Inter CEO Beppe Marotta: “No Contact With Chelsea For Emerson Palmier, Lautaro Hasn’t Asked To Leave”

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta discussed transfer target Emerson Palmieri and Nerazzurri striker Lautaro Martinez in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN aired moments ago, ahead of the Milanese club’s league clash against Bologna this afternoon.

“We have to live with the games and the transfer market. I understand the questions about the market, but I’m saying that there was no contact and we didn’t start any negotiations for Emerson Palmieri. We are making some evaluations, but the most important thing to think about is this season.”

Marotta then discussed the current situation of the 22-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023. The player is heavily wanted by Barcelona and his €111 million release clause expires on Tuesday next week.

“Beyond the dates and the stakes, the clearest consideration is that Inter does not want to give up its champions and interested young people.

“If there is a willingness on the part of the player to leave, we will evaluate together. So far this request has not arrived.”

Finally, the Inter CEO discussed how it may be beneficial for his career to stay with Inter.

“Given his young age, I think it could be good for his career to stay at Inter. Being an Inter player means playing in a great team and must be a source of great pride.”

Inter are currently 3rd in the league after 29 games, sitting four points behind second place Lazio and 11 points behind first place Juventus, although both of those teams have played 30 games.

A win against the Rossoblu puts the Nerazzurri only one point behind the Biancocelesti, giving them the chance to overtake the Roman club next week. Inter won the first leg 2-1 against Bologna, with goals from Romelu Lukaku.

Inter’s Andrea Ranocchia: “Today A Difficult Game But We Must Continue To Win & Play Well”

Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia discussed the Nerazzurri’s league clash against Bologna ahead of the game in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV, aired moments ago.

“It will be a difficult game today, they have embodied the soul of their coach, they good individual players. But we must continue to win and play well.”

He discussed the timing of the game, 17:15, and how it will be hotter than usual due to the Coronavirus stop.

“Unusual schedule, we’ll see how our legs and head will respond. It will be hot for both teams, it will be a problem for everyone. But we’re ready, we have to win.”

The 32-year-old Italian defender touched on how the Milanese club haven’t had a 0-0 result since the season restart.

“Special situation, in terms of football and beyond. It was difficult to restart, the psychological aspect affects as much as the physical one. It’s normal to see so many goals, a strange situation. We’ll try not to suffer but to make them.”

Finally, Ranocchia spoke about Bologna forward Rodrigo Palacio, who spent five years of his career with the Nerazzurri between 2012 to 2017 before joining the Rossoblu.

“Rodri is a strong player, experienced and technical. To be feared, it will be nice to have him back.”

Ranocchia has struggled for playing time under coach Antonio Conte so far this season, dropping down the hierarchy at the club.

The 32-year-old, who has been with the Nerazzurri since 2011, has made nine appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 640 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the Milanese club keep three clean sheets.

Italian Media Reports Inter Confident In Keeping Barcelona Target Lautaro Martinez Over Next Season

Barcelona are still hoping to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez but the Nerazzurri are confident that they can keep the 22-year-old, according to a report from Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset earlier today.

The report details how Lautaro’s €111 million release clause will expire in two days’ time. Barcelona are unable to pay the large fee and have been negotiating with Inter for months, to no avail.

A few days ago the Blaugrana indicated to Inter that they won’t be able to pay the release clause, but they still plan to sign the player later in the summer.

Inter are confident that they can retain Lautaro, the report continues. The Nerazzurri have no interest in Junior Firpo and will not agree to include him in any deal, and the 22-year-old Argentine striker has never handed in a transfer request or expressed a desire to leave the club.

Inter still consider him central to their project and don’t want to lose him in the summer.

Italian Media Claims Inter Looking To Keep Man Utd’s Alexis Sanchez But Only On A Dry Loan

Inter are looking to keep Manchester United owned forward Alexis Sanchez but a deal may be difficult, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

The report details how the 31-year-old Chilean forward has impressed coach Antonio Conte this season whilst on loan with the Nerazzurri, despite missing a large part of the season due to injury.

Conte believes Sanchez to be a top player and so everything is being done to keep the player in Milan. Inter would like to sign Sanchez on another dry loan, the report continues, but will pay more of the player’s €12 million salary, in order to try and convince the Red Devils to agree to the deal.

Manchester United would like to sell the player definitively instead, but for the moment no offers have arrived and the player himself would like to stay in Milan. Sanchez has scored two goals and provided six assists in 20 appearances this season.
