Inter Owned Radja Nainggolan Open To Possibility Of Staying At Cagliari: “Why Not?”

Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan discussed his future and the chances of him staying with Cagliari in an interview after the Rossoblu’s 4-2 win over Torino last night. His words were noted by Italian media outlet PassioneInter.com.

“I always make myself available. I manage a bit and try to give something, but it’s nice to play for this squad. Zenga put himself in the game, I liked how he manages the squad and is bringing his ideas, but the important thing is to have built something solid in this period.”

The 32-year-old Belgian midfielder then suggested that he would be open to staying with Cagliari beyond this season.

“Future at Cagliari? I don’t know anything, I haven’t heard from anyone but I’m calm. I’ll finish the season, then if the president will make an important effort why not?”

Nainggolan has spent this season on a dry loan at Cagliari, with the player not being considered relevant for coach Antonio Conte’s project at the club. The Belgian midfielder has made 25 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2002 minutes. In that time, he has scored six goals and provided six assists.

Cagliari have suggested that they are content with Nainggolan’s performances this season and would like to keep the player, but wouldn’t be able to afford either his wages or a deal with Inter. The Nerazzurri may be willing to negotiate, considering that they don’t want to reintegrate the former Roma midfielder into the squad.

Danilo D’Ambrosio, Diego Godin & Cristiano Biraghi All Expected To Start Today For Inter Vs Parma

Inter coach Antonio Conte will make three changes to the back three for tonight’s game against Parma, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri will deploy Italian defender Danilo D’Ambrosio, Dutch centre back Stefan de Vrij and Uruguayan veteran Diego Godin ahead of Slovenian captain Samir Handanovic against the Emilian side this evening at the Stadio Enrico Tardini. These changes have been in part due to necessity, with Milan Skriniar suspended and Alessandro Bastoni unfit.

Inter have conceded 28 goals in 27 games so far this season, the report continues, and have only kept one clean sheet in 2020. Coach Antonio Conte understands the importance of building a strong defense, with his Juventus squad having one of the best defenses in European football when he was in charge. The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their defense this summer.

Roberto Gagliardini Could Be Given Chance To Redeem Himself By Starting For Inter Vs Parma

Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini has the opportunity to redeem himself as he is set to start against Parma this evening, according to a report from Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 26-year-old former Atalanta midfielder suffered widespread criticism for his open goal miss against Sassuolo in the mid-week game, which ended up costing the Milanese club dearly as they dropped two points to the Neroverdi. Gagliardini is keen to make amends for his mistake and coach Antonio Conte is willing to give him that opportunity.

Gagliardini is set to start ahead of Borja Valero in the midfield, the report continues, teaming up with former Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella. The 26-year-old Italian midfielder has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1198 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, failing to fully convince coach Antonio Conte.

Inter Plan On Beginning Contract Extension Talks With Lautaro Martinez On July 7th

Inter will make an initial appointment with Lautaro Martinez’s agents to discuss a new contract after his release clause expires on the 7th July, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 22-year-old Argentine striker has a release clause of €111 million, valid in the first week of July. Should Barcelona, who are incredibly keen to sign Lautaro, fail to pay that release clause, then the Milanese club will begin work on offering the player a new deal.

Inter are planning to offer Lautaro a salary worth €5 million net per season plus add-ons, the report continues, which may rise to €6 million over the years. The deal is worth significantly less than the one offered by Barcelona, €10 million per season, but the Milanese club are remaining true to their wage structure. Detailed negotiations won’t begin until the end of the season.

Roma To Fend Off Inter’s Interest In Edin Dzeko By Offering Post Career Directorial Role

Roma have a plan to repel Inter’s interest in Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are interested in the 34-year-old Bosnian forward, who is contracted to the Giallorossi until 2022. Coach Antonio Conte wanted to sign the player last summer but a deal never materialised, with the player instead signing a three-year deal with Roma. Despite that, Inter are looking at signing the player again in the summer.

Roma won’t even consider the idea of selling Dzeko, the report continues, and the club will offer the player a career in management at the end of his career. In 2022 Dzeko will be 36 years old and will be able to choose his future, including the possibility of taking that job. The former Manchester City striker has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 33 appearances so far this season.

Italian Media Report Inter Coach Antonio Conte Sets Sights On Torino’s €25M Defender Armando Izzo

Inter coach Antonio Conte’s preferred defensive signing is Torino centre back Armando Izzo, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are working hard to try and please the Lecce born coach and have begun the work needed to sign the 28-year-old Italian defender, who is contracted to the Granata until 2024. Izzo’s valuation is around €25 million, around the same price as Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla, who Inter are no longer looking to sign. Another option would be Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen, who will be a free agent.

Izzo has made 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2832 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and helped the side keep eight clean sheets. Torino aren’t particularly interested in losing the Italian defender but could be convinced by the Milanese club, especially if the right offer arrives, considering the current financial climate.

Inter To Use Cash From Offloading Joao Mario & Ivan Perisic To Sign Sandro Tonali

Inter are planning to fund the deal for Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali with the money earnt from the sales of Ivan Perisic and Joao Mario, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are keen to sign the 20-year-old Italian midfielder, who has impressed in his debut season in Serie A with Brescia. The Milanese club have prepared an offer of €30-35 million for Tonali, lower than Cellino’s €50 million valuation but also more realistic given the current financial climate.

The money for this deal will come from the sales of Perisic to Bayern Munich and Joao Mario, the report continues. The German champions are interested in making the Croatian forward’s stay in Bavaria permanent and are considering activating their buy option on the player. Joao Mario hasn’t fully impressed Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow but could still find a new home elsewhere next summer, considering that he has no future with Inter.

