Matchwinner Alessandro Bastoni: “I Kissed The Shirt After My Goal Because I’m An Inter Fan”

Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni discussed the Nerazzurri’s 2-1 comeback against Parma earlier tonight in an interview with Italian broadcaster InterTV immediately after the game.

“Very important goal. I’m very happy because we revealed ourselves to be a good team, we pushed until the end. I played here last year and I know them very well.

“We know that with this style of play we can concede something, but it’s a philosophy that we have chosen and we must continue like this.”

The 21-year-old Italian centre back then discussed how important it was to beat the Emilian club and how happy he is to play for Inter.

“Let’s look at the league table relatively, it was important to win today after the rather strange draw against Sassuolo. Why I kissed the shirt after my goal? I’ve always said that I’m an Inter fan and it’s a dream come true for me to be here.”

Bastoni, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, broke into the first team under coach Antonio Conte this season, after impressing in the pre-season training camp.

The player’s performances have been strong enough to justify starting him over the far more experienced defender Diego Godin, potentially pushing the Uruguayan out the door.

The 21-year-old Italian defender scored the winning goal against Parma earlier tonight, only his second goal of the season. Bastoni has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1617 minutes. In that time, he has helped the Milanese club keep two clean sheets.

Inter Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini: “I Came From Making A Big Mistake But Today It Went Well”

Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini discussed the Nerazzurri’s tough 2-1 comeback against Parma earlier tonight in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia immediately after the game.

“I’m happy, tired but happy. An important win after suffering. I came from making a huge mistake, but it went well. Today I was convinced I would score, I had prepared this shirt for my parents because you never tell your parents enough but I love them a lot. I’m happy with the victory.”

The 26-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, played the full 90 minutes of the Milanese side’s 2-1 win over Parma earlier tonight, despite his disappointing open goal miss against Sassuolo in the mid-week game, which costed Inter dearly at the end.

The former Atalanta midfielder was keen to make amends against the Emilian side and played well, but failed to directly contribute to either goal in the 2-1 win.

Gagliardini has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1288 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, struggling to fully convince coach Antonio Conte. The player may be sold in the summer as the Nerazzurri look to strengthen their midfield department.

Inter Assistant Coach Cristian Stellini: “A Well Deserved Win & An Important Result”

Inter assistant coach Cristian Stellini, who filled in for the suspended Antonio Conte, discussed the Nerazzurri’s important 2-1 comeback against Parma in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

First, the Italian spoke about the team’s performance against the Emilian club.

“In the meantime, in my opinion this was a well deserved win. We gave Parma a lot of chances knowing that this is one of the most difficult teams to face in the restart.

“They did well, they scored, but we built the game up and had a lot of chances. In the end we won deservedly.”

He discussed how difficult it is for the squad to play every three days, especially considering the long break the squad have just undergone.

“Right now, it’s not easy to have all the players ready. Even today we had two players playing their first match in 3-4 months, and that’s not easy for anyone, especially when you’re facing the Parma strikers.

“What’s more, in the first three games we conceded 5 goals out of 8 shots on target, which is not normal. We need to analyse things thoroughly. We need to be satisfied, we needed an important answer and we gave it. Whoever goes in from now on has to make the difference.”

Stellini commented on how the partnership between Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez seems to have deteriorated since the inclusion of a trequartista in the squad.

“It’s true, we don’t always find the two strikers combining. These are choices that are made from match to match, we’ve created a lot in these games. The opportunities must be exploited, if we had done so we wouldn’t be talking about a team in pain.

“We’ve changed a few things, we still have to grow for these new things, but we create opportunities. Whether they come from the wings, the trequartista or the exchanges, it’s because we’re looking for unpredictability.”

He spoke about how the midfield pair need to improve their ability to cover the centre of the pitch, considering the inclusion of Christian Eriksen.

“We still have improvements to make, we don’t expect to put new things in right away and have the right balance. We’re looking ahead, but tonight we deserved the win. We played, we reacted, it wasn’t easy.”

The Inter assistant coach was positive about the result, despite the fact that the team again failed to fully take advantage of their chances.

