Hakimi Could Undergo Medical & Sign For Inter Tomorrow

Achraf Hakimi could sign a contract to join Inter as soon as tomorrow according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter are due to meet with Real Madrid to iron out the final details of the €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons deal that they have agreed for the Moroccan national team full back, who has spent the past two years out on loan at Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Should there be no hitches, Hakimi could be in Milan tomorrow to undergo his medical with the Nerazzurri and also put pen to paper on a five year contract with Inter, which will see him earn a sum of €5 million a year.

This season the 21-year-old defender has made 45 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals just shy of 3600 minutes, he has scored nine goals and provided 10 assists for his teammates.

Argentina Coach Lionel Scaloni: “Very Happy With Inter’s Lautaro Martinez, A Reason Barcelona Want Him”

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni discussed Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and a possible move to Barcelona in an interview with Argentine radio station Fenix 95.1 earlier today, as reported by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

Scaloni detailed his thoughts about his national team call ups, discussing the 22-year-old Nerazzurri forward.

“The decision will be made according to the moment of each, certainly. Of course, we are very satisfied with Lautaro. He is very powerful, he works hard.

“He has grown enormously in Italy. If Barcelona wants him, there will be a reason. But Kun Aguero continues to score goals and break records and we’re very happy with him too.”

Barcelona are incredibly keen to sign Lautaro Martinez this summer, believing him to be the perfect replacement for the aging Luis Suarez. The Blaugrana cannot afford the 22-year-old’s €111 million release clause, which is valid in the first week of July, and have been attempting to find a new formula to tempt Inter.

Lautaro has made 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2708 minutes. In that time, he has scored 17 goals and provided five assists. The player has struggled to impress since the restart of the season and will need to prove his strengths once again in the remaining games of the season.

Watch – Highlights Parma 1 – 2: An Ugly & Undeserved Win But A Win Nonetheless

Interwon the Match Day 28 Serie A match away against Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini thanks to a goal each from central defender duo Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni.

After the first 45 minutes somehow Inter were leading a goal down after Gervinho broke the deadlock to give the hometeam the lead. A lead the fully deserved.

In the second half Inter improved slightly but were far from acceptable in terms of performance but managed to equalize through Stefan de Vrij, heading home on a corner.

Then Parma’s Juraj Kucka got himself sent off allowing Inter to the momentum to go after all three points. Something the Nerazzurri capitalized on when Alessandro Bastoni headed home Victor Moses cross.

Player Ratings Parma 1 – 2 Inter: The Defence Turns Out To Be Inter’s Best Attack

Another game where Inter concede from the first shot on target. Another game where the defenders looked like they have met each other for the first time before kick-off. Another game where Inter struggled for large parts to create a half decent chance.

This time, however there was light at the end of the tunnel thanks to a smart De Vrij goal and a nice cross from a Moses pirouette that found Bastoni unmarked at the far post. Inter stay 4 points clear of Atalanta and 13 points clear of Roma who were beaten by Milan earlier in the day.

Samir Handanovic – 5: Yet another game where Handa is beaten by the first shot. Didn’t have much to do for the rest of the night apart from a nice Kulusevski shot .

Diego Godin – 5 : It took until injury time in the first half to get to the ball first for Diego who looks a shadow of the player Interisti expected. Struggled throughout.

Stefan de Vrij – 7: Tried his best to control the chaos Parma’s forwards caused. Can only do so much and was often pulled wide to fill the gaps left by Godin and Danilo D’Ambrosio.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5: Not a good comeback to the team for Danilo. His game was not helped by Candreva being out of position and energy in the first half. Better later.

Antonio Candreva – 5: Yes he works hard and fits the Conte role perfectly, however his defensive work is shoddy and his positioning is atrocious. Shocking in attack.

Nicolo Barella – 5: Nicolo certainly didn’t look anywhere close to fit. Fluffed passes and shots like he’s not trained recently. Hopefully Brozovic is returning soon.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6: Much better performance this time around. Battled for possession and managed to get into Parma’s box a few times. Showed some mental strength.

Cristiano Biraghi – 5.5: Played really well against Sassuolo but struggled against the pace. The attacking play was shoddy to say the least, marginally better after the break.

Christian Eriksen – 5.5: Barely got a touch of the ball where it mattered. Christian is the main creative force but he cant create anything if he doesn’t have the ball. Tired?

Romelu Lukaku – 5.5: Romelu looked increasingly frustrated with the wayward crossing and passes into the box. Was always looking to get involved and create something.

Lautaro Martinez – 6: Lost his cool with the ref fairly early and then tried to smash anything and everything. When he calmed down he can keep his composure to assist.

Alexis Sanchez – 7: Alexis revived what was a dead Inter attack tonight until the 70th minute. Always running and it was his chasing that won the corner to level the game.

Victor Moses – 6.5: Moses delivered some impact from the bench. Yes he made a couple of bad decisions but that cross to Bastoni was a great piece of brilliance.

