Italian Media Details Friction Between Antonio Conte & Parts Of Inter’s Squad & Owners

A report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport has detailed the friction present between Inter coach Antonio Conte, parts of the squad and the club.

The report details how the Lecce born coach has repeatably highlighted how the club would prefer to sign younger players with a more long-term view in mind, whilst the former Chelsea and Juventus boss would prefer to sign more experienced players, like Arturo Vidal or Edin Dzeko.

The club’s work in the transfer market seemingly confirms this, with the team looking to sign other young talents like Sandro Tonali and Marash Kumbulla, rather than looking at Conte’s list of Vidal, Dzeko and potentially Jan Vertonghen.

Some within the club are keen on Conte’s methods and public statements, the report continues, with some players highlighting how they’ve had to ask the coach for a lower level of physical training after suffering muscle problems.

The club, however, have no interest in dismissing him, especially because of his large contract. Things would be different, though, if he received an offer from a different club.

Sandro Tonali’s Agent: “Inter Have Closed The Gap To Juventus Technically”

Inter target Sandro Tonali’s agent, Beppe Bozzo, discussed his client, the Nerazzurri, and the fight to close the gap to Juventus in an interview with Italian newspaper Foglio Sportivo earlier today.

“Tonali was born great. He has everything from a psychological and physical perspective. He is brilliant, he knows how to evaluate different options, he has a great sense of responsibility, and that makes him much more mature than his age. Factors that will certainly help him on his way to becoming a champion.”

He highlighted how good players need to be both intelligent and quick with their feet.

“You don’t become Modric if you are not intelligent, if you don’t know you have something more than the others. Or indeed, as they say in Spain, you don’t have something more than the others. Without head, heart, legs and altruism you’ll never be complete, you’re not going anywhere.”

Bozzo highlighted how Juventus managed to stay on top by buying the best players from their opponents.

“Before the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Bianconeri were always concerned with weakening their opponents, every time they were finally about to reach them. It happened with Higuain and Napoli, with Pjanic and Roma.”

Tonali’s agent suggested that Inter’s hiring of former Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta has helped to close the gap.

“Inter were out of the game because of insufficient investment, AC Milan suffered from a lack of ownership that met the expectations of a club of their caliber. The Nerazzurri, however, knowing Marotta, are destined to close the gap with Juve and, indeed, I think they have already closed it.”

Bozzo thought the work of Inter’s management in the last two transfer windows has done huge strides to closing the gap with the Bianconeri.

“The stop caused by the virus has disrupted training sessions and has allowed players to stay in the squad for longer, factors that somehow slow you down and generate chaos with respect to the goal.

“I don’t see Inter technically lagging behind Agnelli’s club, in this sense Marotta and Ausilio were good at their work in the summer and then in January.”

Finally, Bozzo discussed how Juventus can’t simply buy Inter’s best assets anymore, due to their high market value.

“This time the Bianconeri won’t be able to dismantle their competitors as they have successfully done in the past, also because the market value of the Inter has risen a lot compared to some years ago.”

Tonali has impressed in his debut season in Serie A, attracting the interest of both Juventus and Inter. The 20-year-old Italian has made 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring one goal and providing six assists in that time.

Sebastiano Esposito On The Verge Of Signing New Deal With Inter

Inter starlet Sebastiano Esposito is close to signing a new deal with Inter, extending his deal from 2022 to 2025, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 18-year-old Italian striker has signed with a new agent, Federico Pastorello, and is close to signing a new deal with the Milanese club, tying him to them until 2025. The club’s plans regarding Esposito haven’t changed and the club will send him out on loan next season in order to give him regular playing time, with the current likely destination being Parma.

Inter coach Antonio Conte was so impressed by Esposito last summer that he promoted the then 17-year-old to the first team, giving him his first team debut in a Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund in October. The Italian teenager has made 11 first team appearances this season and has scored one goal in that time.

Romelu Lukaku Could Miss Inter’s Serie A Clash With Torino Due To Injury

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku may miss the Nerazzurri’s Monday night clash against Torino due to injury, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 27-year-old Belgian striker, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2024, felt discomfort between the adductor of his right thigh and his hip, and so asked to be substituted off. If the discomfort hasn’t disappeared by training today, then the club will investigate his condition and it’s likely that he could miss the game against Torino in order to ensure a full recovery. One piece of good news is that Victor Moses has made a full recovery and will be available for the Torino game.

Lukaku has made 42 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 3452 minutes. In that time, he has scored 26 goals and provided five assists, settling in well in Milan after joining from Manchester United last summer.

Gianluca Di Marzio: “Inter Coach Antonio Conte Prefers Borja Valero As He Has Doubts Over Christian Eriksen’s Temperament”

Italian journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio discussed Inter coach Antonio Conte’s relationship with Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and Belgian Radja Nainggolan in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia late yesterday evening.

“The technical value of Eriksen is not in question. But on the level of intensity, temperament in dragging his team-mates, the coach expected more. At the moment Borja gives him more guarantees than he expects. At this time for the coach, it’s the Spaniard who is the best to use.”

Di Marzio then suggested that former Roma midfielder Nainggolan could be reintegrated into the squad this summer.

