Andrea Pinamonti: “I Dream Of Asserting Myself At A Great Club & I’ll Never Forget My Inter Debut”

Andrea Pinamonti has revealed he has his sights set on cementing his place at a top club in an interview with Italian based newspaper L’Adige.

The highly rated Italian youth national team striker is currently on the books of Serie A club Genoa but is due to return to Inter in the upcoming Summer transfer window due to there being a gentleman’s agreement between the clubs for Inter to buy him back.

“I have a lot of dream. The first is to assert myself at a great club, the second is to win important trophies and finally, but equally important, to be part of the Italian national team,” he explained.

The 20-year-old forward then revealed that he has always idolised former Inter and current AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“My idol has always been Ibrahimovic, I grew up watching his videos. Then after my arrival at Inter, training with Icardi, I learned a lot from him too.”

He also went on to speak about the brief experience that he has had with the Inter first team.

“I have to thank Roberto Samaden for my Inter career. I won many trophies and scored a lot of goals in Inter’s academy. My debut at San Siro was really exciting and I will never forget it.”

This season Pinamonti has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and provided three assists for his Rossoblu teammates.

Reports in the media as of late have suggested that Pinamonti’s return to Inter could be short lived with them suggesting that Inter could use him as part of a deal for another player.

Italian Sports Minister Spadafora: “At Least 1 More Week Needed To Decide If Serie A Season Can Resume”

Italian government minister for sport and youth policies Vincenzo Spadafora has revealed that entire teams will be forced into quarantine if one player is to test positive for Coronavirus when team training resumes.

The Italian government have given the green light for teams to start training as a team again starting next Monday, which will be two weeks since players were able to train on an optional individual basis.

“The scientific committee asks for changes linked to the FIGC protocol: for example, to ensure that if a positive case should emerge during training, all the players and coaching staff remain in quarantine without any external contacts or that club doctors are responsible for implementation of the protocol,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Rai 1 earlier on today.

“It also asks that molecular tests are at the expense of clubs and not the public: if the FIGC accepts these things, team training can start again.”

He was then asked when the 2019/20 campaign could resume if at all.

“When will the season be able to resume? The line of prudence is the right one. It’ll take at least another week to understand the contagion curve and then make a decision on the campaign.

“All team training will start again on May 18 and I’ll present the document tomorrow to ensure that all sports complexes safely reopen, starting with gyms, by the end of May.”

The season has now been on hold for over two months and it remains to be seen as to whether Serie A will follow in the footsteps of the German Bundesliga by restarting.

Reports in the media have speculated about potential return dates for a good few weeks now as well as ways the remainder of the season could possibly be played out in the event that it cannot be carried out as would have been typically the case.

Italian Government Give Green Light For Team Training To Resume Next Week

The Italian government have given the green light for group training to resume from May 18 but there will be necessary adjustments made due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis according to a report from Italian news agency ANSA.

Athletes, including footballers, were able to return to training on an optional individual basis on Monday May 4 and are now within a week of being able to train alongside their teammates again.

The report goes on to explain that in the event that a player is to test positive for Coronavirus, then the entire squad will be forced into a two week quarantine period. It will then be at the discretion of the club doctor to decide when it is safe for group training to resume again.

It does however remain to be seen if the 2019/20 campaign will even resume and if it does, what will happen if a player then goes on to test positive.

Inter Legend Cambiasso: “Godin Hasn’t Made Any Serious Mistakes, He’s Accepted Everything Conte Asked Him To Do”

Legendary Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has come to the defence of Inter defender Diego Godin, who has come in for some criticism in recent weeks and months.

Godin joined Inter on a free transfer on a three year contract this past Summer after his contract expired with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid but has come in for criticism throughout his first season in Nerazzurri.

Cambiasso, who spent a decade on Inter’s books between 2004 and 2014, however believes that the criticism that the veteran Uruguayan centre back has been subjected to is unjust and dismissed the idea that Godin has failed to adapt to his new surroundings this term.

“Godin had the humility to try to do the best he could with what Conte asked him to do at Inter. In the three man defence he is not at ease, but often ends up doing well when playing at the centre of it,” The Argentine remarked in an interview with Spanish news outlet AS.

“He has made no serious mistake during the season and ends up going unnoticed in all games. There is no negative data to say that he has not adapted. He had the humility to accept everything that Conte asked him to do.”

This season Godin has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 1900 minutes on the park he has assisted one goal and helped Inter to keep seven clean sheets in the process.

Italian Media Claims Inter In Pole Position To Sign Chelsea Target Dries Mertens On A Free Transfer From Napoli

Inter are in pole position to land Dries Mertens should he not sign a contract extension with Napoli according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The Belgian national team attacker’s current contract with Napoli is due to expire at the end of the season and due to this Inter have extended a contract offer to him.

Inter have offered him a two year deal with an option of a third year with an annual salary of €5 million plus bonuses, which is the best offer Mertens has received from anyone, including Napoli.

The report goes on to add that Mertens is torn with what to do with his future especially given Inter’s rich offer and the possibility of being able to possibly win the Serie A title with the Nerazzurri club.

This season Mertens has made 29 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 12 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.