“We don’t have to expect everything to be smooth and perfect when you put in important tactics. You win games by standing there with your head in the game and waiting for your moment.

“It’s not just a good game or non-suffering that makes you win, against Napoli we didn’t suffer but we didn’t win. We believe in our players, in our way, today we brought home an important result.”

Finally, Stellini talked about the lack of creativity in the midfield and if Stefano Sensi is missed.

“It’s normal that we’re missing fundamental elements in the middle of the pitch. But it’s clearly not the time to talk about the absentees.

“When attackers enter a period where they make mistakes in front of goal, it becomes an issue. We have to trust that their time will come, and anyway Lautaro and Lukaku have scored a lot.”

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta: “Excellent Work By Piero Ausilio, Tomorrow Is A Decisive Day For Hakimi Transfer”

Inter’s Sporting CEO Beppe Marotta stopped by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia moments ago, to share his thoughts on all things Nerazzurri, going into the match day 27 clash against Parma away at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, with kick off scheduled for 21.45 CET.

The former Juventus CEO was asked about the rumors that state that Real Madrid’s Moroccan international fullback Achraf Hakimi is on the verge of becoming an Inter player. Marotta confirmed that a deal was close, refusing to reply if Los Blancos have an option buy the player back, whilst also praising Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio as the person masterminding the whole operation.

“The aim of the club and by thanks to the will of the Zhang family, is to continue to make investments, therefore taking advantage of the opportunities that the transfer market offers.

“I wont hide the fact that we are at an advanced stage of the negotiations but I want to underline that we are still in a strange phase and I also want to underline the importance of the current squad that will take to the pitch tonight.

“Ausilio has done an excellent job, we still have to conclude the negotiations, however tomorrow will be an important day and we will see how we will resolve the situation. I am optimistic. Piero Ausilio ahs done great work these past few months.”

Marotta was asked if Inter have reached an agreement with Manchester United and Chelsea over extending the loan contracts of Alexis Sanchez and Victor Moses respectively to the end of the season, stating that it is an unusual situation that the Nerazzurri also find themselves in with Bayern Munich concerning Croatian international winger Ivan Perisic.

“This is a great regulatory anomaly that needs to be resolved because we are still dealing with Chelsea and Manchester United today to try to extend their loans. It is not a beautiful thing. We are also dealing with Bayern Munich over Ivan Perisic.”

Inter Wingback Cristiano Biraghi: “We Want To Get Back To Winning Ways After Sassuolo Draw”

Fiorentina owned Inter loanee and Italian international wingback Cristiano Biraghi, stopped by Italian broadcaster InterTV to share his thoughts going into match day 28 of the Serie A away at Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, with kick-off scheduled for 21.45 CET.

The former Pescara man began by underlining that the most important job tonight was to get back to winning ways, following the poor midweek performance at home against Sassuolo which ended in a 3-3 draw.

“We hope to be able to start by scoring many goals but above all winning the match after the draw against Sassuolo.

“There hasn’t been a lot of time to work on the pitch but it is a positive thing that we return immediately to the pitch after a match that didn’t go the way we wanted it to. Today we can get back to winning ways without looking at what anyone else is doing.”

In conclusion Biraghi warned that the Nerazzurri are weary of the counter attacking threat that Parma pose and that they need to remain focused for the entire match.

“We are aware of their characteristics, we saw them already in the reverse fixture at the San Siro. We have to pay attention, we have prepared well for this match.”

Moments later he stopped by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, adding that: “We are well aware that today we have to do what we failed to in the previous match.

“It is normal that continuity is important for a player, but today what is important is that the team wins so we get back on the right track.”

Cristiano Biraghi came up the youth ranks at Inter making his Nerazzurri first team debut as a substitute in the Champions League in November 2010 against Twente, replacing Goran Pandev.

Biraghi was sold to Pescara in July 2016 and subsequently to Fiorentina the following summer 2017. He rejoined Inter on loan last summer and has since his return featured 27 times across all competitions scoring two goals in the process.