Italian Media Report Achraf Hakimi To Undergo Medicals & Sign For Inter On Tuesday

Real Madrid right back Achraf Hakimi’s medicals with Inter will take place on Tuesday, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset aired moments ago.

The report details how the player is ready to join the Nerazzurri and will sign for the Milanese club on Tuesday, after a successful completion of his medicals. The deal will cost Inter €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons, with the 21-year-old Moroccan right back being given a five-year contract worth €5 million net per season plus add-ons.

There will be no buy back clause in the deal, the report continues, giving Inter complete control over Hakimi and his future.

Nerazzurri Coach Antonio Conte was instrumental in convincing the 21-year-old Moroccan to join Inter instead of accepting the more financially appealing offers from Bayern Munich and Manchester City, the report continues, who were both also interested in acquiring the Real Madrid youth product.

Hakimi has scored nine goals and provided 10 assists in 45 games this season.

Lucien Agoume’s Agent: “Contract Extension Talks With Inter Won’t Be A Problem”

Agent Oscar Damiani discussed Inter midfielder Lucien Agoume, former Nerazzurri forward Yann Karamoh and Andrew Gravillon in an interview with Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.com earlier today. Damiani represents all three players.

First, he discussed the 21-year-old Karamoh.

“He had the best match against the Nerazzurri, I hope he plays. He has everything to prove his worth. The job pays and it’s not a done deal.”

The agent then touched on the situation of 18-year-old French midfielder Agoume, whose contract expires with Inter in 2022.

“He made another appearance against Sassuolo and this is important. The renewal will not be a problem.”

Finally, Damiani discussed the 22-year-old Gravillon, who is currently on loan at Ascoli.

“With the new coach at Ascoli we hope he’ll do well. He could go to France but it’s not certain, even in Italy there are teams that are monitoring him.”

Agoume has broken into the first team under coach Antonio Conte this season, joining Primavera teammate Sebastiano Esposito in the first team. The 18-year-old Frenchman has made two first team appearances for the Milanese club so far this season, for a total of 34 minutes, including playing 28 minutes against Sassuolo in the mid-week game. The defensive midfielder is another one of Inter’s exciting young talents, and the Nerazzurri are focusing on producing strong youth talent to strengthen the first team.

Preview – Parma vs Inter: Yet Another Trip Down Redemption Road

After drawing the cursed fixture against Sassuolo, Inter look to climb the back up the unlikely ladder of title contention against Parma in a tricky away match. Match tonight Sunday at 21:45 CET.

Whether Antonio Conte was making a point to the Inter board and tifosi or whether it was just a mistake, his reliance on too much rotation proved to be costly for the Nerazzurri’s slim title contention hopes. It will be safe to assume that Conte will now make sure to select his best eleven for this match trying to take the three points from the hosts.

It is clear that Nicolo Barella must always be selected if available. The young Italian has cemented himself as an essential cog in the Conte midfield machine, and his absence throws the central module off-balance. Barella will play alongside Spaniard Borja Valero, who will probably replace the on-the-mend Marcelo Brozovic.

With Cristiano Biraghi’s impressive performance last week, it is quite possible he will start on the left flank ahead of Sassuolo villain Ashley Young. The usually disappointing Italian wide-man had a season-defining performance capped with an excellent goal.

Expect Conte’s tactics to be business as usual, lining up his side to smash and grab the match in the first half and then take their foot off the gas in the second period.

Roberto D’Aversa’s Parma will look to take a page out of the Sassuolo playbook. In Gervinho and Dejan Kulusevski, Parma possess the sufficient speed and technique on the wings to be able to trouble the visitors on the break, stretching the play out wide in the final third. The two men will either flank or play off the in-form Danish striker Andreas Cornelius.

Inter must commit to winning the match at all costs, especially to keep the ambitions of the resurgent Atalanta at bay, however, this desire to win cannot be at the expense of underestimating a very tricky host. A tough match awaits the visitors.

Team New

Inter are still without the services of Stefano Sensi and Matias Vecino while midfield metronome Marcelo Brozovic might make it to Conte’s squad selection having apparently recovered from his muscular injury. Milan Skriniar will miss the match due to the ridiculous multi-match suspension he picked up against Sassuolo due to his alleged insulting of the referee.

Probable line-up (3-4-1-2): Handanovic (C); Godin, de Vrij, Bastoni; Candreva, Barella, Valero, Biraghi; Eriksen; Lautaro, Lukaku.

Stats

Last Season: Parma 0-1 Inter

Last 10 Head to Head: Parma hold an unlikely slight lead over Inter with four wins to Inter’s three. That said, Inter have won in two of their last three trips to the Tardini.

Keep an Eye on

Lautaro Martinez: The Argentine striker’s chances of a move to Barcelona have taken a knock this week with news of a potential transfer fee cap to be imposed on the Catalans. This, coupled with news of Achraf Hakimi’s imminent arrival at the club, will probably fire-up the Argentine to continue to shine and play an increasingly important role at this resurgent project.

Officials

Referee: Fabio Maresca.

Assistants: Mondin and Prenna.

Fourth Official: La Penna.

VAR Assistants: Guida and Vivenzi.

Prediction & Concluding Remarks

Prediction & scorers: Parma 1 – 2 Inter with Lukaku and Lautaro to score for the visitors.

Concluding remarks: It appears that Inter will, yet again, not be able to maintain a clean sheet here. That said, expect the Nerazzurri to ensure that they take back all three points to Appiano here.