“Nainggolan could be part of Inter’s next plans. Conte had also thought of sending him out on loan. But the idea he had from the outside is not the same as the one he has now that he’s been to Appiano Gentile. A player like Radja, who will return to the base, could then be part of the Inter squad.”

Eriksen, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has struggled to adapt to Conte’s tactical system since his arrival in the January transfer window, when the Milanese club paid Tottenham €20 million to secure his signature, despite the fact that his contract would have expired at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old Dane failed to impress in his first few months in Italy, but the Coronavirus stop gave the former Spurs man time to learn Conte’s system and settle more in the Italian peninsula. Despite this, his performances since the season restart have been inconsistent, both impressing and disappearing.

Italian Media Report Inter CEO Beppe Marotta Mediating Between Suning & Antonio Conte

Inter coach Antonio Conte will have to meet with the Nerazzurri management at the end of the season to define the future project, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

The report details how the Lecce born coach’s comments after the 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona earlier this week, that he will “make … evaluations” at the end of the season, haven’t gone unnoticed and the Nerazzurri’s management aren’t particularly impressed, considering the high amounts they have invested in the 50-year-old Italian’s squad this season.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is working as a mediator between the two parties, the report continues, and at the end of the season Conte will meet with the club’s management to discuss the project. Both parties have a common goal, to bring Inter a trophy, but the former Juve coach wants five or six reinforcements this summer in order to fight for the league title.

Gianluca Di Marzio: “Inter Want To Continue Working With Antonio Conte”

Italian journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio discussed the situation involving Inter and coach Antonio Conte, who expressed his unhappiness at the team’s performance after their 2-2 draw against Hellas Verona, in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia late yesterday evening.

“We are able to try to reconstruct the situation. Inter does not want to reach Conte’s dismissal, they want to continue with the coach also in the future. It will be necessary to understand if the assessments anticipated by the coach, on the squad and the technical aspect, on the reinforcements, but also on an organisational level, will be on the same wavelength as those of the club.”

He then highlighted how Inter and the Lecce born coach could have different objectives and goals.

“Whether Inter’s improvements and objectives will be the same as those of the coach. Will Inter be an immediate winner? Will it focus on young people? The club had asked for an improvement and there was a lot of improvement, especially in the first ten games, which perhaps everyone was a bit deluded.”

Finally, Di Marzio discussed Conte’s expectations for this summer’s transfer window and the club’s capabilities to satisfy the former Chelsea and Juve coach.

“Conte expects an important revolution for next season, to win immediately. Inter will be able to make a market with transfers and acquisitions, with talented youngsters but not with seven or eight €70-80 million players.”

Inter are currently 4th in the league table, after 31 games. The Nerazzurri sit one point behind third place Atalanta and 10 points behind first place Juventus, struggling to replicate the form they found before the Christmas break. Conte’s squad have only won three of their last six league games since the restart, drawing one and losing the other two. The Milanese club are hoping for a win against Torino on Monday night.

Italian Media Claim Division Between Antonio Conte & Parts Of The Inter Squad

A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested that there are divisions between the Inter squad and their coach Antonio Conte.

The report details how the Lecce born coach remained silent during the Nerazzurri’s disappointing first half against Hellas Verona earlier this week, highlighting the division between parts of the squad and the former Juventus coach. Parts of the team no longer feel Conte’s confidence in them and some understand that they will not be involved in his future project at the club, lowering their confidence further.

Inter have no plans to dismiss Conte, the report continues, even considering his €12 million annual salary, which lasts until 2022, as well as strategic reasons. The Lecce born coach is keen to overhaul the squad this summer and wants many new players, so the Nerazzurri’s transfer market moves this summer may prove vital for the relationship between coach and club.

Italian Media Suggest Inter Have Clear Ideas For The Future & Conte Is A Part Of Them

The intent of both Inter and coach Antonio Conte is to win immediately together but a meeting in August may change this, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

The report details how the Nerazzurri will still place their trust in the 50-year-old Italian coach and believe he is the perfect coach to help the team grow. The management have clear ideas, they want to move forward constantly strengthening and growing, both with short term results and long-term player development.

The two parties will meet in August, at the end of the season, the report continues. If the duo agrees upon the responsibilities of the coach and the club, then the team will be strengthened overall. If not, Conte could step away from the role. The Lecce born coach wants at least five to six reinforcements this summer, although it’s unlikely that all of these will be of the same quality as a player like Achraf Hakimi.

Italian Media Claim Inter No Longer Deem Milan Skriniar & Marcelo Brozovic As Unsellable

Inter are open to offers for Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar, two players previously considered unsellable, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 25-year-old Slovak is suffering from the switch to a three-man defense and hasn’t particularly impressed in his new role. Between his unconvincing performances and the Coronavirus pandemic, Skriniar’s value has dropped from €80 million to around €40-50 million. Should previously interested Manchester City approach Inter over a possible deal, the Nerazzurri would be willing to listen.

In regard to Brozovic, the report continues, his value has dropped lower than his €60 million release clause. The player’s strong character has started to emerge as the squad’s performances have dropped, however, and so a large new contract could be offered by the Milanese club. The 27-year-old has scored three goals and provided five assists in 35 games this season.
