Italian Media Highlight’s Inter’s Dreams Of Winning The Serie A As ‘A Mirage’

The Serie A title is now a mirage for Inter following last night’s result against Sassuolo according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter had a slim chance at title glory heading into last night’s affair but having drawn 3-3 and with league leaders Juventus winning, Inter have now slid eight points behind their arch rivals which now seems to be an insurmountable difference for Antonio Conte’s men.

Inter made no less than five changes to the starting line-up that started in this past weekend’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria and were made to pay for the decision to rotate so heavily with them unable to kill the game off with the large majority of the side being back-up options.

The midfield in particular suffered with Borja Valero and Roberto Gagliardini finding themselves countered often and seemingly unable to do anything about it. The report suggests Marcelo Brozovic could have made a difference had he been available.

Italian Media Rate Roberto Gagliardini & Ashley Young As Worst Inter’s Performers In Draw With Sassuolo

Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Biraghi were Inter’s joint best performers in last night’s 3-3 draw at home to Sassuolo in the eyes of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport and their player ratings from the match.

Lukaku scored Inter’s first goal in the match and Biraghi scored Inter’s second and both players have been handed ratings of 6.5/10 for their efforts.

Club captain Samir Handanovic, Antonio Candreva, Borja Valero, Stefan de Vrij and Lautaro Martinez have all been given 6/10 whilst Alexis Sanchez, Lucien Agoume, Victor Moses, Christian Eriksen and Milan Skriniar were all rated 5.5/10.

The worst performances on the night belonged to both Roberto Gagliardini and Ashley Young. Gagliardini made a number of errors and missed an open goal whilst Young had a forgettable appearance off of the substitutes bench. Both players have been given a rating of 4.5/10.

The Rome based news outlet also gave Inter manager Antonio Conte a 5/10 rating due to the fact his decision to massively rotate ultimately cost the team.

Italian Report Praises Referee Massa For Handling Of Penalties & Non-Penalties In Inter’s Draw With Sassuolo

In today’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport have analysed the performance of referee Davide Massa in last night’s crazy 3-3 draw between Inter and Sassuolo.

Sassuolo rushed to an early lead through Francesco Caputo. Inter managed to overturn things by the half time interval, which they went into 2-1 up thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Biraghi.

Inter had many chances to extend their lead and put the game out of sight but failed to do so before Sassuolo equalised. Inter scored with five minutes to spare and looked set to go on to win but moments later Sassuolo equalised and ensured the points were shared.

The report from the Rome based news outlet believes that Massa got penalty and non-penalty calls correct. When it came to the non-penalty when the ball hit off Ashley Young’s arm, the penalty was not given as he gave the impression of wanting to get his arm out of the way.

The report goes on to criticise Massa for the way he dished out cards throughout the match. He dished out no shortage of yellow cards and also gave a red card to Milan Skriniar late on. He should have also handed out a red card to Sassuolo player Rogerio in the first half.

Inter and AC Milan are set to go head to head in a battle to sign highly rated Argentine youth national team striker Adolfo Gaich according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

San Lorenzo, who have also received an expression of interest from Benfica, want at least €15 million for the physically imposing striker.

Italian Media Reports Lazio Can Close Deal For Inter & Juventus Linked Marash Kumbulla

Lazio are now in a position where they can close a deal for highly rated Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla according to a report from Italian journalist and transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla.

The Biancocelesti club appear closest to landing him of the three clubs widely reported to be in for him with the other two clubs interested being Inter and Juventus.

Pedulla explains that Inter are still interested but are no longer pushing intently to sign the Albanian national team centre back whilst Juventus have done nothing more than make a simple enquiry to the Gialloblu club.

Reports elsewhere in the media have stated that Hellas Verona want €32 million plus add-ons for the 20-year-old, who has had first team breakthrough this season.

Juventus Make Enquiry For Inter & Barcelona Linked Arsenal Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Inter are no longer the only Italian club who have an interest in signing Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to a report from French news outlet Le10Sport.

Inter have identified Aubameyang as a potential replacement for Lautaro Martinez, who continues to draw links over a potential move to Spanish giants Barcelona.

The Nerazzurri club now appear to face competition from arch rivals Juventus for Aubameyang with the report explaining that the Bianconeri club have made an enquiry about the Gabon national team striker.

The report goes on to add that for the time being Aubameyang’s future is open with a contract renewal with Arsenal not out of the equation either.

Arsenal are working on a new deal for the former Borussia Dortmund player but it remains to be seen if they will be able to meet his demands.

In recent days reports from Italy have suggested that Barcelona are also looking at trying to sign the former Borussia Dortmund player, given that negotiations with Inter over Lautaro Martinez have stagnated.

This season he has made 34 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 20 goals and tallied one assist.

Torino & Benevento Want Andrea Pinamonti But He Wants Another Chance At Inter

Torino and Benevento have started talks with Andrea Pinamonti’s agent over a potential move to them in the upcoming transfer window according to a report form Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Pinamonti is currently on the books of Genoa and Inter have a gentleman’s agreement in place with the Rossoblu to re-sign the talented young forward and the report claims that the player himself would also like another go at things at the Nerazzurri club, whom he is a youth academy graduate of.

Inter manager Antonio Conte will ultimately decide Pinamonti’s future. If the former Italian national team player decides he wants him he could be used as a fourth choice striker.

If Conte does not want him though there is no shortage of interest in his services from elsewhere and Inter could well use him as an exchange chip in a deal for another player.

This season the 21-year-old forward has made 23 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and provided three assists for his teammates.

Watch – Highlights Inter 3 – 3 Sassuolo: Woeful Display From Conte, Gagliardini, Young & Co

Inter drew the Match Day 26 Serie A match against Sassuolo at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district thanks to a goals from Romelu Lukaku, Cristiano Biraghi and Borja Valero.

After the first 45 minutes somehow Inter were leading 2-1 despite an awful first half, after Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Biraghi scored a goal each to cancel out Caputo’s goal and then go one in front.

In the second half Inter improved slightly but were far from acceptable in terms of performance and could have gone up by 2 goals when Roberto Gagliardini committed possibly the worst miss in the game of football at professional level.

This coupled with Ashley Young’s horror show performance after coming on and within 4 minutes causing two penalties but only 1 being awarded, means that the Nerazzurri were lucky to get 1 point at home against Sassuolo.

Lazio Overtake Inter & Juventus & Now Lead Race To Sign Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla

There is a three way race between Inter, Juventus and Lazio for the signature of Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired late last night.

All three clubs are currently working on signing the highly rated Albanian and Lazio are currently leading the race for him.

One reason for this is because Inter do not have money available to them to get a move done, even though they have already made an offer of €25 million plus €3 million in add-ons to the Gialloblu club.

So far Juventus have only offered swap deals, none of which interest the management of Hellas Verona, who want €32 million plus add-ons for the player and hope to have a deal in place with a club by the end of this month.

This season the 20-year-old centre back has made 21 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored a single goal.
