Schelotto: “Never Forget Inter President’s Moratti’s Words To Me After My Goal Vs AC Milan”

Ezequiel Schelotto has revealed that the conversation he had with former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti after scoring in the Milan derby for Inter is among his greatest memories.

The current Brighton & Hove Albion full back was on Inter’s books between January 2013 and the Summer of 2015 and in one of his first few appearances for the club he scored an equaliser to secure Inter a draw in the Milan derby, which proved to be one of very few high points during his time with the club.

Schelotto left Inter after he and the club agreed to mutually terminate his contract and he moved on to Portuguese giants Sporting CP and after two years there he joined his current employers.

During his spell with Inter, the Argentine made just 13 appearances across all competitions and failed to make any goal contributions other than the one mentioned above.

“I have played everywhere, from north to south, and from every club I keep something special. From the double promotion with Cesena to the first goal in Serie A for Catania and the incredible salvation achieved with Atalanta to Moratti’s words after scoring in the Milan derby, which I will never forget,” he remarked in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

Italian Journalist Sconcerti: “Inter Are The Ideal Club For Torino’s Andrea Belotti”

Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Andrea Belotti would be ideal for Inter but will stay with current employers Torino.

The Nerazzurri club have seemingly sparked an interest in adding the Granata captain to their ranks in the event that Lautaro Martinez is to depart the club amid ongoing links to Spanish powerhouses Barcelona.

Reports in the media have suggested that Inter could perhaps offer one of Andrea Pinamonti, Roberto Gagliardini or Radja Nainggolan plus cash to Torino in exchange for Belotti, who they reportedly value in the region of €40 million.

“I think Belotti would do well everywhere but he will stay in Turin. It would be an unpopular transfer if Cairo sold him and would put the club in difficulty. The ideal club for him would be Inter, paired with Lukaku,” Sconcerti remarked in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio yesterday afternoon.

This season Belotti, who has been with Torino since 2015 and has a contract with them until 2022, has made 33 appearances across all competitions to date.

During his time on the park, which totals just under 2900 minutes, he has scored 16 goals and provided three assists for his teammates.

Marcello Lippi: “Inter Aren’t In A Crisis, Lucien Agoume Seemed Very Interesting To Me”

Legendary Italian football manager Marcello Lippi has shared his belief that Inter’s heavy turnover was a factor in their failure to beat Sassuolo in mid-week.

Inter manager Antonio Conte made no less than five changes to the team that started in this past weekend’s 2-1 success and Inter had to settle for a single point against the Neroverdi.

Inter fell behind early doors but were 2-1 ahead by the time the half time whistle was blown. Inter could and should have extended their lead but Sassuolo scored next. Inter then scored with a few minutes to spare and looked set to win but Sassuolo equalised moments later and secured themselves a 3-3 draw.

“Inter changed many players and this may have played a role in the result. They were able to take the lead twice and in short, I did not see them as being in crisis,” Lippi explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition.

The former Italian national team manager was then asked which players have surprised him since the Serie A campaign got back underway a week ago.

“There were no surprises, I saw the usual players we know well. Among the young people though, there was one that struck me, Lucien Agoumé of Inter. I confess, I didn’t know him before and he seemed very interesting to me.”

Inter Agree 4 Year Professional Contract With Primavera Player Niccolo Squizzato

Inter have reached an agreement with Primavera player Niccolo Squizzato over a new contract with the club according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

The 18-year-old has agreed to a four year professional contract with the club which will run until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The Italian youth national team central midfielder has progressed through the ranks of Inter’s youth academy and has been playing at Primavera level since this past Summer.

This season Squizzato made 24 appearances across all competitions to date. During his time on the park, which totals just over 1400 minutes, he has failed to score any goals but has provided four assists for his teammates.

Squizzato is just the latest in a long line of young Inter players to be handed a new deal and is unlikely to be the last one either. Reports have suggested Inter are working on extending Lucien Agoume and Lorenzo Pirola’s deals and it has also been well documented that they are trying to tie Sebastiano Esposito down to a new deal too.
