Barcelona Forced To Give Up In Pursuit Of Inter’s Lautaro Martinez For Time Being

Barcelona have given up in their pursuit of signing Inter striker Lautaro Martinez according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

Lautaro’s €111 million release clause is due to expire after tomorrow and the Blaugrana club do not have the financial power to trigger his clause at the moment.

Whilst Barcelona have given up for now, the report stresses that it cannot be excluded that Barcelona make other moves to sign him later down the line but it will certainly be far harder to deal with Inter once the release clause has expired as Inter can then demand whatever they like for the 22-year-old Argentine.

Barcelona remain quite confident that they can eventually get a deal done for the former Racing Club player and know that Inter will need to soften their currently rock solid stance on the matter but Inter have a different view.

Inter are not interested in acquiring Junior Firpo as part of a deal, contrary to what reports elsewhere say in the media due to the fact they are trying to sign Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea.

The report adds that Lautaro has never asked to leave Inter nor openly expressed a desire to leave to join the Blaugrana club. Inter consider him as being central to the club’s ongoing project and have no doubts about his professionalism amid ongoing links.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta: “Antonio Conte Is Very Angry, We Don’t Want To Sell Lautaro Martinez”

Inter chief executive officer Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has admitted there is a feel of real bitterness following the disappointing 2-1 loss to Bologna at San Siro yesterday evening.

Inter took the lead through Romelu Lukaku and dominated the match for the most part but were made to pay for their inability to take their chances as Bologna scored twice late on to secure all three points at Inter’s expense.

“There remains great bitterness and disappointment for not having obtained the three points in light of an excellent performance in parts of the match,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia a short time ago.

“Unfortunately what happened happened so as a result we are disappointed. We all spoke together with Conte to take a look at things and express our bitterness and disappointment at the match that was within our reach.”

He was then asked how Inter manager Antonio Conte took the result and whether or not he is already thinking about Inter’s next match which comes against Hellas Verona on Thursday.

“Conte has already started thinking about Thursday. He is very angry, but his criticism helps to understand a character and a man who wants to get much more from himself and from the team.

“The match against Hellas Verona is an interlocutory stage of a journey, but it comes at a time when we have to show that we understand the value of what we through away yesterday.

“In this extraordinary moment, the league and Europa League, that we will play in in August, and the transfer maket, unfortunately simultaneously co-exist.”

Marotta was then once again asked about Lautaro Martinez’s future with the club and reiterated that Inter want to keep a hold of the Argentine, who has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.

“Inter do not want to sell their most important players, we are talking about a 22-year-old boy who is in a period of his career where there are constant rumours that maybe affect him.

“We admired an excellent Lautaro in the first half of the season. Now he must regain the serenity that will allow him to have personal satisfaction and make his contribution to Inter like he did in the first part.”

Next he was asked whether he expected more from January transfer window recruit Christian Eriksen, who has only shown flashes of brilliance since his arrival.

“He arrived in January and has certainly had difficulty in an area of the team that is unfortunately suffering due to the unavailability of other players [due to injury].

“He is a great player and he is certainly someone who can give much more. We will wait for him and will do so calmly. There are eight games left of the season and we will have to give our best.”

In conclusion Marotta was asked if Inter have what it takes to go all the way and win the Europa League.

“We will definitely try yes, we don’t know what the form of the other teams will be like but we have to believe we can do it. We participate to win.”

Ex-Juventus & AC Milan Coach Max Allegri: “Lautaro Martinez Is Doing Very Well At Inter”

Former Juventus manager Massimiliano “Max” Allegri has sang the praises of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez amid continued links to Barcelona.

The highly rated 22-year-old forward has been heavily linked with a potential switch to Barcelona for some time now and many reports have suggested that the Argentine national team forward has already agreed personal terms with the Blaugrana club, who have so far been unable to come close to Inter’s demands.

Lautaro has a €111 million release clause in his current contract with Inter, which is set to expire just shortly, but Barcelona seem intent on doing a player plus cash deal for him instead.

“The Barcelona shirt weighs a lot and any player needs to have the strength and personality to wear it. Lautaro has all the qualities to succeed. He’s doing very well at Inter at the moment, but we’ll see if he can show that at the Camp Nou one day,” Allegri explained in an interview with Spanish news outlet Marca, which appeared on their online edition.

Lautaro joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Superliga Argentina side Racing Club back in the Summer of 2018. He has a contract with Inter until 2023.

This season he has made 37 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 17 goals and provided five assists for his teammates.

Italian Media Highlights Bologna’s First Goalscorer Yesterday Musa Juwara’s Failed Trial With Inter

Inter could have avoided being punished by Musa Juwara yesterday had they chosen to believe in him a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport highlights.

