Ex-Inter Player Nicola Ventola: “Lautaro Martinez Can Become The King Of San Siro, If I Were Him I’d Stay Another Year”

Former Inter striker Nicola Ventola has revealed what he would do if he found himself in the shoes of Lautaro Martinez at the moment.

Lautaro is continuously being linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona in the upcoming Summer transfer window and he has also drawn links to Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid too.

The highly rated 22-year-old has a €111 million release clause as part of his current contract with Inter, a contract which runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.

“He knows he can become the king of San Siro. He has the chance to play with Lionel Messi but if I were him I would stay another year even though the temptation to go to Barcelona is strong,” Ventola remarked in an interview with Italian television programme Top Calcio 24.

The former Atalanta and Torino forward also shared his opinion on the current Inter side and claimed that he was expecting Inter to do as well as they have done this term.

“Knowing Conte, I expected a start like this, with Lautaro who exploded and Romelu Lukaku who immediately made his mark.

“Many have criticised Conte but I was enjoying this Inter up until the stop. It is obvious though that the squad is not yet at the level of Juventus but I think it will be expanded and improved in the coming seasons.”

Ventola had two spells with Inter which totalled six years. The now 41-year-old made just 64 appearances for the club across all competitions due to all the top attacking talent that Inter had in their ranks whilst he was with the club.

Despite finding playing time limited, Ventola still managed to score a more than respectable 21 goals for the Nerazzurri.

Vanheusden’s Agent: “He’d Never Have Left Inter To Return To Belgium If He Hadn’t Gotten Injured”

Zinho Vanheusden’s agent Gunter Thiebaut has revealed that his client would have never left Inter had he not picked up a serious injury.

Whilst in Inter’s youth ranks the highly rated Belgian youth national team player injured his cruciate ligament whilst representing the club in the UEFA Youth League against Dynamo Kyiv back in September 2017.

Vanheusden was sidelined for four months as a result and upon his return he signed a new long term deal with the club before being loaned out to Standard Liege.

At the end of the 2017/18 season his loan was extended by a further season and this past Summer the Belgian Pro League side turned his stay with the club into a permanent one for a club record fee of €12.5 million.

Multiple reports have stated that Inter have a buy back option on the 20-year-old central defender and that he could be brought back to the club this coming Summer.

“Zinho was considered one of the most promising defenders and without the cruciate ligament injury he would never have returned to Belgium, because the plan was to give him a chance in the Inter first team as soon as possible,” he told Belgian news outlet VoetbalNiuews.

Inter, AC Milan & Roma Among Host Of Serie A Clubs Interested In Polish Sensation Aleksander Buksa

Inter are one of several Serie A clubs interested in signing highly rated Polish youngster Aleksander Buksa according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The 17-year-old forward is currently on the books of Polish Eksrtaklasa side Wisla Krakow and he has caught the attention of several clubs with his performances this term.

Aside from Inter, the report states that Atalanta, AC Milan, Sassuolo and Roma are all also interested in Buksa, who was the first player born in the 21st century to score in the Ekstraklasa.

Having only turned 17-years-old this past January, Buksa is still a good few months away from being eligible to sign professional terms with Wisla Krakow meaning if clubs move for him this Summer they could get away with only paying a compensation fee, exactly how FC Zurich sign Wilfriend Gnonto from Inter.

This season Buksa has made 14 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals.

Inter Management Considering Reintegrating Radja Nainggolan Back Into Squad

Inter management are considering the possibility of reintegrating Radja Nainggolan into the team according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

Nainggolan is currently out on loan at Inter’s fellow Serie A club Cagliari but it is highly unlikely that they pursue a permanent transfer for him meaning he will return to Inter this Summer.

Many reports have stated that Inter would look to move the Belgian on but this report claims that after his performances this season for the Rossoblu there is a possibility that he could be reinstated, a year on from being told he was no longer part of the club’s project.

Inter manager Antonio Conte has always been a big fan of the former Roma player and the report states that the former Italian national team manager would welcome him back to the team with open arms.

Whilst out on loan at Cagliari, 32-year-old Nainggolan has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored five goals and provided six assists for his teammates.

Inter Youngster Persyn’s Agent: “Tibo Is Happy With Inter & Inter Is Happy With Tibo”

Tibo Persyn’s agent Gunter Thiebaut has stressed that his client is happy at Inter but has revealed there is still no agreement over a contract extension contrary to reports doing the rounds.

Reports in the media as of late have suggested that Inter are ready to give the highly rated Belgian midfielder a three year contract, which will be his first professional deal with the club, who he joined back in 2018 from Club Brugge.

“Tibo is happy and is growing well. He has exploded in recent years, so much so that several clubs have started to enquire about him. Today it is still like that, but Tibo is happy with Inter and Inter is happy with Tibo,” he told Voetbalnieuws.

“There has been some misreporting. The talks are still ongoing but we are open to an extension and Inter would like to keep him. We will have no problems to find an agreement. Now it is more difficult to negotiate in this situation, but both sides are enthusiastic.”

Thiebaut was then asked if he has had any sort of conversation with Inter first team manager Antonio Conte regarding his client, who turned 18-years-old back in March.

“I have not talked to him yet, I only know that Inter are satisfied with Tibo. We have not discussed the opportunity for the player to make the jump to the first team.

“We are in no hurry and we do not make requests. Inter remains a great team. We know that the club believes in him and vice versa. Tibo is already developing well, so Inter is doing excellent work.”

He then went on to discuss comparisons that have been made between his client and Paris Saint Germain and Belgian national team defender Thomas Meunier.

“He is strong and fast and is a bit like Meunier but he is more like Thomas Foket.”

Persyn, who is part of Inter’s Primavera side, has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date this term in which he has scored two goals and provided four assists for his teammates.

Italian Sports Minister Spadafora: “I Don’t Want To Make A Prediction When The Serie A Can Resume”

Italian government minister for sport and youth policies Vincenzo Spadafora has refused to be drawn into making a prediction for when the 2019/20 season could resume.

The 2019/20 Serie A season has been on hold for just shy of two months now as have all other sports competitions in the country as a result of the ongoing global Coronavirus pandemic.

Athletes, including footballers, were allowed to resume training from the beginning of this week, with many players of clubs making the most of their clubs facilities already but not all clubs players have returned yet with Inter one of those clubs.

Reports have stated that group training will be allowed to resume from May 18 but it remains to be seen when the season could resume, if at all.

“I do not want to make a prediction, we must be careful and hope that from now until May 18th the data on the infection will be positive, so we can reopen slowly,” Spadafora explained to Italian news agency ANSA earlier on today.

He was then asked about whether games will be played behind closed doors when the season resumes: “This will be 100% the case.”
