Newcastle Coach Steve Bruce On Inter Owned Valentino Lazaro: “Happy For Him, Great Performance”

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has admitted to being happy with the recent performances of on loan Valentino Lazaro and other loan players.

The Austrian national team defender joined the Premier League outfit on a six month loan with option to buy from Inter in the most recent January transfer window and that loan has since been extended until the end of the current season.

“I was happy for Bentaleb, Lazaro and Emil Krafth, who had to be patient to play. They came here to test themselves in the Premier League and their performances the other night were great to see,” Bruce remarked as part of his press conference ahead of Newcastle United’s upcoming fixture with West Ham United this weekend.

Lazaro came through the ranks at RB Salzburg in his native Austria and moved to Hertha Berlin in 2018, after a stellar season Inter picked him this past Summer in a circa €20 million deal.

The 24-year-old failed to nail down a place in the Inter team in the first half of the season which led to him being loaned to Newcastle United, who he has made nine appearances for, in which he has scored twice.

Vratislav Gresko On Infamous Mistake Costing Inter 2002 Serie A Title: “They Massacred The Whole Team”

Former Inter defender Vratislav Gresko has recalled what it was like in the days following May 5 2002, the day Inter infamously lost out on the Serie A title on the final day of the 2001/02 season.

Gresko’s mistake, a poor header in the direction of goalkeeper Francesco Toldo, was capitalised on by Karel Poborsky who made the score 2-2 and Lazio would then go on to win the match 4-2 which cost Inter Scudetto glory.

“They didn’t just massacre me, the whole team was massacred,” the Slovakian remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet Il Posticipo.

“I was wrong too, but I could mention many other things that prevented us from winning that year. You have to think about beautiful things and put ugly ones behind you. Don’t forget them, but know how to use them in the future.”

Gresko then spoke on what it was like to be at Inter whilst Massimo Moratti was the president and owner of the club.

“The Moratti family always supported us even when things were not going well. They were always close to us. Giacinto Facchetti did it too. In my career I played for teams like Bayer Leverkusen who were run by a factory and in clubs managed by a family. That was the case at Inter and I felt really good there.”

He then went on to state that he takes responsibility for his mistake that cost the Nerazzurri the title that year.

“I don’t want to blame others, I take responsibility for what happened. I was young, I was 22-years-old. After a bad defeat, the best thing to do is to close the front door and stay in there and not go out.

“Fans go to the stadium to see their team win and when it doesn’t happen they get angry. Fans think that players can influence things.

“When a footballer goes to town, regardless of whether he played the day before or not, he is caught by the fans he meets and must take the blame. In each country, however, it is different.”

He then revealed that he still looks out for Inter’s results and it makes him happy to see Inter win matches.

“I have good relations with Inter and with other clubs and not only in Italy. I have friends in Germany and England. I follow some teams in Italy and especially some players. In Parma I played little, but I follow them because Kucka is there. I watch Serie A and when Inter wins I am happy.”

Gresko then spoke on his experience in Italy as a whole and how things have changed for compatriots of his who have since played in Italy.

“It was not a simple period. In my opinion, everything is different today because Slovak players are treated differently in Italy.

“Today there are many of them in Serie A: Haraslin at Sassuolo, Vavro at Lazio, Skriniar at Inter and Kucka at Parma. In my time the situation was different, but Italy was still a good experience for me.”

In conclusion he spoke on his arrival at Inter.

“I arrived with little experience and only a few games under my belt. I made the leap into a huge team with a beautiful football history, many fans and a beautiful city behind it. Unfortunately, I hadn’t played in many games in Germany because of a muscle injury.”

Chelsea Coach Frank Lampard: “Not Aware Of Talks Between Club & Inter Over Emerson Palmieri”

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has admitted to being unaware of any talks taking place between the club and Inter over Emerson Palmieri.

Reports from various Italian news outlets in the past couple of days have suggested that Inter are pursuing a move for the Italian national team defender.

Reports elsewhere have suggested that the player is keen to make a return to Italy and work with Inter manager Antonio Conte again, who he worked with at Chelsea.

“I’m not aware of the talks. What I am doing is focusing on the team and the squad day to day,” Lampard remarked as part of his pre-match press conference yesterday afternoon ahead of the Blues’ upcoming Premier League match with Watford.

“I don’t have any real conversations about the transfer window, whether it’s who we might bring in or who might leave the club.

“Those are obviously questions we do have to answer come the end of the season when the window opens, but I certainly don’t want to be swayed by rumours or gossip and I’m not involved in it, so we will keep working.”

Emerson came through the ranks at Brazilian side Santos and has also represented both Palermo and Roma during his career prior to his move to Chelsea in January 2018.

This season the 25-year-old, who has two years left to run on his current deal, has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has provided a single assist.

Italian Report Examines & Compares Alexis Sanchez’ & Lautaro Martinez’ Current Form

In today’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport have examined the different moments that Inter forward’s Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez are going through at the moment.

Starting with Sanchez, the Chilean national team player is playing well and clearly stimulated by the idea of securing himself a future with Inter past the end of this season.

Sanchez is almost at his best and against Brescia put on a footballing masterclass with him scoring one and providing two assists for his teammates in the 6-0 win. As a result, it would not be a surprise if Sanchez were to start this weekend’s match against Bologna.

As for Lautaro, the player is in a bit of a rut and has evidently been impact by the rumours in the media which have seen him almost continuously linked with a potential move to Barcelona.

The report goes on to explain that the player has been seduced by Barcelona. He was certain that his future was going to be with Barcelona but it has become apparent that Barcelona do not have the funds to sign him at the moment.

Italian Report Claims Inter The Team In Best Form Out Of Serie A Title Contenders

Of the three teams in the race to win the Serie A title, Inter appear to be in the best form according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

As things stand, Juventus are currently leading the race for the title with them sitting in top spot with 72 points to their name, Lazio are in second with 68 points and Inter are down in third with 64 points.

In addition to being in the best shape, Inter also have an additional weapon they can count upon now in Alexis Sanchez who is close to being back at his best and has been one of Inter’s best performers since the season resumed.

The report also goes on to highlight that Inter have a much kinder schedule than either of the Bianconeri and Biancocelesti.

Although Inter have matches with Roma and Atalanta to face, they have far more games against sides in the bottom half of the table.

Juventus and Lazio have each other to play again, will both face AC Milan and Juventus have to face Roma too whilst Lazio have to face Napoli.
