days despite being the complete opposite off of it.

“He is an idol, I played against him many times but I didn’t play with him at Inter. He is one thing on the field but he is a friend to everyone off it. If he hadn’t been aggressive, maybe he wouldn’t have won the World Cup.”

Melo joined Inter on transfer deadline day of the 2015 Summer transfer window from Galatasaray and spent 18 months on Inter’s books before joining his current employers.

Whilst with Inter, Melo made 38 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he scored one goal and provided just as many assists.

Inter Legend Beppe Bergomi: “Inter Can Have A Say In The Serie A Title Race”

In an interview with Italian newspaper Il Giornale, legendary Inter defender and former club captain Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi spoke on a range of topics and started by discussing his personal battle with Coronavirus.
“In early March I was not well, but I was not particularly worried because I had other symptoms such as back pain and cold, not those that would suggest that I had contracted Coronavirus,” he began the interview which appeared in yesterday’s print edition.

“I decided to take the serological test to find out if I had contracted it and the tests showed that I had the antibodies.”

He was then asked about the race for the Serie A title and whether it is just solely a race between Juventus and Lazio, who are separated by just a single point at the top of the table.

“It is difficult to make a prediction as there is no precedent to go off of. All of the players have been stationary for two months, they have not touched a ball.

“Having said that, I think that Juventus and Lazio are favourites. Inter however may be a surprise and if they start as strong as they started the season then they can have their say.”
He then spoke on the progress that Inter have made in recent seasons to getting back to the level they previously were as a club.

“Inter are on their way and perhaps the only drawback of this season was the Champions League but the team has a clear identity and if they win their game in hand with Sampdoria then they are only six points behind Juventus.

“Until football was brought to a stop, it was an exremely positive year for Inter who have relied heavily on the two strikers. This year it was necessary to consolidate the two fourth place finished obtained under Spalletti in the last two seasons.”

Bergomi proceeded to discuss Lautaro Martinez’s possible departure from Inter in the coming months with him continously being linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

“He is young and an excellent player who is growing year after year. Faced with a big money offer, if the reports are true, how could you not sell him?”

In conclusion he spoke on comparisons that have been made between former Inter captain Mauro Icardi with the man who replaced him at Inter, Romelu Lukaku.

“The value of Icardi is not up for discussions but I believe that Lukaku is better with some things such as how he makes himself availabile to the team. I like the Belgian very much and I like Icardi too. Lukaku is at the centre of the project and Inter spent a lot of money to bring him in in the Summer.”

Juan Sebastian Veron: “I’ll Never Forget Winning The 2005/06 Serie A Title With Inter”

Former Inter midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron has admitted that the 2005/06 Serie A title that he won whilst with Inter is one of three trophy successes from his playing career that he will never forget.

The former Argentine national team player joined Inter in a two year loan deal in 2004 from Premier League side Chelsea and during his two year spell with the club he helped them to win four pieces of silverware, including the aforementioned Serie A title.

The current president of Superliga Argentine side Estudiantes also won the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana once.

Veron, who also represented the likes of Manchester United and Sampdoria during his career, made a total of 74 appearances across all competitions during his spell with Inter in which he scored four goals and provided a total of 11 assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.

“Every trophy I have won has its own history and importance. The first one I won was the Italian cup with Parma. I had never won anything before so it was beautiful,” he explained in an interview with Italian football magazine Calcio2000.

“So was the last trophy I won which came with Inter. In the middle of them there was the Scudetto with Lazio. They are three trophies that I will never forget.”