The Gambian youngster scored the first goal for Bologna at San Siro yesterday but things could have been so different for the young attacker.

Juwara arrived in Italy by boat back in 2016 and his first break came when he was signed by Potenza. Manager Vitantonio Somma helped him to fine tune his game and earn a move to Chievo Verona and his performances for the Gialloblu led to Bologna swooping for him last Summer.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that the 18-year-old had in fact had trials with Inter but the Nerazzurri decided against signing him. Inter were not the only big Italian side not to believe in his talent either with the report also stating he had an unsuccessful trial with Juventus too.

Italian Media Highlights How Antonio Conte Has Failed To Change Inter

Inter manager Antonio Conte has failed to change Inter this term with his side proving to just be the same as every other post-treble winning season side according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The former Italian national team manager was brought in to replace Luciano Spalletti in the hope that he could transform Inter’s post-treble winning fortunes but he has been unsuccessful in doing so.

Since Inter’s historic 2009/10 treble winning season under Jose Mourinho, Inter appear to have had a mental hurdle that they have been unable to get over.

In the years since the treble, each Inter side seem to collapse in crucial moments and always stumble towards the end of the season.

Conte has managed Inter in 41 matches across all competitions to date since taking over this past Summer. The former Juventus boss has won 24 of his games in charge.

Inter Management Intend To Satisfy Antonio Conte’s Demands In Upcoming Transfer Window

Inter management have every intention of satisfying the demands of manager Antonio Conte in the upcoming transfer window according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

Conte wants to win silverware next season and wants ready made players with a winning mentality brought to the club to help him do so.

Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal and Roma striker Edin Dzeko are both under consideration not just for their abilities as players but due to their respective charisma and personalities.

Conte is aware that a mix of both youth and experience will be required and for this reason he would also like highly rated Italian national team midfielder Sandro Tonali and 25-year-old Chelsea full back Emerson Palmieri brought to the club as well.

The report from Sport Mediaset goes on to explain that Inter’s dream signing is Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, whose contract with the German champions is due to expire next year.

UK Media Report Man Utd & Man City Interested In Signing Inter’s Milan Skriniar

Manchester United and Manchester City have a mutual interest in several central defenders including Inter’s Milan Skriniar according to a report from the online edition of British news outlet The Independent.

The Premier League duo are both looking to bolster their respective defensive departments in the upcoming transfer window and on top of Skriniar, they are both keen on signing Napoli’s Kaldiou Koulibaly too.

Whilst Koulibaly is Manchester City’s top target, The Independent explain that Inter would be open to doing a swap deal involving Skriniar and Sergio Aguero.

A swap deal with Inter involving Skriniar could be the more attractive option for the Etihad Stadium side, especially if their Champions League ban is upheld and they are forced to limit their spending.

As for Manchester United’s interest in Skriniar, it is understood that he is one of four they are considering with Swansea City’s Joe Rodon and RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano being the others.

Bayern Munich Coach Hansi Flick On Inter Linked David Alaba: “It’s His Decision & We Must Respect It”

Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick has admitted that David Alaba is in control of his own future and that the club will respect the decision that he comes to.

Alaba’s contract with the recently crowned German champions is due to expire at the end of next season and the first round of contract renewal talks have provided unsuccessful with it understood that the Austrian wants in excess of €15 million a year.

“They [Alaba and Thiago Alcantara] both know what I think of them. We will give them plenty of time to think about it,” Flick remarked in an interview with Bayern Munich’s official club broadcaster at an event celebrating their league and cup double this season.

“I will try to give them my support as a manager and as an adviser but in the end, it is the player who must make his decision and we must respect it. Everyone has their own plans for what they want to do in life.”

Inter To Face Hellas Verona Without Bastoni, D’Ambrosio, Skriniar, Barella & Sensi

Alessandro Bastoni and Danilo D’Ambrosio will both miss Inter’s upcoming Serie A clash with Hellas Verona due to suspension, sporting judge Gerardo Mastrandrea has confirmed today.

Bastoni was sent off in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Bologna following two yellow cards and will serve a one match suspension as a result.

D’Ambrosio meanwhile picked up a fifth yellow card and he too will have to serve a one match suspension as a result of this.

On top of Bastoni and D’Ambrosio, Inter will have to do without Milan Skriniar, who will be serving the final match of his suspension.

Moreover, Inter manager Antonio Conte will be unable to call upon either Nicolo Barella or Stefano Sensi, both of whom are currently dealing with injuries.

It remains to be seen whether on loan defender Victor Moses will make a return to action having missed the match with Bologna due to muscle fatigue in his thigh.
