Inter Keen On Bayern Munich’s David Alaba But Signing Him Will Be Complicated

Inter remain interested in signing David Alaba but signing him from Bayern Munich will be particularly complicated according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

It will be particularly complicated for Inter to sign the Austrian national team defender due to the fact all top clubs are in for him.

The 28-year-old, whose contract is due to expire at the end of next season, has drawn links to the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona among many other sides in recent weeks.

Alaba is not the only player who Inter are courting as they look to bolster their options at left wing back with many reports stating Inter are focusing on Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri due to the fact a deal for him is more feasible.

Reports have suggested Inter could land Emerson for somewhere in the region of €25-30 million and his wages are a good bit less than what Alaba would demand.

How Romelu Lukaku’s Transfer To Inter From Man Utd Has Seemingly Benefited All Parties

On July 5th 2020, Romelu Lukaku became just the fourth Inter player to score 20 goals during his first season at the club. It is a remarkable achievement, and as the statistics from Opta confirm, he goes into the history books, following in the footsteps of Ronaldo, Stefano Nyers and Giuseppe Meazza. With eight games still left to play, he could yet add to his already impressive total.

Back in August 2019, the powerful striker swapped the Premier League for Serie A, signing a five-year contract with the Nerrazzuri. The Belgian had also been linked with a move to Juventus prior to arriving at the San Siro, and after enduring a frustrating couple of years at Old Trafford, the move signified a fresh start for the prolific frontman. He’s certainly enjoyed working under Antonio Conte this season and we take a look at how this record-breaking transfer has seemingly benefited both clubs, as well as the player himself.

How The Deal Benefited Inter

Prior to Lukaku’s arrival in northern Italy, Inter had relied heavily on irascible forward Mauro Icardi. Despite the Argentine marksman’s ability to score important goals, his time at the club had been marred by a series of controversial incidents which had infuriated large swathes of the club’s fan-base.

During the 2018-19 campaign, Icardi’s influence had dwindled, and with just eleven goals to his name, his days appeared to be numbered. The Rosario-born man had finished as the club’s top goal-scorer for five consecutive seasons and they needed to move quickly in order to replace the want-away star. He joined PSG on a one-year loan deal, and looks set to sign for the French champions on a permanent basis this summer.

Whilst Lukaku is a player who does tend to divide fans, and has already endured one or two regrettable moments since joining the club, he is far less unpredictable than his predecessor, and can be relied upon to do his job on the pitch.

His goals have helped the Serie A heavyweights keep in touch with the Bianconeri this season, and as of July 6th, they remain 40/1 outsiders for the title with Betway. Despite this, they still look highly likely to improve upon last year’s underwhelming fourth place finish.

How The Deal Benefited Manchester United

Despite plundering 28 goals in 66 appearances for the Red Devils, the former Anderlecht man rarely looked comfortable playing at Old Trafford. Although he has been quick to praise former boss Jose Mourinho, the Portuguese tactician struggled to get the best out of the muscular frontman, whilst his successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opted for a style which didn’t play to Lukaku’s strengths.

This season, the Norwegian has used Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood to devastating effect, with the energetic trio willing to track back and run the channels. The Belgian struggled with the out-of-possession aspects of the game, and as a result, often found himself drifting away from key areas. In order to succeed, he requires adequate service on a regular basis, and tends to prefer to link up with a playmaker. This simply didn’t fit in with coaching staff’s plans.

Since Lukaku’s departure, other strikers at the club have been able to enjoy an increased number of minutes on the field, and this will surely benefit the club’s long-term future. Having gone 16 games unbeaten, the club is certainly on an upward trajectory and although it may sound counter-intuitive, the sale of the former Chelsea man has almost certainly contributed.

How The Deal Benefited The Player

Lukaku has spoken of how he has matured as a player since arriving at the San Siro, and although he recognises that some areas of his game still need to improve, he does credit Antonio Conte with helping his development. He is clearly happy playing in the current system, and although he hasn’t escaped criticism from the current gaffer, he admits that the former Italy coach knows how to get the best out of his players.

Although Serie A players are still subject to scrutiny from fans and pundits alike, his move to Italy has enabled him to step ever-so-slightly out of the spotlight. At Manchester United, his every touch was critiqued by the media, and despite one or two of his performances for the Nerrazzuri attracting condemnation, the move will surely have relieved some of the pressure that comes with pulling on the number nine shirt at Old Trafford.

Lukaku is clearly flourishing in his new role at Inter, and although he was far from an inexpensive purchase, all parties now appear to be reaping the rewards. He is likely to go from strength-to-strength working under Conte, and the pair will surely enjoy plenty more success over the next couple of seasons.