Ashley Young – 6: Kept his flank quiet and could have so easily managed to score tonight. Along with Bastoni he made sure that Kulusevski didn’t cause any more harm.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7: Game by game, minute by minute the €30 million look like a steal. As always played with a calm head and the goal will give the team belief.

Borja Valero – N/A: Borja came on after Inter went into the lead as a time wasting sub, still managed to win a couple of free kicks and waste valuable time at the end

Antonio Conte – 4: The 3 points are important, however basic defensive errors still continue to happen. The attack was barely existent until the last 10 minutes or so.

Fabio Maresca – 3: Not sure how the handball was missed in the Parma box. Didn’t use VAR then. Some 50-50 calls that troubled both the benches. Didn’t have control.

Inter – 4: For large portions of the game it looked like the players went away for the last 3 days and met on the morning of the game. Need massive improvement and soon.

BVB CEO Watzke: “Apart From Inter Target Hakimi Next Season Our Squad Will Be Identical”

Borussia Dortmund CEO Dortmund Hans-Joachim Watzke discussed the German side’s season and the situation of Real Madrid right back Achraf Hakimi in an interview with German broadcaster Sport 1 yesterday afternoon.

Watzke discussed the summer transfer window and how the team will remain identical, except for the departure of Hakimi.

“I don’t think there will be any transfers in the summer. Next year we will have an unusual situation. With the exception of Achraf Hakimi, the team will remain identical. This helps in development.

“Jadon Sancho? We don’t want to let him go unless he comes and tells us that he wants to leave the team. But this case hasn’t happened yet. The phase where we sold the players is over”

“The outcome of the Bundesliga is OK, and the Champions League results are also fine. It may happen that we are against PSG, but we managed to get through one round against Barcelona and Inter.

“The exit from the German Cup remains undeniable, but when you lose twice against Werder Bremen in the quarter finals in two seasons in a row, it becomes difficult to accept.”

Inter are set to sign the 21-year-old Hakimi over the next day or two, signing the player from Real Madrid. The deal will cost the Nerazzurri €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons, an important investment in a player that coach Antonio Conte is incredibly keen to insert into his squad. Hakimi himself is excited to play for the Lecce born coach and even declined more expensive offers from Manchester City and Bayern Munich in order to link up with the former Juventus and Italy coach. Hakimi has scored nine goals and provided 10 assists in 45 appearances this season.

Inter Assistant Coach Cristian Stellini: “Our Substitutions Made A Difference”

Inter assistant coach Cristian Stellini discussed the Nerazzurri’s tough 2-1 comeback win over Parma in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV after the game.

“You prepare the games, expecting them to go a certain way. And we did it just the way we set it up, for 90 minutes. We suffered, of course, but it’s a deserved win.

“Conceding a goal at the start, after the draw against Sassuolo, it’s clear that you can accuse us of something, but I saw a second half that was more than excellent.”

He discussed the importance of the five substitutions and how it’s difficult to rotate a healthy squad when playing every three games.

“They gave a shock, didn’t they, and this is a value that we must cultivate. They will be very important playing every three days.”

The Inter Assistant discussed the relatively poor performance from the Nerazzurri in the first half.

“Some passes were not correct, we were very fast. The changes in front were fast and our defenders couldn’t find the pass. Then the game changed, also because the opponents didn’t have the same energy.

“So, you have to keep believing in this path, which is important and long. These guys played an important game today.”

Finally, Stellini discussed how the win over Parma shows that the squad have a strong character.

“Of course, that’s why the team should be congratulated. It’s not easy, at certain times, despite a dominated game, to go on to win games. So, you have to make up for it with character.”

Inter coach Antonio Conte was forced to watch the 2-1 win over the Emilian club on the sidelines after receiving a one match suspension for his behaviour in the 2-2 draw against Sassuolo in the mid-week game.

The Lecce born coach will be happy with the three points, especially considering that they are only eight points behind league leaders Juventus, and so cannot be ruled out of the title race just yet, although Lazio are sure to provide competition for the title.

Inter & Chelsea Find An Agreement Over Extending Victor Moses Loan Until End Of August

Inter have reached agreements with Chelsea regarding a two-month loan extension for Victor Moses, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have been in talks with the two English clubs in order to extend the loan deals of Moses and Sanchez.

Both players were set to return to their parent clubs at the end of this month, but the Coronavirus stop has meant that the season won’t finish until mid-August. The duo’s loan deals now last until the end of August, allowing coach Antonio Conte to deploy both of them in the remaining games of the season.

Inter aren’t planning to keep Moses beyond this season, the report continues, but it could be a different story for Sanchez.

The 31-year-old Chilean forward has failed to fully impress in his debut season with the Nerazzurri but Conte is still a fan of the former Arsenal forward.

The Milanese club are considering keeping him for another season as well, and will talk with the Red Devils about a possible deal in August. Today, a conference call between Inter and Manchester United is scheduled to resolve the final obstacles to keep the Chilean at Inter until the end of August.