Ex-Genoa Director Capozucca: “I Think Pinamonti Will Return To Inter & Then Go Somewhere Else”

Former Genoa sporting director Stefano Capozucca has shared his belief that Andrea Pinamonti will return to Inter this Summer and then be moved on again.

Pinamonti joined the Rossoblu club on a season long loan with an obligation to buy for €18 million this past Summer but as part of the deal there is a gentleman’s agreement between the clubs for Inter to bring back the highly promising forward in the coming months.

“I really believe in him, I saw him for a year in Frosinone and then I know him from his time here,” Capozucca, who left Genoa last December, explained in an interview with Italian news outlet PianetaGenoa1893.net.

“I remember that Muzzi told me that he is a boy who can do it all, then when the first criticisms came he crumbled under the weight of the responsibilities. I think he’ll go back to Inter and go somewhere else.”

Reports in the media have suggested that Inter could well use Pinamonti as part of a deal for another player. It has been suggested that Inter could use him to get to Brescia’s Sandro Tonali, Torino’s Armando Izzo or Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa.

This season Pinamonti has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date. In just shy of 1600 minutes on the field, the 20-year-old has scored four goals and has provided four assists for his Rossoblu teammates too.

Inter Legend Beppe Bergomi: “Conte Needs To Change Formation To Get Best Out Of Christian Eriksen”

Legendary Inter defender and former club captain Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has shared his belief that Christian Eriksen can be an important player for Inter.

Eriksen joined the Nerazzurri club on a four and a half year deal in a circa €20 million deal from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the most recent January transfer window but did not exactly live up to expectations in the games he managed to play before football was brought to an abrupt halt due to the Coronavirus crisis.

Despite his early struggles in the Nerazzurri, Bergomi believes that with a change of tactical system, the 28-year-old Danish international could be a big player for Antonio Conte’s side.

“In order to put him in the conditions to express himself best, a change of system is needed but I do not think Conte will do it initially,” Bergomi remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia during the ‘Sky Calcio Club’ show earlier on today.

“Everyone has now recovered and Inter have a lot of depth in the midfield. Conte can alternate between players and at that point Eriksen can find space.

“Conte’s team found it difficult when they lacked the competitive fury and at that point quality is needed and Eriksen can be important.”

Since his arrival at the club, former Ajax midfielder Eriksen has made eight appearances across all competitions to date in which he scored a single goal and also provided a single assist for his new teammates too.

Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala: “I Like Inter & AC Milan’s New Stadium Proposals”

Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala has revealed that he likes the look of the newly shared revised new stadium projects put forward by Inter and AC Milan.

Last week the two clubs published renderings of revised plans which saw parts of their current San Siro stadium incorporated for the first time after the Milan city council said they were reluctant to let all of San Siro be demolished as part of the new stadium project, which is expected to cost in excess of €1.2 billion.

The new plans from the Populous and Manica/Sportium groups have been receieved well online with fans around the globe debating over which project they prefer.

“I like the new proposals from Manica and Populous. My rigidity has always been only on two elements. The first, on the desire not to lose the Meazza. The second, on the desire to limit new buildings. The new project saves the old stadium, which will host many other minor sports and for the most part be free,” he is quoted as saying by Italian news outlet Calcioefinanza.it.

Sala then went on to share that he hopes an agreement can be reached between the clubs and the Milan city council with regard to the volume of extras being built as part of the project such as hotels, shops and restaurants.

“The demand for the volumes is still high, but I hope that a good agreement can be found so that the project is successful.”

Massimo Moratti: “Good If Inter Could Hold On To Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez”

Former Inter president and owner has revealed he does not know what the secret behind Inter’s 2009/10 treble winning season was as part of an interview with Italian television programme Domenica Sportiva, late last night.

“I don’t know, otherwise we would have repeated it. I think it was because we all believed and I myself was convinced that success would come sooner or later,” he began the interview.

He was then asked about the respective futures of Inter strikers Lautaro Martinez and Mauro Icardi.

“I think it would be good if Inter could hold on to Lautaro because he has great potential and there is great curiosity to see how he develops and what he will become. He has great talent but I do not know how easy it will be to keep him if the interest from big clubsis true.

“As far as Icardi is concerned, I imagine everything is finished for him at Inter. It comes down to PSG who will decide whether to keep him or sign him then swap him because he is a great player.”

He then went on to rule out the possibility of returning to Inter in some capacity, something that he has been linked with doing several times since departing the club.

“No I do not think about it and I do not have the intention of doing so.”

Next Moratti was asked what he thinks the current Inter side are missing compared to that of the treble winning side.

“The current side is very different to that one but I think it is still a good team. The attack is excellent if Lautaro remains, the defence is excellent and the midfield is good too.”

He then praised Inter for the way they have went about handling the Coronavirus crisis.

“Inter have done very well with regards to Coronavirus. They were the first team to stop their Primavera side playing and protected the first team players from this situation.”

In conclusion Moratti admitted that he was surprised that Juventus defender and captain Giorgio Chiellini blasted former Inter player Mario Balotelli in the way that he recently did.

“I was sad, because I liked Chiellini and I know he’s an intelligent and good lad. The idea of him venting out, I didn’t expect. I’m sorry for a good boy like Balotelli, who is always treated this way.”
