Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho discussed the way he leads his teams, his attachment to them and briefly his time at Inter in an interview with English broadcaster Sky Sports yesterday afternoon.

“When I am in a club, I like to be one of them and I like to feel what my people feel. It’s a new feeling for me when I move from club to club, but I learn that feeling very, very fast.

“I would say that the moment I put my foot in a club for the first time, I learn it automatically. So yes, I am one of them. In this case, one of us, which is Tottenham people. What is important for the fans is important for me.”

The Portuguese coach highlighted that he understands how it feels to be an Inter fan during the Milanese derby, as well as being in charge of other clubs.

“When I go to the derby as Inter manager, I know what it means for them. When I go as a Real Madrid manager, I know what it means for them. And when I go as Tottenham manager, I know what it means for them.”

Finally, Mourinho discussed how he always leads his teams with the same passion and desire, regardless of any previous feelings or comments.

“They can count on me to have exactly the same feelings, the same desire and the same passion that they have. When you are a player or a coach of a certain team, it cannot just be a job for you.

“You must have a sense of duty and a responsibility towards the people who love your club. For me, my club, my passion, my love, is the club where I am.”

The 57-year-old Portuguese coach was in charge of Inter from 2008 to 2010 and in those two years quickly became one of the most important figures in the club’s history.

Mourinho guided the club to a Serie A title in his first season in charge, but managed to win the Treble with the Nerazzurri the following campaign, the only Treble ever in Italian football so far, creating much jealousy from Juventus fans.

Inter owned striker Facundo Colidio was happy to begin pre-season work with Belgian side Sint-Truiden, where he is currently on loan, and expressed this in a post on Instagram.

The 20-year-old Argentine striker was bought by Inter from Boca Juniors in September 2017, but the player still hasn’t made a first team appearance for the Milanese club yet. For the Primavera squad Colidio scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 55 games across all competitions.

Former Inter and Italy striker Alessandro Altobelli remembered the Azzurri’s 1982 World Cup triumph with a post on his Instagram page on Saturday.

The former Inter striker, who is Italy’s sixth highest goal scorer, scored the third goal against Germany in the 1982 World Cup final, securing a win for the Azzurri and helping them earn their third ever World Cup trophy. He spent 11 years of his career with Inter, from 1977 to 1988.

Altobelli posted the photo alongside the caption: “The dream of a child born in a country without a sports field. There were stones instead of poles, a goalkeeper and a lot of imagination, maybe too much, but I got in the area and scored the third goal. An emotion that takes your breath away, and then, like a very fast train, images flow.

“My Father, my Mother, my family, my first ball, the butcher’s shop, the suitcase, Brescia and then Milan and then the National team. And with the National team, the World Cup, my dream as a child, the dream that is worth a whole career, the kiss on the Cup, the rejoicing of the people, the companions who become brothers forever, the great Bearzot and his pipe, the great Pertini and his humanity, the plane, the cards, an unforgettable win. 11 July 1982: the dream come true.”

Inter dedicated the next episode of their series ‘Roots’ to 36-year-old Macedonian forward Goran Pandev.

Pandev signed for Inter when he was 18 years old, but failed to break into the first team as a youngster. He returned to the club in 2010 from Lazio and was a part of the Nerazzurri’s Treble winning squad, playing 79 minutes in the Champions League final. He left the club in 2011 to join Napoli on loan, before making the move permanent.

Inter posted the video alongside the caption: “The successes in the Primavera, the return, the triumphs of 2010 and that anecdote of 22 (now 23…) May 2010. The protagonist of this week’s Inter Roots is Goran Pandev!”

Inter wished former striker Christian ‘Bobo’ Vieri a happy 47th birthday in a tweet sent via their official Twitter account yesterday.

Vieri spent six years of his career with Inter, from 1999 to 2005. During that period, he only managed to win a single Coppa Italia, missing out on the club’s dominance in latter half of the 2000’s.

However, the Italian striker made 190 appearances across all competitions in that time, for a total of 14,343 minutes. In those games, he scored 122 goals and provided nine assists.

Inter posted a video of Vieri alongside the caption: “Happy birthday to the striker Christian Vieri! What’s your favorite goal from Bobo’s time with Inter?”

Inter coach Antonio Conte wants to make nine or ten signings this summer, whilst the club’s owners the Suning group only think four or five reinforcements are necessary, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how coach Antonio Conte is disappointed with the squad after their poor performances since the restart of the season.

The club have only won three league games out of their last six, leading the former Juventus and Chelsea coach to complain that the squad didn’t have a winning mindset and had a poor mentality.

The 50-year-old Italian coach wants to win immediately, the report continues, and so for that reason wants an overhaul to the squad, signing nine or ten new players.

The Nerazzurri’s management disagree and believe that only four or five new signings are necessary, and there will be a mixture of veterans and young talents.

Inter coach Antonio Conte is likely to rest Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku in tomorrow night’s clash with Torino, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 27-year-old striker, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, didn’t show any injuries when undergoing medical tests yesterday, instead having only a small issue. The player is fit enough to face the Granata tomorrow evening, but Conte doesn’t want to take any risks and will start Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez.

There are still six more league games to play, the report continues, and so Conte would prefer to rest Lukaku tomorrow so he is fully fit and healthy for the remaining games of the season. The former Manchester United striker has made 42 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 3452 minutes. In that time, he has scored 26 goals and provided five assists.

Inter and Roma are considering making a move for Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay’s signature, according to an online report from Spanish newspaper SuperDeporte.

The report details how the Nerazzurri and the Giallorossi are interested in signing the 33-year-old Argentine defender this summer on a free transfer, after the player’s contract expired with Spanish side Valencia at the start of this month. Benfica are also interested in signing Garay but the two Italian clubs are in pole position.

Garay underwent cruciate ligament surgery in February, the report continues, and would be ready to start training with his new team from August onward.

The 33-year-old, who spent the last four years of his career with Valencia, made 23 appearances across all competitions this season for the La Liga outfit, for a total of 1891 minutes.

In that time, he helped the side keep six clean sheets and generally impressed, before suffering the cruciate ligament rupture in February.
