Beginners Guide To Placing Your First Football Bet

Betting on sports is hugely popular all over the world. Of the sports that we place wagers on, football is the most popular which probably comes as no surprise.

With so many leagues scattered all over the world and the bookmakers offering such a fantastic service by covering many of them, the choice out there is almost unlimited.

Whether it is something huge such as the German Bundesliga, or a smaller league such as the Japanese J-League, you will find betting markets.

Each year a new wave of football fans turn to betting on the sport to try and bring additional fun to the game.
As you begin betting, it is important not to let yourself get too carried away, searching for the big win early as this is an easy way to become disheartened.

Instead, a sensible approach is required and for those looking, here is a beginners guide to placing your first football bet.

Choose A League And Stick To It

This is important and even more so now because of the size of the football service on offer. If you want to make money from football betting, it is important you are an expert on the league you bet on.

This means keeping up to date with all the latest news, watching games and making sure you don’t miss a thing.
It is an almost impossible task to do this for more than one league. This is why, especially when starting off, you should choose one league, have that as your betting league and try to specialise in it.

For example, if you choose Serie A as your league and Inter as your favorite team, this should be one you watch, one you enjoy and perhaps most importantly, one that you can easily check out the latest news on Inter.

When you know what you want to bet on in terms of the league, it is time to find a bookmaker to place those bets with.

Find The Right Bookmaker For You

Don’t listen to your friends when it comes to choosing a bookmaker. Each one offers a different service and what is good for one person may not be good for another.

Look for reviews on the internet and how bookmakers rank against each other, this is always a great place to start.
Sites such as freebets.uk offer a service that reviews and compares the different bookmakers available to punters. While you may not always go with their number one choice, you can use these as a starting point.

From here you can expand to look at what each bookmaker has on offer specifically for you. How do they cover the league you are going to bet on, do they have an app, do they offer a good welcome bonus. These are all things you should be asking yourself.

Start By Placing Simple Bets

It is easy for a punter to be drawn in by complicated betting markets that offer huge wins, or big accumulators featuring multiple teams and a five figure pay out.

This is exactly what you need to avoid. You need to feel two things at the start of your football betting experience, the feeling of winning and seeing your hard work be rewarded as you get results correct.

You may have a great weekend studying, find numerous winners, but end up with no returns because you had an eight team accumulator and only seven of the teams won.

Avoid this, make sure you get a return for your hard work and try to keep things simple in the early stages.

There is a time and a place to be trying out more extravagant bets, but while you are learning, this is definitely not the time.

Inter Line Up Leipzig’s Werner & Arsenal’s Aubameyang As Replacements For €111M Rated Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez

A report from Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb has examined Inter’s current situation in regard to the upcoming summer transfer window earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have no interest in giving Barcelona a discount on Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez and want a deal worth €111 million for the player. The Blaugrana are still considering what they’ll offer for the Nerazzurri for Lautaro, with many players potentially set to be included in the deal, like Arturo Vidal, Junior Firpo or Nélson Semedo.

The Nerazzurri are looking for a replacement for Lautaro, the report continues, with two players being the most exciting at the moment. The first is RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, who is valued at around €60 million and is also wanted by many top clubs around Europe, like Liverpool. Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is being considered as well, but the Gunners want €50 million for his signature.

Radja Nainggolan is likely to return to Inter from Cagliari, the report highlights, with Fiorentina interested in the player. Bayern Munich are likely to activate Ivan Perisic’s buy option, giving Inter around €20 million.

Finally, both Inter and Juventus are interested in signing Fiorentina talisman Federico Chiesa, the report adds, but the deal for the Italian forward would be expensive. Viola president Rocco Commisso will leave the choice up to Chiesa, and considering the great relationship with president and player, the Italian could decide to renew his contract with the Florence based club.

Inter Join Man Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea In Race To Sign Barcelona Defender Samuel Umtiti

Inter are one of the many clubs interested in signing Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The report details how several clubs have already asked for information regarding the 26-year-old Frenchman, who is contracted to the club until 2023.

The 2018 World Cup winner has only made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1209 minutes. The Blaugrana haven’t transfer listed him, but in the face of the many interested clubs, may consider selling him.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter and Napoli are the clubs interested in signing Umtiti, the report continues. Barcelona inserted a €500 million release in the 26-year-old’s contract in the last renewal, but are now willing to consider a hugely lower fee.

They may also try to include Umtiti in the deal for Inter forward Lautaro Martinez, as the Nerazzurri want €90 million for the 22-year-old, as well as one or two players in exchange.

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Biasin: “Federico Chiesa Is More Likely To Join Inter Than Juventus”

Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin discussed Inter’s position in the upcoming summer transfer window in an interview with Italian media outlet Le Bombe di Vlad yesterday.

First, he spoke about the future of Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez and if he’ll join Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer.

“I don’t think Barcelona is in a position to go crazy. It is also in Inter’s interest to keep him as long as possible in order to make him grow economically.”

Biasin then discussed Inter and Juventus target Federico Chiesa, who seems destined to leave Fiorentina in the next few months.

“He was the right player for Sarri last year, but now they have changed the system a bit in Turin. Although difficult to place him in Conte’s line-up, I say it’s more likely he’ll join Inter than Juve, just because Marotta has liked him for some time.”

The journalist touched on the current position of Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, who is currently on loan with French side Paris Saint Germain.

“I think he’ll stay at PSG, even though he’s the profile the Bianconeri consider ideal. Just like Perisic and Nainggolan, who wants to stay in Cagliari, he won’t come back.”

He discussed Inter linked forward Edison Cavani, whose contract is expiring with PSG at the end of the season.

“His agent is doing a bit of a tour of the top clubs, but he’s a player of a certain age and with a certain salary.”