Inter & AC Milan Could Still Complete A Matias Vecino & Franck Kessie Swap

Inter and AC Milan could do a swap deal involving Franck Kessie according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

Inter have seemingly reignited their previous interest in the Ivorian central midfielder and could offer Matias Vecino to their city rivals in exchange.

This is not the first time that the two clubs have tried a swap deal involving former Atalanta player Kessie with them also attempting to do a swap deal back in the most recent January transfer window with Inter offering Roberto Gagliardini back then.

The 23-year-old is one of several midfielders Inter have been linked to ahead of the upcoming transfer window with others being the likes of Sandro Tonali, Arturo Vidal and N’Golo Kante.

Kessie has been with the Rossoneri since the Summer of 2017 and he has a contract with them until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

The former Cesena player has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored two goals and provided as many assists.

Fiorentina Interested In Inter’s Radja Nainggolan & Could Fund Move By Selling Erick Pulgar

Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan is one of two midfielders on Fiorentina’s radar ahead of the upcoming transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper La Nazione.

The Belgian is currently out on loan at Cagliari and the report explains that there is no possibility that the former Roma player could be swapped for Federico Chiesa.

The only way that Fiorentina could sign Nainggolan is by making a cash offer to Inter and in order to finance the move, they could sell Erick Pulgar.

This season Nainggolan, who has a contract with Inter until 2022, has made 27 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored six goals and provided seven assists.

The report from the Florence based news outlet goes on to explain that in addition to Nainggolan, AC Milan’s Giacomo Bonaventura is on Fiorentina’s radar and they face competition from Torino and Roma for him.

French Media Report Inter Linked Arsenal Midfielder Guendouzi’s Agents In Advanced Talks With Barcelona

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi’s representatives are in advanced talks with Barcelona according to a report in today’s print edition of French news outlet L’Equipe.

The Frenchman appears set to leave the Premier League side in the coming months having fallen out with manager Mikel Arteta.

Guendouzi has not featured in a matchday squad since June 20 and it is understood that Arsenal would like €36 million for him but would be open to a loan agreement. They are however unwilling to enter into negotiations involving him until the end of the season.

The report adds that both Inter and Atletico Madrid have an interest in signing the former FC Lorient player but stresses that the most concrete talks with his representatives have come with Spanish powerhouses Barcelona.

The report concludes that Guendouzi will decide his future at the end of the season and does not just want to move to any club. He wants to move to a club that will allow him the best chance to express himself in a bid to make France’s squad for the European Championship’s.

Italian Media Report Inter “Unconcerned” By AC Milan’s Reported Interest In Sandro Tonali & Preparing Offer

Inter are not concerned by news that AC Milan have sparked an interest in signing Sandro Tonali according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

Reports have emerged that AC Milan are interested in signing the highly rated Italian national team midfielder from Brescia but Inter feel confident about their chances of wrapping up a deal for Tonali, especially given the agreement they have reached with the player and his agent Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Riso.

The report goes on to explain that Inter are preparing to make a bid in the region of €30-35 million for the 20-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Juventus among several other clubs.

Tonali is widely regarded as one of the best up and coming Italian talents out there at the moment and in 28 appearances this term he has scored one goal and provided six assists for his teammates.

Inter Focusing On Signing Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri As Bayern’s David Alaba Unfeasible

Signing Bayern Munich’s David Alaba is more complex and not as feasible for Inter as signing Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Libero.

Inter have drawn links to the Austrian national team defender as they look to bolster their options at left wing back, which is one of their top priorities for the upcoming transfer window.

Alaba’s contract with the German champions is due to expire at the end of the season but signing him will be far from easy whereas signing Emerson would be much easier for the Nerazzurri club.

The report goes on to explain that the naturalised Italian wing back will be allowed to leave Chelsea for a sum in the region of €25 million.

Inter’s arch rivals Juventus are also keen on signing the 25-year-old and they also have an interest in Chelsea’s Jorginho and could therefore attempt a double deal.

Italian Media Claims Antonio Conte Wants Inter To Sign Roma’s Dzeko Over Mandzukic & Chelsea’s Giroud

Inter manager Antonio Conte really wants Roma captain Edin Dzeko to be signed to bolster the options he has for the attack according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

Conte has long had the idea of playing a tandem of Romelu Lukaku and Dzeko in the attack and having failed to get him last Summer, Conte wants him in the upcoming transfer window.

Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud and newly released Mario Mandzukic do not convince Conte due to him not feeling that their player match the profile of striker that he is looking to have in his team.

It seems far more likely that Inter will manage to get a deal done for Dzeko, due largely in part to the fact that Roma no longer seem willing to have the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player’s wages on their books.

This season former Manchester City forward Dzeko has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists for his teammates.