Finally, Biasin spoke about Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen, who has struggled to shine since his arrival in Milan in January.

“We’re talking about a great footballer. His problem was joining in the middle of the season, but I think he will be a starting player in the future.”

Inter are hoping to keen Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez, who has long been the target of Barcelona. The Nerazzurri want €90 million in cash plus one or two players in exchange for the 22-year-old, a high request, which they hope will scare off the Catalan club.

Italian Report Claims Inter & Barcelona Discussing Antoine Griezmann But A Deal Is Unlikely

Inter and Barcelona have discussed French forward Antoine Griezmann over the last few weeks but it’s unlikely that the former Atletico Madrid man will join the Nerazzurri, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

The report details how the Blaugrana are willing to do whatever possible to sign Inter forward Lautaro Martinez, and have offered multiple players to the Nerazzurri in exchange for the Argentine forward. The Griezmann idea was discussed, but there are several obstacles that make a deal seem impossible.

The first is that the 29-year-old Frenchman told Barcelona in February that he wants to stay with the club. Another issue are his high wages, impossible to pay unless Griezmann takes a significant salary cut.

Inter coach Antonio Conte has been constantly updated by those involved in the negotiations and will have the final say before any decision is made, both the sale of Lautaro and which players would be included.

Lautaro Martinez Has Decided To Join Barcelona & Won’t Sign A Contract Renewal With Inter

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has decided to join Barcelona and won’t sign a contract renewal, but the Nerazzurri won’t let him leave cheap, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has chosen to accept Barcelona’s offer and wants to join the Catalan club in the summer.

He has refused to sign a contract renewal and understands the seriousness of Barcelona’s interest. An agreement between the two parties hasn’t been reached yet but talks are well underway.

Inter have a plan, the report continues, as they don’t want to lose Lautaro for cheap, despite the current financial climate.

The Milanese club know that it would be tough to convince the Argentine forward to stay considering Barcelona’s high contract offer and the possibility of playing with Lionel Messi, and so instead will sell him for €90 million in cash plus one or two players in exchange.

Inter Target Timo Werner: “I’d Rather Go Abroad Than Join Bayern Munich”

Inter target Timo Werner discussed the possibility of joining Bayern Munich and his dreams of playing abroad in an interview in today’s paper edition of the German newspaper Sport Bild.

“I’d rather go abroad than move to Bavaria. I would like to take on a new challenge in another league more than a change within the Bundesliga. And, of course, it will also be important that there is maximum appreciation for me. That’s why I decided to go to RB Leipzig at the time and that’s why for my next step I’ll choose that square where I’ll feel the same way.”

Inter are one of the many top clubs around Europe interested in the 24-year-old German striker, alongside sides like Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Werner has made 36 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2832 minutes. In that time, he has scored 27 goals and provided 12 assists, becoming one of the top strikers in the Bundesliga.

The Nerazzurri are considering many replacements for Argentine star Lautaro Martinez, who has long been wanted by Spanish giants Barcelona, who believe he would be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez.

Due to the seriousness of the Blaugrana’s interest, Inter know they need to line up the perfect replacement, in order to fight for next season’s league title.

RB Leipzig Sporting Director: “Won’t Sell Inter Target Timo Werner For Less Than His Market Value”

RB Leipzig sporting director Oliver Mintzlaff discussed the potential restart of the Bundesliga season and the upcoming summer transfer window in an interview with German broadcaster Sport 1 yesterday evening.

First, he spoke about the importance of TV revenue to German clubs.

“This is about the survival of the Bundesliga as we know it. That’s why we need to play the remaining matches, to get the TV money to survive. That’s why we want and should play football again.”

Mintzlaff spoke about how the club are looking to sell multiple players before investing in the squad.

“We should sell before we buy. But I think we can make few sales and above all we don’t want to sell our players below market value. We have a good team. If we can’t play, we absolutely can’t consider new transfers, that would be the biggest disadvantage.”

Finally, Mintzlaff discussed Inter target Timo Werner, who seems destined to leave the German club in the summer.

“With this crisis of Covid-19, we currently have other problems, we are more concerned about contracts. We know the terms of our players’ contracts and I know them very well, especially those of our best players. We’re not happy with them leaving the team for free. That’s the case with Timo Werner and it will be the same for Dayot Upamecano. I have the economic aspects in mind.”

Inter are looking to sign the 24-year-old German striker in the upcoming summer transfer window, should they sell Argentine star Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona.

Werner, who is contracted to RB Leipzig until 2023, is also wanted by other top clubs around Europe, with some reports suggesting that he is most close to signing for European champions Liverpool.

Werner has made 36 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2832 minutes. In that time, he has scored 27 goals and provided 12 assists, impressing many as one of the top strikers in the Bundesliga.

Philippe Senderos On Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka: “If Inter Were To Sign Him They’d Be Making A Great Purchase”

Former Arsenal and Swiss national team Philippe Senderos defender has advised Inter that they would be making a great signing if they are to sign countryman Granit Xhaka in the upcoming Summer transfer window.

Inter drew links to the former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder near the end of last year and at the start of this year and in an Instagram Live chat with Italian transfer market expert Nicolo Schira, Senderos was full of praise for his compatriot.

“He is a great player and very important for the Swiss national team and Arsenal. Inter? I have heard the rumours and if they were to sign him they would be making a great purchase but I don’t know if he wants to leave Arsenal,” Senderos explained.

27-year-old Xhaka has been with the north London based club since the Summer of 2016 and has a contract with the Gunners through to the end of the 2022/23 season.

Xhaka, who is primarily a defensive midfielder but also capable of playing as a central midfielder, has made 29 appearances across all competitions this term. In just shy of 2500 minutes on the field, the FC Basel academy graduate has provided a single assist for his teammates.
